Where do I begin, Nancy is the hair stylist we’ve all dreamed of but haven’t found yet. She will take care of you like a mom or grandmother. She’s so wise and will drop some knowledge and advice and give you the best hair style. She braids beautifully abs quickly. She’s a hoot to spend time with. Honestly if I lived closer not on the east coast I’d visit just to see her. She’s that amazing! She was so accommodating, for the last minute appointment I made. I was in a pinch and she made time and took such good care of me. She literally saved me and gave me the best life advice I’ve had in a while. Much needed. I couldn’t recommend her more, she’s simply the best!

Never go to this business this is terrible the women destroyed my locks and wouldn’t give my refund back she talks about your personal life more then doing your hair she had one of my locks shorter then other ones it’s terrible do not go here

Short Version: Nusi is a nice lady who is communicative and prompt, but is very poorly skilled in performing box braids. She charged $140, but the work was a $75 value. I was completely unsatisfied and took the braids out after 5 days because they looked so bad. Long Version: I really contemplated writing this review, but honestly all the other high reviews misled me in my search for good, high quality braids and I'm leaving this review for the people who come after me so they don't have to experience the amateur, shoddy work I received. I've attached pictures of Nusi's work and frankly it's absolutely terrible. I hate my braids. Nusi told me that she was licensed, had been doing this for 30 years, and was an expert at doing box braids. Her work did not reflect that. Nusi requires you to wash and dentangle your hair before you get there, which is fine. I did the best I could, but in the end I'm not a professional. I assumed she would detangle properly when I got there. However, before adding in my extension braids, she did not blowdry my hair out for maximum length. She detangled my 4b/c hair while it was dry, causing breakage. 1. The middle part was extremely crooked. This is an amateur mistake. You'd have to be blind to not recognize that a line isn't straight. She sent me out into the world with a middle part curving across my head like the exit on a highway. It was laughably bad. I had to take off work AGAIN for her to fix her mistake and it still wasn't completely centered. 2. The hair she uses is odd. I originally asked her if I should bring the hair I was used to, "Spectra Pre-Stretch." She said no and that her hair was better quality. It's called Super X TZ4 Braid. In my opinion, the hair she used is worse. It's itchy, rough to the touch, and STIFF. The spectra one is soft to the touch and smoother and moves more freely. Hers feels like I have twigs in my hair. 3. She did this very odd thing where she left 2-3.5 inches of each braid unfinished. Instead of shearing the ends of the braids to make them look more realistic, she just cut them off in a straight horizontal line. It looked horrible and really fake, like there were curtain tassels on my hair. She "sealed" it with water, but then immediately after I left the salon the braids started coming undone. Even after going back to her that afternoon for her to fix it and actually put rubber bands on the end, she still didn't braid the hair all the way down. Therefore, I had to spend an hour at home trying to cut the excess hair off since I don't know how to braid. 4. The parts, as you can see from the pictures, are NOT clean and neat. Once again, the work looks so amateur. This is the work of someone who is inexperienced with box braids. Box braids are meant to be neat, symmetrical, and polished. If the parts are uneven, the braids will be uneven and hang badly. Her braids don't suit my face or my head properly. I have had box braids for the past 3 months and know what good ones look like. She does not have an eye for modern styles. 5. I immediately was able to see so much wrong once I got to a well lit mirror. The mirror and lighting in her salon is dim and you can't see well. Also, she had another client after me and I had to get to work. But, as soon I had a moment I could see just how bad it was. She did fit me in later that day at 3:40 to fix my issues, which I appreciated. At no charge to me of course. Unfortunately, she did not fix my issues, just improved them a little. I still had to work on them more when I got home. 6. Lastly, I understand this is the south but I REALLY don't want to hear about your god and christianity while i'm stuck in a chair for hours. This is not the time for a sermon. And I didn't want to be rude at the time, but when someone says they don't worship your god, take the hint and be quiet.

Mummy Nusi is the owner and stylist of the Zion Hair Studio! When you go to get your hair done, you come out with way more than you pay for. She's incredible in her craft and does it amazingly well. The customer service is beyond what I can express. I'm very particular about my hair and the styles I do, and she understands my needs. Plus she braid neat, nice and not heavy! Go, give her call and you'll be glad you did!

Nusi is the best braider I have had in Nashville. I had a problem with other stylists whose crochet styles wouldn’t last but Nusi’s quality of work has caused my crochets to last a long time. She does great work and is always responsive! Will always go to her for my crochets and braids!!!

I got a braid down for my wig and i never had such a flat braid down before which made my wig looks better. She treats her customers with great respect and does a great job. Simply can’t say enough great things about Ms. Nusirat - She is so kind, considerate, and amazing at what she does!! I wanted box braids/extensions and everyone told me it couldn’t be done because my hair was barely 1 inch long but Ms. Nusirat told me to come on in and she got it done no problem. I couldn’t believe it! She took time to talk to me about exactly what I wanted. We pulled up pictures on line so I could show her what I was thinking and she made it happen. Never felt rushed at any point. I could tell all she was concerned about was getting my hair right. We had good conversation and the time flew right by. Plus she was ready to start right when I got there which is super rare when you’re getting your hair done lol. I’ll never go anywhere else - She’s the best around!!
