worst hair salon i've ever been. they were dishonest with me about price. didn't tell me price would increase until i had to pay at the end, essentially forcing me to pay the price without agreeing to it. they're lucky i even paid. the hair was super average too and took 8 hours. i went to another salon that had better results, lower price, and only took 3 hours. DO NOT GO!!!! DISHONEST!!!! i would give 0 stars if i could. shitty, dishonest, thieving business. what a joke EDIT: i went to this shop a while back. a few months ago. i didn't post review until now

$15 for cut & wash meant another round of detailed cuts. The gentleman with dyed blond hair named Tony takes his time and make sure it comes out perfectly. I went in on Sunday morning & got an easy parking on Northern Blvd. I've been trying to find a new place and couple of place not bad but a bit disappointing. No issues here. One of the best cuts I ever suffered. Definitely get wash for the extra $5 as he made sure the cut came out better than the pre-wash cut. Oh, he does NOT speak English but a reference pic + Google translate more than does the job. Asian hair is best left to an Asian no matter the base language. BTW: I do NOT give out 5 stars just for the heck of it.

Excellent haircut for an overgrown buzzcut, was also recommended to grow my hair one month more before returning to fix my hair’s fragile texture overall, which would allow me the perfect haircut suited to my features. P.S. Tony was really helpful and provided great service, would definitely recommend the males' cut for only $10.

Good service, but I did not get what I asked for. I know that it's hard to get exactly the same color or cut you request, but I showed them pictures of the style and the color I wanted and didn't get it. They cut my bangs too short, but the main problem was the hair coloring When they showed me color samples, they kept recommending purple, saying it would look good on me, and I kept rejecting it. Instead, I asked for a dark brown with red undertones, but when they finished drying my hair after the dye, it looked nothing like what I had asked for, and I realized they put purple undertones in, even though I said I didn't want purple a hundred times. The end result isn't ugly, but it feels like they ignored my request and injected their own opinion. They didn't do a bad job, but I would really recommend customers be extremely firm when they make their requests.

I had an amazing experience with Tony at YS Hair Salon. Tony was incredibly kind, and the service was excellent. The atmosphere reminded me of my old neighborhood hair salon in Korea, where everyone was friendly, chatting, and sharing kindness, but with the exceptional skills you’d expect from any top stylist in Manhattan. The price was reasonable too. I waited a week to see how the cut and color would hold up after a few washes, and it’s still perfect! I’ll definitely be visiting again. Tony, remember me—Sarah

Phenomenal hairstylist and staff. My mom and I ❤️ love it here. We have thick abundant Salvadorean hair that can be difficult to manage. However, our stylist was heaven sent. Very patient, caring and a light hand when cutting hair. They are true professionals. I travel all the way from the Bronx to get my hair treatments, hair cuts and hair consultations. I came with my family and the three of us got exactly what I wanted. I have really thick hair and they managed to thin it out really naturally! They have a drinks mini fridge and my hairdresser was really friendly.

I came here for the first time only for a haircut and blowout. It was not very good. I showed numerous reference photos and they gave me something completely different. Didn't offer snacks but they did offer me a drink. I didn't get a blowout either. When I asked them to fix parts of my hair, they kept reassuring me it was okay and not to fix it. It wasn't very even either. Cut my bangs too short. Not the worst hair salon, but I think haircuts are not their strong suit. For $70, I could've done it at home. I had Jason as my hairdresser.

Everyone should be really careful here. I don’t know how they can get 4.9 rating, but overall this is THE WORST SALON that I ever visited in New York. I was literally the only on there in the salon from 4 pm to 7 pm. Hair stylist did not know anything about hair styling. Horrible. They also don’t even speak fluent english. Watch out! Definitely never go here if you’re about to have any special occasion . Also the fact that it is crazily expensive, I don’t even know what they are selling.

I usually cut my own hair for more standard haircuts, but sometimes I want a more complicated cut that I can’t find a direct reference photo for. Came in for a haircut with any stylist and got Loui — super super glad I did! I’ve gotten cuts by highly reviewed stylists but still felt let down by the cut. No one has listened as carefully as Loui does. He’s precise and delicate and gave a proper consultation. Loui assessed my current haircut, asked a bunch of questions throughout the cut, asked about my typical styling and products, and also gave styling suggestions for the new cut. He’s clearly knowledgeable about cuts, styling, trends, etc… He was also just a really chill guy to chat with :) The attendant was also really sweet and gave a great wash. Highly recommend!

My girlfriend and I went to get haircuts on a weekend and had a great experience! We made appointments ahead of time through the online site. The haircut prices included hair wash and styling. - The hair wash was a very relaxing experience. They were very gentle and thorough. I even got my hair washed a second time after the cut to wash off the cut hair. - The hair stylists are so incredibly precise and genuinely care about how it looks. They take their time (we were there for 2.5hr) to make sure it is done right. It is the cleanest cut I've ever gotten! - They explain what they are doing the whole time, and advise on styles that are more flattering for face shape - At the end, they gave us styling advice I would really recommend giving this salon a try :) they do great, diligent work. We got our cuts done by Louis and Liu. They were very good! We will definitely be returning the next time we need our hair done.

Second time back at Mos! Came in today to change my hair color. The hair stylist suggested a few colors that would fade well and complement my skin tone, he also suggested doing a melt which softened the bleach line of where my previously bleached hair and newly grown hair met. The team was patient and kept checking the coloring process to make sure the color came out just the way I wanted. The assistant was super attentive, offering drinks and snacks during the process. They’re super patient and friendly. It’s best to make an appointment so they can offer the best. Definitely worth giving a shot.

This is my first to write review. I’ve been looking for a good salon/ hairstylist for soooo long!! I’ve wasted so much money before and not worth it. So on Tuesday while just browsing I came across to Mos SaLon in Flushing. I read the reviews and I can attest that Jason is very talented. I showed the picture that I wanted and Jason explained everything and recommended what best for my hair.. It took hours but it was so much worth the money!! Each time that Jason will put something, Jason will explained it first, which was very nice and that’s how it should be.. All in all, I was so happy and even recommended to my friends.

It was my first time at Mos Salon and Jason did an ash beige foilayage for me. He did a fantastic job. He recommended that color because he said it would complement my skin tone better. He started off with the haircut first and then proceeded to do the bleaching and coloring. He was attentive and detailed throughout the entire process. His cut was very precise and meticulous. Jason and his assistant checked my foils and took out the strands that were done processing and left the ones that needed more time. He said he wanted to make sure my hair was even and not 3-4 different tones. He toned twice to make sure it was ashy and told me exactly what to buy and use to maintain at home. He provided tea and water and snacks and checked on very often. I've been to a lot of salons and this was the best customer service I've ever experienced. I highly recommend Jason and Mos Salon.

This is my favorite hair salon in New York hands down. Both times I’ve come, they’ve done a phenomenal job of coloring my hair and giving me a look exactly the way I wanted and described! Everyone here is so kind, and the price is great compared to salons in Manhattan. I travel here all the way from the upper east side and it’s always worth the commute.

So pretty best salon experience ever. I like doing complicated colors on my hair and this is the only salon that gives me exactly the color I want everytime and they are so nice and chill. Plus they give u snacks definitely recommend!
