Echoing other reviewers’ dissatisfaction with recent customer service at this Santa Clarita location. While I understand the need to enforce corporate policy, exchanging makeup shouldn’t feel like going to the police. Sometimes the inflexibility doesn’t have to do with rules, so much as the mood of whoever is working and supervising the counter. And even still, there are ways of both enforcing policy while also being flexible and finding ways to make a future purchase better or discounted! — I went to another Ulta location a few days later and had a totally different experience just by virtue of the competence, flexibility, and kindness displayed by the rep & management. Note: it is more rewarding to be kind and helpful esp. to loyal clients. The goal should be keeping customers coming back and buying more, not acting like bosses on a power trip!

Rylee was my cashier and not only extremely rude and unhelpful but couldn’t do as little as crack a smile. Had a very clear attitude problem. If someone can’t be polite and friendly, simply don’t work in customer service. Won’t be returning to this store anymore.

Today my husband I walked into ULTA looking for a specific item. Alyssa greeted us and I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted. Alyssa was very helpful listening to my concerns she knew exactly what I needed. I inquired about having a facial/ makeup appointment. She explained throughly what I needed to do when I was ready. Alyssa didn’t know that 54 of my friends/family lost their homes in Altadena Fire. Alyssa’s kindness, and patience’s towards me made my day♥️ Thank you for having her on your team ULTA

Please retrain your manager Laura/ Lauren She is extremely unprofessional. I have worked high end retail and regular retail without shouting a customers method of payment. I'm not ashamed to use Afterpay. I have the money but choose to spend it as I please. She was extremely degrading and I hate to play the race card but...... if the shoe fits. Do better Laura and after looking at all the reviews it’s definitely seems to be trickling from the top. What a hostile environment.

I’ve been shopping at this Ulta for the last four years and I decided I wouldn’t be returning. There are a handful of nice, helpful, and pleasant employees. I am always grateful when I interact with them. HOWEVER, I have met some outright nasty people here. You would think that in a role where you deal with customers you would be helpful and kind. Nope. They are short with you, impatient, and treat you like a nuisance. Even doing an online pick up order is a head ache here. Sad to say cause I’ve been an Ulta shopper since high school but this is enough to make me switch to Sephora.

Riley has the worst customer service in the store. I shop here all the time and she couldn’t give a simple greeting when I walked in to pick up my order. This place should hire employees that are actually happy with their jobs. Will no be shopping from this Ulta location ever again.

Rude over the phone customer service. I was trying to place an order online for pick up today and forgot what foundation number I go, so I called to see if they can pull it up on my account and I was put on hold for 10 minutes so when the lady finally got back to me she said she had a long line and if I can call back later. Like hello I’m also a customer trying to purchase something. Unbelievable. I’ll be going to Sephora from now on.

I went yesterday to buy makeup, spent 256 dollars worth. Rylee checked me out and today I realize I was charged for an item that was not put in my bag. I spoke to Jessica and said she could not do anything because footage shows it was placed in there. She was no help at all, why would anyone steal at lipstick when I have already spent 256 dollars worth of makeup. Did not offer any other kind of assistance.

One of my go to stores for cosmetics. Pretty good selection and prices are comparable, plus as a member, I earn points which convert to cash. Cool setup. Very helpful staff.

Spoke with Jessica when I needed help with an item, she was rude and no help at all. Ulta please make sure you are teaching your employees how to provide proper costumer service.

The employees are trash and need to be retrained. All they do is gather around the front of the store and run their mouths like a bunch of children. Better off ordering online as the employees are very useless. Amy at check out was also good for nothing. I won’t be returning to this location lol

i got my hair done for the first time at ulta and i was really nervous. but June did my hair and she is so sweet and she did an amazing job! she took her time and we had great conversations!! i recommend her if you want to get ur hair done here :)

Went to buy two gifts cards for my nieces birthdays and the store was out of them. What store is out of their own gift cards? After a curse word may or may not have slipped out of my mouth, the sales associate was kind enough to suggest going over to Target for the gift card. It wasn’t exactly wasn’t exactly what I was looking for.

I had my hair done at ulta with Jillian on 12/31/2023. Jillian was so perfection to a T. She cut washed, gave a treatment, cut, blows dried, and styled my hair for me in all under an hour, we even ended up adding hair tinsel to my hair. It was the best experience I’ve ever had at a Salon and all the ulta staff were just so nice! You can find Jillian on IG. Her handle is : Hudds_haircuts 🩷

I’ve been meaning to leave a review since I was last there on October 14th. Let me start off by saying Laura was fantastic! I came in looking for a Stila eye liner and she provided suggestion since I am still new at makeup application. She recommended a while liquid liner and suggested I go with the Nyx brand. Let me tell you that was the best suggestion. I was also looking for a matte black lipstick that wouldn’t break the bank. She hit all the points I needed and suggested that if I ever wanted to try in the future to try mac later. I would have never considered NYX if it wasn’t for her. Nyx is now my go to makeup if I want to explore and practice without breaking the bank. This woman deserves a raise and a promotion! I am super awkward when I go buy makeup but she welcomed me with open arms and out my nerves at ease. She has such a warm aura, making her super approachable. Employees like her are the reason why I stick with Ulta instead of Sephora. After this encounter I did have an uncomfortable interaction with an older gentleman who worked there. He may be new as he was not very welcoming with his suggestions. I honestly felt insulted by his comments but did not take it to heart. He just made me want to run out of there because I wasn’t comfortable. After this incident another wonderful lady who worked there assisted me when she saw that I had an uncomfortable look on my face. I do not remember her name sadly. I believe it was Erica but I could be wrong. I was looking for an oil of some type for my hair since it gets super frizzy in the winter. I picked out Quai which she states that it is not good for my hair as it is thin. She suggested bumble and bumble. This my dear is fantastic! My hair thanks you!! You two ladies were phenomenal and I am thankful to have met you both!!

Some of them didn’t seem interested in helping me. The first employee that was rude to me didn’t make eye contact with me and didn’t give me clear instructions on who would assist me because she was busy. She also said what?? when i asked her something instead of being polite and professional. The cashier was rude, didn’t answer me when I talked to her, didn’t put the items in one bag like I asked???. Also they NEVER have the free gifts. Waste of time. Go somewhere else to get your items.

Super kind and professional! Everyone at this Ulta that helped me was very friendly and courteous! From the greeter that handed me a shopping bag to the gentleman that assisted me in the perfume section to the young woman at check out! Everyone was all smiles and made my husband and I feel very welcome! I definitely recommend paying a visit to this Ulta location. :)

The person who helped me pick out my products was terrific and very knowledgeable. I didn't care for the checkout experience, the cashier was bossy and made demands that I had to give her a phone number and if I didn't I couldn't make any returns. I think stores should respect a person's request for privacy not all of us want to supply them with our personal information.
