The customer service at this Ulta is the worst I’ve ever seen. All the employees I’ve encountered are rude and standoffish. They never offer help or attempt to be friendly to their customers. Also, whenever I try to do curbside pickup I’ve had to wait 30+ minutes or they just refuse to bring the order out despite being given that option on the app.

Avoid at all cost. This is the worst Ulta by far that I’ve ever had to endure. Their customer service is non-existent. For the markup the charge on all their products you think they could train there employees better .👎🏽👎🏽

Horrible customer service. This location in particular is extremely unprofessional with pushing their Ulta credit card. I am always hassled at this location, however, today I was asked FOUR times in a row if I was “really sure” I didn’t want their credit card after clearly stating “NO” every single time I was asked. I highly recommend taking your business somewhere else where the word “no” is understood, at least by the third or fourth time and you’re respected as customer clearly communicating. I’m not sure if it’s poor management at this location in particular, but save yourself a headache from a very unpleasant check out experience.

I don’t think I’ve ever been so offended in an Ulta until today. I was looking for my moisturizer (which has been extremely friendly with my sensitive skin) when a woman walked up asking if I needed help. I told her no thank you and that I was just trying to find my moisturizer. She tried to help me find it and I was grateful for that! However, when they ended up not having it on the shelf, she proceeded to tell me that I should try a different product, that she can tell I have acne prone skin, and that XYZ product can help with my skin texture and hyperpigmentation. I understand she was trying to help, but I truly did not ask for advice on my skin. I have been working with a dermatologist for my flare up in acne following a significant change in my health, the product I was initially looking for has been working wonders for me and did not need a sales pitch on a “better one”, and I did not expect to get unsolicited comments or advice on my appearance today. I think she saw how uncomfortable I was because she said “it’s okay, I’m an esthetician”. She also told me that I need to use less products with fragrance because “that’s what’s causing the breakouts” even though we didn’t have a conversation about what products I use. Again, I know she was trying to help, but I walked out of the store extremely embarrassed and self-conscious. I’m not angry at all, but for this specific reason I’m probably never going back.

Customer service is bad. Came here today (4/26/24) for a return of a foundation I got on 4/3/24. Have to mention that the lighting in the store is so bad that makes everything seem like my shade, so I got a foundation that did not match my skin tone at all. Mind that I’m the kind of person that would buy brand new makeup just to keep them until I run out of the ones I’m using, then open the brand new ones. When I first got the foundation, I have never opened it until the first time I wear it, which I found out that it was not my shade at all, it made my face grey, so I went to the store try to return it. The return process was a hassle, I told the lady that was helping me about the reason for the return and that I have only used one pump since i opened it, I didn’t touch it at all after I tried it on. She couldn’t tell if the bottle is less than 85% so she called the manager up, they immediately accused me that it’s less than 85%, they can’t do the return. (With only one pump???) i told them I only used one pump once, no way it’s less than 85%. They did not believe me, instead they opened the bottle and took the pumper out to check and keep telling me it’s for sure less than 85%. (keep in mind that when you take the pumper out, it also brings out the product on it which makes the liquid less in the bottle) I said if you guys want, you can use a flashlight, the other lady immediately said “no it doesn’t work that way”, Yes it does ma’am. I owned a whole collection of makeup and that’s how i checked every bottle to see how much product is left. They grabbed the tester to compare and had 4 different staffs checked it, and still couldn’t figure out if it’s for sure less than 85%. At the end, the manager told the cashier “just do it”, which made me seem like I’m trying to take an advantage. I’ve been coming to this ulta for years, and have spent thousands of dollars at ulta, but this experience made me disappointed. Overall the cashier lady was nice but the customer service needs improvement.

Love this place I just bought a satin pillow case and a de tangling brush for my hair I have matted hair in the morning which is an absolute nightmare for me in general I'm glad i went to this ulta here in my city i do not regret it at all I love the perfumes that the lady had us test smell might come back again and get a satin bonnet and scrunchie and eye mask as well in my next trip to ulta beauty

Weird cashier. Asked to see if she could see my card when I was making a return, and never had that happen to me. Thought she might’ve been trying to steal my card information? She was really rude about it too, and talked to me like I was retarded because I was hesitant to show someone my card information without knowing why. If there is a legitimate reason to see my card information, it should be consistent every time I go because otherwise, I thought she was being extra and weird for no reason. Especially talking to me like I was retarded was messed up.

employees consist of a bunch of mean girls who think they're better than you. cashier, anyssa, although super pretty, had a very mean vibe. had an almost disgusted look on her face while checking my items out and just did not look approachable. i get it if you're having a bad day but like, damn. i said, "have a good day," before leaving, no response from her. honestly, might never go back to be honest.

Walked into Ulta today to buy Dior Lip Oil. The website said it was in stock so I drove to the store to pick it up… very disappointed with the customer service. The older woman at the register pointed at the boxes and said that the product is in the store but is boxed up. She said that the store is going through a remodel… okay, well I drove 25 mins to pick up the product. It’s in the store, why can’t you just give it to me… She didn’t, so I drove to Sephora instead.

I’ve been an Ulta customer since the very beginning. But I don’t particular enjoy shopping at the Folsom shop. So opposite of my visits to other Sacramento area Ultas. Over the years, customer service has not improved at the Folsom location… at least not for me. When I ask for assistance, I usually get the hand wave and “it’s over there” comment. Not very helpful. I last shopped here last week. The woman that walked in behind me was offered immediate assistance, I was not acknowledged. But I did see an associate linger and stand at the end of the aisle where I was looking at product labels. I was reading labels since I’m trying to avoid certain chemicals. The associate was looking about (and at me) but didn’t offer to assist me. The cashier, at checkout, said my items were ineligible for the coupon code I provided. I asked her to please give it a go to scan it. Sure enough, the coupon did apply. Instead of a recognition, she started a conversation with another associate about how tired she was and not another word spoken to me. After my last visit, I’m totally rethinking of no longer shopping (online and in store) at Ulta. Most all of their products can be found at Sephora (which is across the street in the Palladio) or Target. There are two Targets within roughly four miles away. All have better customer services, awards, and pricing.

So today(3/28/24) i( African American, female, 20) was going to pick up my mobile order and shop around. while I’m shopping asked employees if I needed any help or needed help finding anything I said. So I noticed when I said no to one of the employees she gave me a dirty look, then walked over to the next aisle. then I walk away from where I was to go to a different aisle/section of the store.she was there,so then I go to a different part of the store she was there.next I walk across the store to see if she followed and she did,I then asked her why she was following me,she said “I’m just walking around the store” then I walked off, then noticed I didn’t see her a single time after I asked. so I go back to the original section I was at to continue shopping in peace, I found something I liked then bought it. Then after I paid I decided to continue shopping/looking around the store some more, I noticed all the employees would be staring at me. this one lady came to ask me if I needed any help I said no,then walked to a different aisle. I was in the aisle for less then 30 seconds and she happened to be in the next aisle over looking over the aisle watching me.i then notice there are a group of employees talking to each other while looking me,I ignored it and continued to look around more.next thing I know a cop is there and an employee was talking to him and looking over at me to kinda like signal to him that it’s me.i ignore it and continue shopping.i get in line and one of the employees that was talking to the officer rings me up and has a very rude attitude. I take my item and walk outside .i start walking away from the store and noticed 2 ulta employees following me.i turn around immediately to return my items because that was so rude and unprofessional of them to do that after i spent maybe +$50 after picking up my mobile order.so i walk in and immediately one of the 2 workers asked “did i need something”with a attitude. I asked her why they followed me out the store she said “the other employee was having an asthma attack”so i ask where the other employee was(mind you she was the one that rang me up) the first employee said “she was in the back of the store” so I turned to head back there and asked her why she followed me out she said “ she was going to her car”(mind you there were 2 of them and there were no cars in the direction I was walking and the other lady told me a whole different story) so anyways she tells me that lie while walking away. Then I’m approached by the other employee that followed I asked her why they followed me she said she didn’t have tell me(I was ok with that) she then said that I had no business being there. I then asked to speak to a manger.so she told the other employee to call the police. I then waited for the police to arrive while I waited.the second the police officer stepped foot in I said “oh you must be here for me” he then asked me to explain my side I started to but before I could both the employee that followed me outside came up to us to join the conversation. they would talk over me so I couldn’t explain my side of the story. The officer explained that they were trespassing me I said that’s fine but can I return all items first he let me, so I get in line and one of the employees that followed me out told me she was the only one that could process the returns.i wasn’t happy about it but I wanted to leave and was on the edge of tears, at this point I’m recording so I could call corporate and have proof of the situation and she didn’t like that I was recording so she claims “she felt threatened and unsafe” just from me taking a video for my safety and for proof.so I felt like that didn’t make any sense because she was standing right next to me when she and her other employee rudely interrupted the conversation me and the officer were having, she also felt comfortable enough to follow me around the store but the second I pull out my phone she feels threatened and unsafe??????. The officer proceeded to make smart comments, and belittle me. I will NEVER BUY FROM ULTA AGIN!!!

I walked into Ulta Beauty Store in Folsom to pick up two items. Items I have not used before. I asked for assistance, but that employee just pointed in the direction to locate the product I was looking for & continued chatting with another employee. Well, I haven't used the product, so I wasn't sure what to look for other than what I had written on my notepad. Felt frustrated & went to look for a staff person to provide assistance. After speaking to an employee, she informed me she was a store vendor, which said she would find me a staff person to assist me. She returned with an employee to assist in locating the two items I was searching for. Interesting, how the employee that was sent to provide assistance was the very first person I approached for help & that employee was the one who pointed in the direction where I should be able to find the product I was looking to purchase. Well, I couldn't find what I was looking for & that employee should have displayed better PR skills & walk with me to assist in finding the product to purchase. Instead, the employee displayed body language as if I bothered her for help. I completed my purchase & departed the store. I remember back in the day that when you entered a store, there were employee's asking if they could assist you with something, friendly, professional interaction with customers & very helpful PR service. Employees working at Ulta Beauty Store in Folsom need to improve in PR skills. Quality customer service is still very important. Suggest management make themselves more available & provide more affective training to staff who lack quality PR skills. The store, itself, isn't bad. The store just lacks quality customer service.
