I’ve been to Top Coat several times and it’s the best place in salt lake for pedicures!! I love their anti gravity chairs, they’re very relaxing. All the nail techs take their time and do such a wonderful job. I highly recommend them!

Probably one of the worst manicures I've ever had - and honestly to no fault of the nail artist (who is an apprentice). She was lovely and I had a wonderful time chatting with her, but she clearly still needed supervision and guidance / oversight that she did not get during the appointment. To begin with, my nails were cut unevenly and way more than I had asked for them to be cut. I did have two broken nails and so was expecting these nails to be shorter than the rest (and had agreed to this), but the rest of the nails were cut way shorter than I had asked for them to be cut and were all cut unevenly. It was clear that there was also a lack of expertise with overlay application once she started to apply the polish. The polish was not going on correctly (bubbles, unevenness, SO MANY FIBRES from the towel / gauze they use to wipe the nails with). She kept having to remove the polish, file down the gel, reapply the polish etc etc. Application wasn't great - polish was touching my cuticles and within two days of my appointment began peeling off from the top because it is over my cuticles..... Two hours into the appointment - I was getting frustrated so decided to stop being picky and just go with it. Within two days of my builder gel overlay with gel polish, the polish started peeling. Very disappointing for the price (which is not much cheaper than seeing a non-apprentice artist). The site promised oversight of the apprentice to which there clearly was none. Wouldn't return to this place.. unless maybe I was seeing a non-apprentice.

10/10 experience! I came in with damaged nails from a previous artist, and instead of just doing what I wanted them to do, Sterling took the time to make sure I knew what was happening to my nails. I was asked over and over if I was in any pain or discomfort, which there was NONE. I can even appreciate the learning atmosphere! My session was a little longer than planned but customer service was on point, and I have never felt more satisfied leaving a salon! Thank you so so much to the wonderful TopCoat nail team🫶

Emily always does the best job!! I give her an inspiration picture and she always goes above and beyond! She helps me pick out the best color for the designs and is always patient and takes her time doing my nail art. She is so good at giving me exactly what I want with her own personal touch on it. I always leave so happy there!! Thank you Emily!! :)

Great service but the policy for how to fix nails when things go wrong doesn't support the customer or the nail tech/apprentice. This is an apprenticeship/school spot. So as you learn you get customers. There are price tier differences but there aren't deep discounts if you get a nail tech who is still learning. I loved the person who did my nails. They weren't confident with acrylic, but I didn't realize that until we were already into it. Since it was new to them someone who was experienced should have been helping- but instead they were left alone. The result was uncured nails with waves and bubbles that were huge on my hand. I felt nervous saying anything- I didn't want to get the person in trouble (again, they offered outstanding customer service and I know they do great nails outside of acrylics- would 100% hire them for non-acrylic work). But I spent a lot of money and people were asking me "what happened" when they saw my nails. So I came back for the free fix and again- no oversight. Just the same awesome person who did my nails before, filing down and repainting my nails.. unfortunately the acrylics were still huge when I left. The person who runs the business was doing nails next to us- didn't speak to me at all and didn't look the work. I felt a lot of pressure and we didn't have a lot of time. I had to travel after our session and when I went to get my acrylics fixed out of state- the nail tech there echoed "What happened". So in the end I spent a lot of money for an uncomfortable experience and I can't go back. Anxiety awkwardness at this point. Which also sucks. If a trainer would have just been assigned to help- this would have been a big win instead of a swan song. I avoid writing negative reviews, but you should know before you go. Buyer beware- it's a lot of money to spend on a poor result

I had an amazing experience at this salon with the sweetest girls! Lauren did my nails, and I absolutely love the tortoise shell print she created on my ring finger. V gave me a pedicure that was incredibly thorough and attentive to my needs. I couldn’t recommend them more highly!

I really like the approach that top coat nail bar takes. You pay more, but It’s clean, well run, and a lovely experience every time. I specifically would recommend the nail techs Drea and Lauren! I’ve gotten some of the most amazing nails by them and they both are truly talented. Drea did the chrome silver gel x set, and Lauren did the purple builders gel set.

I’ve been coming here for years now. I usually get gel pedi’s, but I decided to get a gel x set today and I’m super happy with how they turned out. I love this place and everyone is always super nice and fun to chat with. Quality products, comfy massage chairs, and very clean. Highly recommend!

Extremely expensive, and not much better than anyone else. You're paying for a massage chair, not better nails. They immediately reach for the dremel for both cuticles and gel removal. That should tell you everything.

This pedicure was my first outing after major surgery, so I was really hesitant and exhausted walking in. I’m so grateful we went! It was pricey but so worth the pampering. I felt relaxed for the first time in weeks, and super comfortable and seen, which isn’t always the case for me in salons. The vibes were lovely. Dark, calm space, and femme-presenting people hyping each other up, giving genuine compliments and checking in with each other and with customers. The color looks amazing and I’m sure will last forever, they took the time to really carve out my cuticles and shape the nails. It was my first dry pedicure and I loved how clean the whole process felt. My tech gently communicated each step and each product and made sure I was comfortable along the way, which I also really loved. I don’t even have strong preferences and am used to salons just kinda telling me what I want, so it felt so great to have that autonomy (especially after feeling really weak and not myself in the hospital and during recovery). My mom got a mani from Hope and loved chatting with her. It really was such a blessing seeing her laugh and smile and engaging openly after a really long and hard couple weeks of care-taking for me! Would not recommend. I thought the high prices would mean a relaxing situation. But the music was blasting, it was freezing, the upside chair was killing my back, and I waited 15 mins to pay because their system didn’t work. I was so stressed out during the entire situation.

I have been coming here for almost 3 months now regularly. Venezia does an amazing job every time. I always leave with an amazing new set of nails. The receptionists are always super nice and friendly. It has turned into something I look forward to regularly and I highly recommend them to anyone who asks.

The only place I will ever go. The people who work there were very knowledgeable and friendly from the start. ( I used to do hair for 20 years and they welcomed me in at the very end of the day. When you could be tired and miserable, they were super responsive and happy.) I can tell it's a great environment to work in. Great ambiance. Incredible artistry, really quality and upscale product. They even had complimentary snacks! The chairs are comfortable. Everything is super clean and sanitary. Very professional. They went above and beyond, especially Lome! Thank you thank you thank you! My nails look and feel incredible!

I got a hard gel manicure from top coat that cost over $80. I was told hard gel lasts 3-4 weeks and scheduled a fill 3 weeks out. I was told I had a 2 week period to get any chips or issues fixed free of charge (their mend policy). A week after my appointment, my nails started chipping and popping off. I contacted Top Coat before that 2 week period ended to request the mend policy as 6 nails had popped off and 2 had chipped. They denied me the mend service and told me I’d have to pay for a full set again. Very disappointed that an $80+ manicure didn’t even last a week and that they did not follow through with the mend policy they supposedly offered. Would not recommend!

I have been going for over 1 year to get my nails done by Lome and she has done a FABULOUS job at making sure my natural nails grew. She cares about the health of the nails and not just the pretty designs. Her apprentices love her and you can tell that she is passionate about her job. I seriously cannot think of another nail tech that I trust my nails with. I’m really picky about nail designs and she always delivers! Recently, she did my valentines nails and my nails have never looked healthier!! Thanks to Lome at Topcoat Nail Bar, my nails/cuticles are the healthiest they have ever been! Even though Topcoat is not the cheapest in the valley, I get what I pay for every time since I started seeing Lome over a year ago. I am a fan!!!
