Tarik is very combative and, after 2 or so years, I’m done trying to make this work. I never liked how my color would come out, and anytime I mentioned it to him he said it was my fault and accused me of putting box dye in my hair. So I stopped getting my color done here, but I liked the cuts. The cuts were always consistently good, except for the last time, when I asked for a simple root touch up and trim. Neither came out well, but I couldn’t tell at the moment because the girl curled my hair (after I asked her not to). I reached out to Tarik after the fact and he was clearly bothered but said he would have to fix it. He went out of the country shortly thereafter, but then he dodged me for almost 3 months. He finally replied today and said I could come, but he would only fix the cut. He obviously doesn’t need or want my business, so I’m taking it elsewhere.

I had excellent experience with Joane &Tk. Joane did my hair color and highlight. And l loved it so much & I had so much compliment , definitely come back again. They are great team.

Not a place to go if you're male I guess, I was turned down immediately and told me they were about to close which was a complete lie. I actually had long hair and I wanted to keep it so I had a few questions. But is wtv the guys next door did a pretty good job so it turned out alright.

I came in with super thick medium-long hair. I asked for some short layers and a trim. He chopped my hair so uneven I had to get it fixed to even it out, the hair stylist at another salon that fixed it was horrified with how bad of a job he did. My hair was uneven, knotted up so bad it hurt so bad to brush, and it took all of 10 minutes for him . Theres no way hair as thick as mine should’ve taken only 10 minutes. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL. I would literally recommend any place but this salon. How embarrassing.

When I need a blow out to last, this is the place! He is the only stylist that can add volume to my blowout and have it last a week!

2 years later and I still come once a week. Tarek is an EXPERT and my hair has changed drastically for the better ever since coming here. I am so grateful for this man. My hair has never been healthier and I trust him with whatever he recommends. It’s challenging finding professionalism in the hair industry in Chicago-however, TK’s salon has exceeded my expectations. He gives you his undivided attention and listens to what your concerns are. I don’t trust many others cutting my hair because when I ask for an inch, it’s never an inch and my hair takes years to even grow an inch. Tarek does what the client asks for. He’s on time and works diligently to meet your expectations. His pricing is beyond reasonable. I recommend TK for his blowouts, coloring and styling especially.

Best salon I have ever gone to! The owner himself will cut and style your hair. He takes the time to understand your hair type and makes excellent recommendations! If you have thick and/or long hair you can 100% trust him!

I got a pixie cut after growing my hair out for so long. I cannot believe how wonderful these men were. They were very complimenting. And did exactly what I wanted! Definitely going back.

I have to say best place I’ve been to in years I was very hesitant in the beginning I definitely judge the book by its cover if you go here, give it a chance I’m Puerto Rican and have curly thicker hair and thought he was not going to know how to handle my hair boy was I wrong when he said you are in good hand I was like okayyy but boy was he right I’m going back again and going to bring my mother here thank you I will Go on my hair journey with you

I went to him after a completely botched highlight and cut somewhere else knowing that it would be near impossible to completely fix it. He managed to balance out the colors and gave me a final result that was flawless. He also was able to blend out the layers in my hair without sacrificing too much length. He was very kind and honest about the expectations. Would recommend

My first time here and TK did an excellent job!! Very personable! I definitely recommend him to anyone. I showed him a picture and he did exactly what I asked. My hair feels sooo much healthier and smooth. Prices are extremely reasonable! His reviews are accurate his blow outs are top tier! Will be booking again in 8 weeks!

I got my hair dyed by another place and it was way darker than I liked it and every place I called told me they could only bleach and renew or strip the color to orange until I found this place, the second I talked on the phone he knew exactly what to do and how to fix it WITHOUT bleaching it or making it orange. He colored my hair into a BEAUTIFUL lighter brown and turned out WONDERFUL. Best experience I have ever had and I’ve been to top dollar places. I will be back and will tell everyone about this place!!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would, I have been visiting this salon for over 6 years and I don’t remember receiving a similar service ever in the past, Tarik is always on time, you don’t have to worry about waiting whether you book an appointment through the app or text, he is always accommodating beside being talented whatever you ask for you get, I love my hair color!!! Thank you so much for the wonderful work you do! I know I can always depend on walking out of your salon feeling and looking my best!

This hair salon is really overpriced!!!I have shorts hair practically almost bald the type of hair that I have is coarse curly and I believe I got charged 130 for a Blonde full die which is insane considering that I don’t have that much hair and it doesn’t include styling just a blowout but not really I don’t recommend going here if you are African-American because you can go somewhere else where they will charge way cheaper and include everything not just certain things.
