Best color ever! I hadn’t been to Summer before or had my hair colored in almost a year. I was hoping it would come out good (blonder) and WOW did she deliver. Summer used the perfect shade and placement of blond. I never thought I could be so blond without overall color and this was even better because it left depth to my hair and was exceptionally easy and natural to grow out. I like to think that I find the hidden gems in San Diego before they get discovered and don’t do many reviews unless I find one. But let me tell you that Summer is the treasure of all treasures. After getting my color done by Summer, I sincerely started to feel happy and uplifted every time I caught my reflection in a mirror. It absolutely made me feel more “noticed” (if anyone can relate). I highly suggest getting into Summer at The Parlour in Encinitas the first chance you get for all your hair color needs. Summer knows her color and how to make you look amazing.

Paige is FANTASTIC! I haven’t had the best experience at other local salons, and was hesitant to try the Parlour, but I am so happy I did. Paige was very kind, enthusiastic and professional. Walking in, I was uncertain of what I wanted to have done with my hair. Within just a few minutes Paige had an action plan & gave me the price details before she started which I appreciated. No surprises with her! She’s honest and upfront, and let’s you know step by step what she’s going to do. I also enjoyed the interaction between Malia, Paige and Shannon. You can tell they’re there for you, but also each other. It gave me even more confidence that my hair was in capable hands. Best of all, my hair feels amazing. I am in love! So worth the $ because of the hair, and definitely the experience. Thank you Paige for my now shiny, healthy, rich chocolate hair! 😍

The Parlour is decorated with modern art, plant walls and natural wood interiors. There is a table that offers free bottled water and Kind bars which is a nice little touch. Upon arrival they also offer coffee, tea or water to enjoy during your appointment, along with the WiFi password. Shannon has been my stylist for several years now. She is amazing with color and very pleasant to talk to. Her ability to foil hair leaves me in awe. She is able to cut, color and blow dry my hair in an hour and half. She is like a Hairdressing Ninja. Paige and Malia are absolutely delightful as well! These ladies work as a team and always help each other out whenever needed. The Parlour (as my 23 year old coworker would say) is a total vibe!

I had an amazing experience here and highly recommend for first timers hesitate to color their hair. I had a partial Balayage done by Paige and her Assistant- both of which were extremely caring, thoroughly explained the process, and catered to my needs. I’m incredibly great full this Salon was able to book me the day before graduation, just in time to have the most beautiful hair. 🖤

I owe Shannon, Jenna, and Scott a huge thank you. After years of intermittent, simple all over color, I was looking for a change with my first bayalage. From the first phone call, the team was warm and attentive. It's easy to see that Shannon invests a tremendous amount of care and energy into each and every client, as well as the development of her team of stylists. The salon was super easy to access and a very pleasant place to hang while you transform into your new hair self! I can't wait to see them again!

Leaving the salon and feeling like a million bucks. I found a wonderful new stylist and I’m loving my new, darker color for winter. Salon owner Shannon at @The Parlour Inc. in Encinitas worked a miracle on my sun-and-swim soaked blonde and brassy tresses with this beautiful hair sourcery! She was up for a challenge and used four different techniques to get this beautiful, rich color and dimension for autumn season. I’ve already booked my next appointment with her. Would highly recommend Shannon for even the most complex color assignment. Her cut was equally gorgeous and she really goes the extra mile for her clients. She made sure I felt BEAUTIFUL and was the best version of myself coming out of her chair. Worth every penny.

Words cannot express how grateful I am for Shannon's expertise as a stylist. She does a superb job with hair color, whether a client wants to try something new or stick with enhancing his/her natural color. She brings a fresh approach to color & cuts, implementing the latest techniques. Her salon is my happy place and the decor is so inviting. It is a wonderful collaboration with her husband, Scott, and exhibits the artistry and vision that they both had when creating the space for the salon. I love walking into The Parlour Salon. It’s so organic and uplifting. My stylist Shannon Arendsen always has me leaving feeling confident & amazing. My hair and texture are always so unruly. But she knows exactly what suits me. Whether it’s the balayage or how my hair needs to be cut and styled. I always leave with amazing products she recommends for my hair texture. I originally went in a few months ago for a hair cut and layers, I have very long hair that is thick and unpredictable (sometimes curly, wavy or frizzy). The person that originally cut my hair did a great job, and listened to my concerns. The layers came out good, however I came in a second time for a trim and layers and their new person Kaitlyn that helped this time did an even better job. I always get nervous cutting my hair, however Kaitlyn did an amazing job with my layers and keeping the length of my hair long as requested. This place is very nice, clean and the people who work here are easy to talk to. I would definitely recommend coming here, and are also very responsive and professional. Thanks again!

Katelyn was amazing! I came in for a haircut, i wanted to keep my hair length and add layers. She sat down and discussed at length my vision. She was sweet and professional. The salon itself was and clean and cute. Everybody was very helpful. I'll definitely see Katelyn again.

Shannon Arendsen is my stylist. She is professional and highly educated in cut and color. This past year and a half I have transitioned from coloring my hair to growing the grey. Shannon has made the transition a smooth process. My hair was long, reaching to my mid-back. She cut it short, a little past my chin, in a super stylish cut. I get complements daily! Shannon has been coloring and cutting my hair for 20 years. I travel from WA state just to see her. She’s the only stylist that has ever been able to razor cut my hair. She has also transitioned my hair from color to gray. She’s the BEST!

Shannon never disappoints! She’s magic. ❤️ I always feel like a brand new person when I leave. I love my color balayage and my cut. She blew it out perfectly. I had it done yesterday and already I’ve got tons of compliments even with my mask 😷 😂 Her assistant Paige who helped with my toning washing and curling my hair was gentle, patient, polite and very professional. This salon is a hidden gem. Tucked away near Smart and Final, you'd never expect what you see when you walk in.. a farmhouse modern, comfortable salon with some serious talent. I've been coming here for 6 years and I have been really happy with my hair. Pricing is also very reasonable. It doesn't hurt that they also server coffee, tea and wine!

When I called The Parlour and explained to Scott that I needed color correction for highlights (from a different salon) gone wrong, he advised I come in that day for a consultation with Kaitlyn (sp). I am so glad I did! She presented some options and talked me through them. She then did her magic. Kaitlyn is now my hair queen.

I love this salon! It is so beautifully and has such a relaxing atmosphere. The art, plants and of course the stylists!! I have been going to shannon the owner for years and she is amazing.
