Stay away from this business. I went in for a massage yesterday and the masseuse chatted with me about pressure at the beginning and I told him to “get in there”. Now I’m at an instant care the next morning unable to raise my arm above my head and my shoulder, back, and side is a mass of dark bruises. It’s not my first time there, I’ve gotten deep tissues massages before, and I’m not afraid of pressure, this was something else. During the massage I kept gasping in pain, moving away from him, grabbing the massage table, I asked for less pressure, and told him to stop, but he kept chuckling at me then telling me to “breathe through it” which I foolishly did. I had asked for cupping and he couldn’t get them to stay on me so they kept falling off of me during the massage. I thought he was working out my knots and that I was just sore from working out but now I am having a doctor look at me to see what he did to me. I canceled my membership there afterwards and they need a “full thirty days notice” to stop billing you so not only did I have an awful experience that is costing me more time, money, and pain, I also have a credit for a massage that I definitely will not use or give to anybody because if the sheer incompetence I was put through. I couldn’t be more disappointed with my experience with this business and I can only hope that this review helps to keep people away.

Yikes. It’s really bad here. Quality is inconsistent. All the good masseuses leave. The ones left are all pretty bad and either lazy and cut your time short hoping you don’t notice or purposely use their elbows to painfully massage you so they can mentally check out. I’ve given Now SO many chances. 5/10 experiences have been awful. The other 5 are only because I only saw Marco and Kieran, both of whom are now gone.

I’m very active and also spend a lot of time at a desk - I’m tense everywhere! Aaron Read is very intuitive (and strong) and able to alleviate a lot of tension and stress in my muscles without discomfort. He is an excellent masseuse!

I’ve been going here about a year now and continue to have a great experience here. I’ve been to several different massage places around LA, and Reanna here is my favorite. Even though I see her every month, she makes sure to go through what I’m looking for with each massage. She’s the best and love being a member here for a slight discount as well. I’ve also taken a friend of mine here for the prenatal massage who enjoyed her experience as well. Highly recommend!

I went in for the first time for a massage and the experience was overall so calming and pleasant. The place is ambient and clean and theres ample enough room to hang out in peqce while you wait. I had Erin and did an 80min with cupping and a scalp renewal. Erin was attentive and her massage techniques were purely relaxing with the perfect amount of pressure. It was my first time cupping and I loved the process. Happy, and dangerous, to find a place so close to home -I’ll definitely be back. Thank you, Erin!

I’ve been going to The Now in Silverlake once a month for about 6 months now, and choose to see Oscar each time. He is pure magic! For years I’ve had to see the chiropractor about every 10-14 days to try and manage SI joint/Sciatica/Psoas pain. Since my first massage I’ve not had to go to the chiropractor once! Plus the prices are affordable, the ambiance serene, the tables are warm, and the place smells amazing. If I could double my stars I would.

On 11/23, I had the best therapeutic massage by Erin that I have had in a long time . Her pressure, her technique especially with the way she does cupping, was what I needed . I felt like I was floating right after, I appreciated it because I’ve been having a hard time mentally and emotionally, the massage helped me sleep well that night. I enjoy the ambience and ocean music when I visit the now, its my favorite massage place in silverlake

The best present I gifted myself in 2024 was signing up for a membership at The Now. I have chronic neck and shoulder pain and found myself immobile due to excessive screen time (writer on deadline) back in November. I called The Now, explained my issue, and they recommended I schedule a session with Alexander Chiu. It was the most therapeutic massage I have ever received - I felt like I was working with a physical therapist. I signed up for "The Stretch" for 80 mins and included Herbal Heat Therapy enhancement. I left a new woman, virtually pain- free. I try to see him whenever I am in LA (don't live there full-time). I was fortunate enough to see him immediately after a non-stop cross-country flight last Sunday (12/29). I was stiff, sore, and pretty much felt wretched. I told him I had just gotten off a plane and he tailored the session accordingly. After just 50 mins (that was all that was available), I left feeling incredible. While my massages with him focus on treatment, I'm sure he is excellent for anyone looking *just* to relax as well. I am so grateful to have discovered THE NOW and Alexander Chiu. As a professional massage therapist of 20 years, I love getting massages at The Now in Silverlake. The environment is calm and serene, and I like the fact that they don't play spa music--the soundtrack is calming waves/ocean sounds, which I find very relaxing. My favorite therapist is Oscar C. A true healer, you can tell he genuinely cares about the work he does. His massage is intuitive, relaxing, and deep when needed. I'm very happy I found this place, and Oscar! Note that parking can be tricky, so arrive early to avoid the stress of last minute parking challenges.

I went in for a massage on 11/19 with Oscar. It was absolutely phenomenal! My body was a mess and I came out feeling 1000lbs lighter. He is so intuitive and knowledgable, he recommended a couple stretches for me to practice at home. Definitely my sanctuary in the middle of a busy life.

I had paid for an 80 minute massage credit and was given a 9pm appointment, and during the massage I was told the last massage can’t go past the 50 minutes. I would not have booked a 9pm appointment if that was clarified ahead of time. Not a relaxing experience. Not on the massage therapist but if you’re running a wellness business, the front desk is as important to the overall experience. It’s also important to own your mistakes.

I had perhaps the best massage in my life a few weeks ago at The Now in Silver Lake. Reanna knew intuitively just how much pressure was needed in every area. I was able to fully relax and turn my brain off the entire time. I will be booking again with her soon.

Never really gotten a massage before but I highly recommend this place. It felt just right for the time I was there for. 50 mins seems to be the average length but there is an option for longer time. I plan on going usually at least once a month and for the price it's worth it. I love the vibe and setup. Note: parking can be a menace so arrive accordingly. 10/10

So I’ve been going here for years and I love it so much. The ambiance is always so nice and calm. You do need to get there early so you can find parking, but I’ve always managed to find it! I see Reanna and she is my absolute fav. I’ve tried many different therapists there , but she really does an amazing job that not only is the best massage I’ve ever had but it’s consistent every time! Would highly reccomend. I’m a member here and I love it- I wish they would bring back some more free member perks! But would highly recommend

Loved my experience today with Benjamin, he created a custom 50min The NOW to meet my body's needs. I opted for the Gua Sha and Hemp Balm, and had a relaxing and therapeutic session. Beautiful decor, I love the rustic and modern space blended so artfully.

I had an incredible time at The NOW! I went for the 80-minute "The Healer" massage with Brendan Connelly, and he did an amazing job. I walked out feeling like a million bucks. The place itself is super cute, clean, and relaxing. The front desk staff were really nice and friendly, too! Parking was a bit tricky since it's all street parking, but that's just LA for you. Just make sure to give yourself some extra time to find a spot. The prices are super reasonable, especially if you get the monthly membership. I'll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend checking this place out!

I was given a gift certificate for this place. I am grateful I was able to test out their services before committing. I am happy to say NOW Massage did not disappoint. The atmosphere is serene and the front desk attendants are lovely. My massage therapist's name was , MARCO. I put his name in all caps because this brother was so goood . I want to shout praise for him from the rooftops. Unfortunately, I know this might mean you all might make it harder to book with him, but that's cool. You should benefit from his compassion and expertise as much as I do.

I am picky about my massages and tbh almost cancelled my Now membership until I found Oscar. Oscar is a gifted massage therapist and healer. I get the stretch 80 min with deep tissue enhancement. Oscar is intuitive, strong pressure when needed, friendly, and most important- you can feel the healing intention in his work. Highly recommend booking your session with Oscar.
