I never write reviews in this mood but I’m so disappointed in my first time experience. A. They only accept cash but they ask about a card details to sign up! What is the point of this?! B. The prices are far too high considering they don’t even offer customers a glass of water. C. Dani done my haircut. She was absolutely nice but not listening well to do her task, so the result was unpleasant. I asked her to cut for long layers to shoulders but at the end all are in the same length around my ears, even though I showed her a picture to know what exactly I mean. It was disappointing with the high price they charge people. I expect them to be detail-oriented. It was my first experience at this location. I think young people here should be aware of their impressions on their clients to keep them coming back. I don’t know if they have managed observing their performance, but I know how a business runs better than this. I am sorry to pay $90 cash then felt like a middle school nerd in thanksgiving party😏😏 Now, it takes 6 months after the above review and nobody from the salon cared at least to say apologize!! Or say what was bothered you? That would be a lack of management and supervision of customer service in this business. Please, please don not waste your money to trust people who they don't care about you and have a fake facade in the google search for {"Best hair cut near me"}.

A good hairstylist is not hard to come by, but an amazing, personable, and kind hairstylist is nearly impossible to find. Dani is charismatic, professional, and a perfectionist. I’m new to the area so I was skeptical on where to go but I was not disappointed. Thank you Dani & Priscilla!

Today was the first time Sheriene cut my hair and it came out beautiful!! She understood exactly what I wanted and was very professional. Highly recommend.

**they will charge your card without telling you** I never leave bad reviews but I cannot believe this. I had an appointment there last week and unfortunately right beforehand I caught covid and I called to let them know. The man I spoke to was like "okay...so? Are you saying you want to cancel?" I was shocked - does this mean they would rather have someone come in with covid than have them cancel? I understand losing the time for them is bad, but would you rather have me come in coughing? After hanging up I felt really odd about the convo but didn't have the energy to think too much about it. Cut to...today (a little over a week later) I check my credit card account and they have charged it $185. For literally NO SERVICES. I called to inquire and he just says "Yep the owner makes the decisions and I'll see if she's willing to take the charge off but no guarantees". Ummm what? Due to their late cancel policy. I asked him if they would have let me come in with covid. Of course not, and they also have COVID policies where you sign saying you will not come in with it or symptoms of it. And yet they have the audacity to charge my card $185?? For a place that denies the ability to even use your credit card they sure seem to love charging it for literally nothing! Such a scam.

Calling is an issue, repeated message letting ne know they were not available, yet i should be available for them when they call? Waiting area had small couch that had coats and purses strewn and no where to sit? No consultation at all, and as it turned out had to come back for a fix. Still a mess, will b letting this grow out a bit and finding a new place. At my return in talking with stylist another stylist jumped in, not positive not helpful and confrontational. In fact during my haircut she was gossiping about Tom, a client who had just left….not complimentary things said. Certainly not professional Saw other posts and yes, only cash?? Sketchy!!!!

I absolutely never writes reviews but I’m so disappointed in my first time experience. A. They only accept cash and have an ATM in the salon. Whaaa? B. The prices are far too high considering they don’t even offer customers tea, coffee or water. I had my hair done by Peache, she was wonderful however there were some issues regarding what they charged me via how I booked my appt online. I never want to book an appt online, I had called twice and both times I was told to go on their website. Fine. My results. Are fine... I’m not unhappy but consumer beware. And go somewhere else. I grew up in Madison and this place just feels like they’re charging NYC prices in a suburb for no real reason.

I had been scheduled for a haircut and was delighted to get the BEST and most relaxing shampoo of my life! Peach is fantastic at the sink and I am very pleased with the haircut she gave me as well! I feel 10 lbs. lighter! She was welcoming and friendly and I will definitely be back. The place is at such a great location to boot! Thanks for a great service!

I love Loft Solon! Got my last few haircuts there with a different stylist each time and I have never been disappointed. Everyone is very professional, knowledgeable, and personable! Will definitely continue booking with them.

I've gotten my hair done by Peach twice now and absolutely love it each time. She does an amazing job! Months after I still get compliments on my hair. She is fabulous.

Sheriene is the best colorist I've even seen. I booked her after seeing her reviews and she did not disappoint. I had my hair done elsewhere and hated the color Sheriene fixed it and made it look stunning. I can't atop looking at it in the mirror. Thank you Sheriene!!!

Bad communication over the phone - wife called to make an appointment at 12 and was told they had no availability. I called about 20 minutes later and they were available at 1. I asked how much for a simple trim and was told that a cut and wash was $85. I booked the appointment for my wife and she arrived 5-10 minutes early. They confirmed her name and told her the appointment is for 1:30. I called back about this and was told they weren't sure if they could be available for 1. Who ever worked on her hair did a great job and charged half the price I was told over the phone. Your mileage may vary...

I have been to many salons over the years and the loft is by far the best place I have ever been to. The attention to detail and the fact that the owner sherilene genuinely listens to the client and instinctively knows what to do is incredible. I have never gotten so many compliments on my hair since going to the loft!!!

No one will ever touch my hair other then Sheriene. She is an artist who is the very best in the business. I LOvE LOVE LOvE my hair every single time. The consistency is something I’ve never experienced at other salons. I came Here years ago with brassy hair and Sheriene took the care to make It phenomenal. Love the Loft. Love spending my afternoon there with Sheriene and her team. So fun with excellent results

Tried this salon for the 1st and last time this past weekend. Made 2 appts (cut & toner) which were confirmed via email, but when I arrived the owner actually argued with me that I didn't have the appt (I had to give my credit card when I made the appt). Then after being told over the phone that the owner was an expert in what I was trying to achieve she told me once I was there that she had no idea what to do (although I appreciated her honesty I felt I was deceived by the person answering the phone). Furthermore, she had someone else cut my hair and now it is horribly uneven. $150 later and I'm worse off then before I went in.

First of all let me just say, Sheriene made me feel right at home when I walked in. My hair was an absolute mess, and she completely fixed it. First time.... new to neighborhood... very professional and very competent... did the best she could after taking a beard trimmer to my head a couple of months ago.... Her preference was to cut how "I" wanted it rather than using her skills and experience to do what she thought would look best. Hence the missing star.

I just moved to the area and wanted to give The Loft a try and they did not disappoint! My hair was so awful post quarantine and there was a lot of breakage. When I walked in I wasn’t even sure what I wanted to do. Sheriene used her magical powers on my hair which was really damaged and created a signature color without damaging my hair. The color is STUNNING. Naz cut my hair beautifully and it’s so light and healthy! I absolutely loved my experience and highly recommend these awesome ladies.

I went to the loft and got a color and cut by Sherene for the first time. I was blown away by the results! She transformed my drab grown out hair and I've been getting compliments on the color and cut since. I don't know how she was able to piece together all my random thoughts into exactly what I was looking for. Also, the salon is super clean. Great experience all around!!

Best stylists in Morris county! Went in with damaged hair and Sheriene made the impossible...possible. She is extremely talented and you can tell she is very passionate about what she does.The salon is immaculately clean and everyone makes you feel at home. They even offer wine other than their beverages. Would highly recommend without hesitation.

I came to Sheriene strictly based on feedback on social media. I recently had my hair colored by another salon and was distraught at the outcome. Sheriene color corrected my hair beautifully while providing a friendly, hospitable experience. I’ll definitely be going back. Great hidden gem! 👍🏻👌🏼

I found The Loft after having a terrible hair cut when I first moved to Madison, NJ from Palo Alto, California. As you can imagine, I was already going thru big changes with leaving my home, and now I had to deal with this butchered hair that was horrible. And right then I discovered The Loft Salon. Sheriene made the impossible possible. She not only fixed it, it looked better than it ever had. She incredibly talented, professional and probably one of the hardest working people I know. Hair is her passion and when you love what you do, it really shows. She is definitely one of the best stylist I have ever had.

It took nearly 20 years to find a stylist as good as Sheriene at Loft Salon. Her skills with her cutting tools and her eye for hair and style are unmatched in the area. She is on schedule, professional, consistent and always kind and pleasant. I now look forward to going to have my hair done. It is so nice to have “good” hair. With Sheriene cutting my hair it is easy for me to make it look good. She is really good at what she does and I am sure she won’t disappoint.

Please be cautious - charged a 14 year old over $600 dollars for a color change. Stated she informed of pricing however this is not true. Web site prices do not include an "hourly rate". All of the other BAD REVIEWS appear to be accurate - will unknowingly charge extraordinary high price, does not accept credit cards, sign is posted in Salon "due to increasing credit card convenience fees, only accept cash" (why would a Business owner only accept cash??) has an ATM for you to give her cash (why have an ATM in a salon??), she refuses to give a receipt for cash paid (why refuse to give a paying customer a receipt), states less money was given to her then was actually given. This - to a 14 year old. Please be careful . . . get the price in writing from owner before you proceed

Sheriene was amazing! I came in with completely discolored/damaged hair (and was terrified of having another bad hair dye job) and she fixed everything. It looks beautiful! Super affordable for everything she did to my hair. She was kind, listened, and knows color! Can't say enough good things about my experience here. I'll be recommending to all of my friends.

The Loft is amazing. I have been going to the same salon for three years and found that they were not doing what I needed. Decided to change things up and landed at the Loft in Madison. My color was stagnant and needed correction. I put my hair in Sherienes hands and could not be happier. My hair looks AMAZING. The color with subtle highlights is just what I needed and I feel great. Lots of compliments and my daughter and sister in law have both booked appts as well. Thank you!!
