I just left the salon and had to make sure I left a review immediately. Joy is now my new go-to hairstylist! She is attentive to detail, knowledgeable, fun, informative and basically any other positive adjective you could hope for in a hairstylist! I could go on and on. She listened to my wants and made sure we were on the same page before getting started. She also made sure to explain each step, the products she used, answer questions and offer many tips! Money was well spent and I think her prices are very reasonable considering how pleasant she is and how hard she works to ensure her client’s satisfaction. I couldn’t be happier! Can’t wait to see her again later this year 🥰

Overpriced. The stylist I had definitely did not give me the one on one curl services I was expecting. Felt rushed, while she was servicing her three other clients. For a 250 cut, I expect undivided attention and for you to take your time going curl by curl. I wanted a balayage effect which was around 250 also and instead I got one color with my roots left out. I agreed to not touch the roots since they were damaged, however I wanted to see the effect of going from dark to light sort of like highlights. Its literally just one light color with my dark roots and I paid over 500$… curly cuts are a scam.

I couldn’t ask for a better salon. Sharita is awesome and makes me feel welcome and at ease every appointment, she gets my hair right and makes sure it’s to my liking. Also, there are snacks! It’s great finding a stylist that caters for my hair and works with me to achieve my hair goals.

I got the the standard wash n go for returning clients which included a wash and condition and I prepaid $165. My stylist was very nice and knowledgeable but after the appointment I was charged an additional $44 because they said I was considered a new client again? I ended up spending $215 on a wash n go that frizzed in the front v badly the same day. I was hoping the style would last at least a week and it didn’t last two days. I really wanted to make this place a staple since it’s hard to find black stylists but the price is definitely not worth the service.

I cannot rave enough about my time with Sharita & The Loft Medford. Not only is the salon itself amazing, their focus on curl education & empowerment is phenomenal, but all their stylists are equipped with knowledge, patience, & integrity. I am from Seattle but got married in Boston. I worked with Sharita for both my bridal trial about 4 months ahead of my wedding as well as the day-of updo. She listened to all my requests and concerns, looked at all the pictures & created something magical. I am so grateful to have been her client & I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone, but especially curly brides!

I had a great experience with Joy today. Her approach was confident and warm, asking questions to ensure we were on the same page with expectations. I have curly shoulder-length hair and needed a trim with shape. Joy gave me a cut and style that was beautiful! The salon was clean and bright, professional and comfortable at the same time. I shave been a loyal customer of the Loft Hair Studio, and specifically Sharita, for more than four years. I love the service that I receive at this salon. Sharita and the other stylists are very professional and respectful of your time. Unlike many other salons, they do not overbook; thereby causing you to be at the salon for copious hours. There is also a great online tool for scheduling appointments and they accept most forms of payment. The level of professionalism alone is a reason to be a loyal customer, but the quality of service is hands down the best that I have received in any other salon. I have suffered from hair challenges over the years related to hair loss and thinning. Throughout my journey, Sharita has provided moral support and cared for my hair with a nurturing hand. She truly has a talent for bringing the best out of your natural hair and educating you to achieve successful results on your own. I wholeheartedly recommend the salon and Sharita in particular for clients who seek beautiful hair and renewed confidence in their natural crown!

I visited The Hair Loft for the first time to have a wash and set on my natural hair. The experience met my expectations. The atmosphere was that of a modern quaint boutigue. Peasantly calm. I particulary enjoyed the privacy of the wash and dry area. My stylist managed my process with finese and care. I was more than pleased with my the outcome and I have my next appointment booked. You cannot go wrong if you choose The Hair Loft in Medford.

I would give this place 5 stars but it is really very difficult to get an appointment and they are expensive. When you get an appointment, the hair care and knowledge gained is great.

I'm late to post this review, but better late than never. I've been here twice and haven't left disappointed. Both times they exceeded my expectations with the cut and the styling. Because my curls were so hydrated and defined my hair held all throughout the week with having to do the bare minminal for touch ups in between. The first visit was in March of this year- my hair was pretty damaged for various reasons. I agreed to chop out a significant amount of hair- Sharita couldn't have done a better job and gave me exactly what I asked for (even though i probably should have taken off just a bit more). I made loads of progress and had lots of growth in between my second visit and my hair was overall in a much better place than it was in march. My most recent visit on November 19th with Joy was absolutely EVERYTHING! I had her cut some stacked layers in which really did my curls some justice in the area that I was looking too see improvement in (and it looks far better than the cut on the head model that i provided the sample pic of) My hair has never looked this good- EVER!!!! Super excited to go back in a few months. I would highly recommend using the products that they suggest- it really made a world of a difference for my hair! Thank you ladies, I entirely appreciate y'all and the service you provide.

K. was unbelievably amazing. I got the curly cut that so many other salons had failed to give me, but on top of that I got an amazing experience with a wonderful person. She took the time to educate me, and gave me the most soothing and wonderful hair washing I have ever experienced. Can't go anywhere else now. I'm spoiled.

Amazing salon! I have no idea what has happened to my hair over the years (probably heat damage, stress, diet, and coloring?) but it’s completely different and does not curl the same. I came here hoping for some relief as I try to get them healthy again. My stylist was very attentive to what I wanted but also threw in her expertise to give me an amazingly personalized cut and color and product advice. She was also very friendly! Would recommend! The rest of the staff was also kind an friendly 😊

Both my daughters are mixed. They have very curly hair. They shaped my oldest daughter's hair perfectly. They recommended great products that I still use for the past year. And now my youngest is getting her haircut soon too! They know how to shape and cut curly hair!

DO NOT PRE PAY!!! I am looking for work. I cut my hair short during the pandemic myself and need it evened out, styled, and deep conditioned. My natural hair is still uneven. Did not realized til after I left and was checking out the length in the back, physically with my hand once in the house, not just with a mirror. The curl did not hold on one side of my head. Claimed she could not see what I was seeing, that the amount of product the made my hair crunchy would be easily scrunched out, and I am a breath away from calling my bank to withdraw the funds I prepaid in tip. I was early, didn't complain, asked for what I wanted, and made the mistake to trust that this individual had any level of expertise. SAVE YOUR MONEY. I used money I saved for this appointment and I don't have the money to pay to see another stylist to get my hair cut again. So it is going to be me, some scissors, and prayer. Joy is not the one to see. Don't do it. Not only disappointed, angry that I now need to figure out how to fix my head so I can interview. I gave 2 stars because it is a easy to get to location and a nice space. UPDATE: I got a call from the shop owner inviting me to come back and she would do my hair instead to try to rectify my horrible experience. I told her I did not want to return to her shop after what occurred. She offered and did refund my money. Thank you!

I went to The Loft and saw their curl specialist Joy to do a hair cut and give my hair some serious TLC. She gave me an amazing cut and style, and showed me the best ways to maintain my hair and the best product to use for my type. She also showed me how to style my hair on my own. Best curly salon I've ever been to. I highly recommend for curly women, men, and children. She will definitely be my regular stylist now.

Selina at the Rhode Island location did her thing. I was a bit skeptical at first because her hair type is different than mine but her talent blew me away. She is well seasoned in cutting and styling all types of natural hair. My cut is amazing and I finally found a stylist who I can trust. I brought products that I trust by 2 Curls 1 Mission which were a part of the detoxing, deep conditioning and styling process. The products along with her techniques worked very well together.
