I've loved my time at Hideout. Lyric has been my stylist for a year and a half. However, the company just sent out an email that casually mentioned a price hike to $49 for a short cut. This means I would be spending between $400 - $550 a year just for maintenance haircuts. $37/month is not worth it. Honestly good vibes, especially with Lyric. It's just been price hike after hike and this is the tipping point for me. 💔

I didn’t even have an appointment and Shelby gave me the choppy ‘90s Meg Ryan haircut of my dreams! The staff was all very kind, the prices are great, and I love my cut! It’s the exact style I asked for, but perfectly suited to my specific hair type. Thank you, Shelby! I’ll definitely be back.

I have been here many times and every time I ask for Ash. She is always helpful when recommending how to style and care for my cut/color. Other staff members are always friendly and the environment is very welcoming.

My daughter and I recently got our hair done by Shelby. We both left in LOVE with our new hair. My daughter got color and cut and looks amazing, and I did a major chop and feel so much better. It’s perfect! I get so nervous going to a new place but the environment and people here made it great! 10 stars for Shelby.

I had been going to Chelsea since she was at Rudy's. Now that she has her own shop at 2 locations, her team cuts the hair of everyone in my family. She now does my wife's hair and does a great job. I have gotten haircuts from Shelby for years now and she is simply the best.

I have been going to this salon for haircuts since they opened and I'm always was happy with their service. This last time, I decided I wanted to change things up and booked a balayage with Christina. I wanted my balayage to be more subtle and my natural color to still be the main focus with some color throughout - has reference photos as well. I left unhappy with the color as I didn't think it matched my skin tone and it was a lot of color making my hair look two toned. Because I was so unhappy with the results, I decided to use their redo policy. I booked a consultation with Macks to discuss the best approach for reworking my hair. This consultation was rescheduled twice but I left the consultation feeling good. I just received a call that my appointment needs to be rescheduled yet again. However they rescheduled me with a different stylist. I let them know I already had a consult with Macks but they said that everything will be communicated to the stylist working on my hair. I called back to cancel because I feel like I'm just being tossed around to stylists and don't have a lot of trust that the appointment will follow through anyway. Overall I'm just frustrated with this whole process and after trying to resolve it several times, I don't know what more could be done to remedy the situation or make me trust them again with coloring.

So I have gone to hideout in the past and had a good experience but sadly my most recent time was not one of them. I asked for a creative color and a cut. My hair was already bleached. I just needed my roots to be touched up. The stylist started reaching my whole head and she used to comb to do it which was pretty painful but bleach was on at least my mids and ends for around 2 1/2 hours. The stylist had to go back-and-forth many times. The bleach was on my roots for about 30 to 40 minutes, but did not match my rest of my hair (it was darker). By the time we got to color I was really excited because I wanted a deep plum but instead, I got a gray purple that faded within two washes and the roots we’re closer to the color that I actually wanted and is the only part that has stayed. After everything was said and done I felt like I was overcharged and I called them a few days later and they refunded me $200 which was about 40% of what I payed. About a week later I got a call from the salon offering a Brazilian blowout treatment. I decided against it because my hair is very thin right now and I felt more heat on. It would make it break off more. There are parts of my hair feel like spaghetti and my ends are fried even though I got them cut. The management who handled everything was kind but I felt like my initial experience wasn’t great. I also do not live in Nashville, and I had to drive quite a far away to get my refund.

AGHHH I FREAKING LOVE YALLLL 🫶🫶🫶 every time I come I’m always so happy from the environment and my stylists and the outcome of my hair. Literally everyone in the building is so nice and so easy to talk to and it’s always a super accepting environment ❤️❤️❤️

Amazing place. I've been going for about 2 years now. I've ALWAYS had a great experience and walked away feeling fresh thanks to the wonderful stylists that work there. If you're considering going here, please know it's so woth it. Big thanks to Ash for taking care of my most recent cut. I had no plans other than 'please help I look like a sewer rat' so I booked a consultation and she came up with the PERFECT cut and solutions.

Highly recommend Hideout Salon! Hair stylist, Wyatt, took time to listen and discuss the haircut. He was very helpful and did a fabulous job with my short hair! Will start with the positives: the salon is very welcoming with a great vibe and friendly staff. Now for the negatives: I’m new to Nashville and went to the Hideout for the first time. I asked for all over highlights to cover my root growth, but at the end of my service the highlights were so minimal that my growth is still clearly visible. The salon has a 7 day free redo policy (which gave me some sense of security because it’s always stressful to try to find a new colorist). However, when I returned within the 7 day period to get more of my growth covered/blended I was told by another stylist they did not give me the service I should have gotten in the first place and it would be an additional $90/hour (full cost of a new service) to get my hair to where I want it. I spent $400 (tip included) on the original service to get disappointing results and the redo policy was not honored. Had they made an honest effort to find a compromise other than paying full price for a whole new service (especially when recommending the right service in the first place could have avoided this outcome), I would easily have been a repeat customer. Really disappointing experience from a place I had hoped to make my go-to salon. 😔

Horrible cut. Uneven. Shorter that I asked for. I rarely post reviews, but it was not a pleasant experience. Also the stylist was a bit rough with the hair. Don’t cut hair unless u know how to do it especially when ur price is higher than most other places

Booking online can be a little intimidating so if you are unsure how to describe what you want, consider booking a free consultation. Other than that, nothing about this place is intimidating. The salon itself is the safe space you need.
