Natalie was so sweet, my hair was a mess and in 2 short hours she made my long, thick hair soft, beautifully sun-kissed and freshened my gray roots with my natural color. Thank you!!!

After losing my stylist of over 20 years, I went through three different stylists hoping to find “the one.” The first two didn’t do an awful job, but I still wasn’t happy. I’m not sure what happened with the third stylist but we definitely were not on the same page and I ended up with the most awful haircut. I went from getting multiple compliments on my hair per week to tears. When all hope was lost, I found Kristi. Kristi restored my faith in the industry and I’m confident with her skills I will once again have beautiful hair!

I’ve been looking for a new hair stylist in Waterloo because I was tired of going to STL for hair appointments. I found Kristi Cates at The Hair Bar who did a fabulous job on my hair! Karen is amazing!! Most of the time when I come in I'm not quite sure what cut/color I am looking for and am looking for suggestions. She always gives suggestions based on my hair texture and thickness as well as how long I want to go between colors so my hair always looks great! She is also very knowledgeable about hair tools/products (not just the ones they carry in the salon) to help my thick, partly wavy, sometimes frizzy hair. The Hair Bar is always very clean and the staff is very friendly. Every time I leave I look and feel like the best version of myself!

One of my friends has such beautiful hair, so a year ago I asked where she went. She goes to Kristi at The Hair Bar. I booked my first appointment exactly a year ago. The Hair Bar is in Waterloo, Illinois, and it’s fabulous. Every single time I go in for a color/cut, I know I’m going to be thrilled with the style and color. Everyone is so nice in there. I always say everyone needs a good stylist. It’s therapy in so many different ways! Kristi is awesome with color and can do the most beautiful bob I’ve ever seen! I’m very happy with The Hair Bar and highly recommend!!!

I needed a new hairstylist that was closer to me and my hair needed help! My mom has been going to The Hair Bar and everytime she gets her hair done it looks healthy and beautiful. I went to see Natalie and she talked me through different options we could do to my hair and pricing before beginning which I greatly appreciate. When we finished I couldn't believe how healthy my hair looked and felt! It has been a month since I had it done and it is still looking amazing...plus I get many compliments. I saw Kristi yesterday and my experience was phenomenal! I haven’t had my hair cut in over a year and a half and wanted a change in color. She did the most beautiful balayage and revived my hair into something never knew it could be. She was fun and kind and I loved sitting in her chair. I’ll definitely be coming back and to anyone wondering, “should I make an appointment?” The answer is YES!
