Love this salon! I feel blessed to have found this place! Everyone is so friendly, knowledgeable and kind. There's no hype, no pretentiousness, and no upselling. The whole salon is welcoming. AND Lindsey is amazing! I've been dyeing my dark brown hair for decades and decided to finally go grey. A few inches had grown in and now I was ready to have that transformation I've seen in so many videos. But I knew it would be challenging because my hair was already damaged, and I also had a very limited budget. And I can't say enough about Lindsey. She spent the time talking things through, doing test strips, and figuring out how we could achieve the best results within my budget. Over a few sessions, we did not further damage my hair and removed the dark brown dye leaving me platinum blond in certain areas. Lindsey's so skilled and talented - and a joy too! We stayed within my limited budget and achieved great results! I'm looking forward to returning as soon as I can! Every time I was there, I was so impressed with everyone in the salon. Jen, the owner, runs a very special shop. Everyone makes you feel totally comfortable, and you feel so confident that they know what they're doing. It's a professional, reasonably priced, high-service salon without all the hype! I can whole-heartedly recommend Lindsey and Stylust!

My family of five goes to Stylust. My husband and 19 yo son go to Cathy and my 15yo, 21yo daughters and I go to Jen. Jen does color and cut for the girls and I. They both do an amazing job and everyone in the salon is friendly and welcoming.

First time having a haircut since the pandemic when I started to cut my own hair. Couldn’t be happier! Besides fixing my hair I had everything that I was looking for. She understood how my hair parts naturally and that don’t really like to style my hair and did the layers accordingly. Highly recommend!

I get a root touch up every 3 weeks. Cathy my stylist gives an amazing experience with an head message to die for and a blowout that lasts up to four days. Stylust owner Jen is also very talented, sweet and kind. I would highly recommend this salon. 😉

I love the girls here. Ruth is my go to girl for all my hair coloring needs I’ve been going to her now for at least 6 months and she always helps me come up with fun combos for hair colors. If you’re looking for fun colors that LAST then this is your place.

I saw Ruth today, and am so glad I did. She did a fantastic job. She asked a lot of questions and made sure she understood what I wanted by showing me pictures. She has a great technique for ensuring that when my gray grows in, it won't look like a flat line. Plus she's a joy to talk to. I was there for three hours for highlights, base color and cut and she was super sweet and engaging. Highly recommend.

I went here with my 90 year old relative. Ruth colored her hair and did mine as well. I was amazed at what a thorough job she did on her! I have been with her to many salons and I thought it was due to age that her hair was never completely colored. Apparently it's due to lack of technique!! Ruth knows how to do it perfectly. She covered every hair with brown and it has remained for two months! She did a great job on my hair as well, and I have Ruth give us haircuts too!! I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Love this salon! I have been getting my hair done by Ruth since we moved to Carlsbad in August. She is a Master Stylist and is excellent with color. Pricing is very reasonable and the salon has a very simple laid back atmosphere. Nothing pretentious about this place! Several stylists to choose from here, that I know, are great at what they do as well. The salon website has a very intuitive booking system as well.

Cathy at Stylust Salon in Encinitas is a talented and amazing stylist! After wanting to cut my hair short and color it lavender for so long, I finally decide to do it and Cathy gave me the exact look I asked for. Plus she’s super fun to talk with. Also, prices are quite reasonable. I’m grateful to have found my new favorite stylist :)

I was able to get a same day haircut within an hour and a half of calling. The salon is a little bit of a drive for me, but was well worth it. When I arrived my stylist Cathy greeted me, she was just finishing up a client and said she would be right with me, which she did. I asked for a scissor cut, as opposed to clippers. I had not had a haircut in a while and Cathy did a great job. She checked with me a couple of times to ensure I was happy with the length. she also trimmed my eyebrows, which were looking like the guy on the Munster's. I would definitely recommend Cathy!

I was looking for a very positive environment, a kind hearted stylist and someone who was able to consistently get my color right. I struck it rich with Jen, the owner of this salon. New to Carlsbad and not sure where to go, as I am very picky about my hair, and my hair is very fine, it's difficult to find someone who really knows how to work with fine hair. Well I hit the jackpot when I found Cathy! Not only does she do an amazing haircut and knows how to cut fine hair so it looks as though it is fuller. Cathy also is fantastic at highlights, really listens to what you want. Add to that she came in work especially to do my hair Christmas Eve, you cannot get better service than that. Did I also mention she has a great personality and I enjoy my time getting my hair cut and colored with her. I will not go anywhere else. I recommend giving her a try, she really listens to what you want/need and is not afraid to suggest what she thinks might be best.

On my first visit, I showed Jenn photos of how I liked my short hair to look. Jenn listened, asked questions, and paused several times to let me assess how the cut was shaping up. The result — Fantastic haircut! Working with short, fine-textured hair such as mine requires skill and attention to detail. Jenn nailed it! On my second visit, Jenn asked if any aspect of the cut had not worked out, and the answer was “no” — it had grown out evenly and continued to be easy to work with over the 5 weeks between cuts. Jenn then gave me another fantastic haircut! I’m so happy I found Jenn and Stylust!

Ruth did an absolutely incredibly job with my roots. I had over an inch of regrowth and needed to go back to platinum blonde. The results are SO clean and blended perfectly with the color I had. I'd 100% recommend Ruth and will definitely be going back!
