I recently had the pleasure of visiting Sojo Spa in Edgewater, New Jersey, an experience that was both luxurious and enlightening, despite the challenges of weekend crowds. Sojo Spa is renowned for its expansive facilities that span multiple floors, offering an array of saunas, pools, and treatments that cater to every aspect of relaxation and wellness. The moment you step into Sojo Spa, the ambiance transports you to a world of calm, with its sleek, modern design and a nod to traditional Korean spa culture. The highlight for me was undoubtedly the rooftop infinity pool, providing panoramic views of the New York City skyline that are simply breathtaking. The variety of saunas, from the charcoal to the red clay, each with unique health benefits, was impressive. The hinoki bath, with its aromatic Japanese cypress wood, was particularly soothing. However, visiting on a weekend, I found the spa to be packed, which somewhat diluted the tranquility one expects from such a place. Waiting times for popular areas like the saunas and the infinity pool were longer than anticipated, making the experience feel less like a personal retreat and more like navigating a popular attraction. The crowd definitely impacted the serene vibe, turning what could have been a peaceful escape into a more social, albeit still enjoyable, experience. The services, including the massages, were excellent; the therapists were skilled, providing a much-needed release from tension. The cleanliness of the spa was impeccable, and the staff were professional, managing the crowds as best they could under the circumstances. The food options available at Sojo were also a delightful surprise, with the Korean dishes providing a tasteful end to the day. In essence, Sojo Spa is an amazing destination for relaxation and rejuvenation, with its vast array of amenities and stunning views. However, for those seeking a quieter experience, planning a visit on a weekday might be advisable to fully enjoy the spa's peaceful qualities without the weekend bustle.

This place is the ultimate place for a relaxation day. The view of the Manhattan skyline tops it off.

Use caution when eating the food! I went to Sojo on 2/1/25 and got extremely sick from the chicken ramen and had to leave. I suspect the egg in the ramen because it was very cold in my hot soup, so it was not made fresh. The staff didn’t offer anything in the way of help except ginger ale. I’m still not feeling well and it ruined my day. They tried to make me sign a waiver to say I’m refusing emergency medical services after I told them their food made me sick and wanted to leave, which is ridiculous. Why don’t they have any medical staff? They just cared about liability I paid nearly $20 for ramen and $135 to get in today, it’s a shame. I’ve gone many times in the past but I’m not sure I can stomach going again. Considering another guest posted a picture with a fly in the same ramen just days before… that should tell you everything. Wish I had seen that beforehand

Best place for a relaxing weekend. You can get lost here. 8 floors of magic. The good is incredible. Go with your girlfriends, your partner, yourself. Just go.

I have been here a few times before. It is absolutely beautiful. Very clean! I love how they have the outside covered during bc the winter so you can use the pools all year long. The coffee and dessert station they had by the Infiniti pool was very cute and cozy. I love the view of the city from the infinity pool.

Today was my first experience in this spa. I didn't like that for quiet conversations with a friend the employees come up to you and make a remark. You feel like a primary school student. They make a remark for everything, you can't walk in a bathing suit from one spa room to another, you have to put on a robe. It's very unpleasant, we are all adults and came to relax and enjoy the time. I also didn't like that all people have to walk barefoot, it's unhygienic. To be honest I didn't like it, I've been to better places in New York, where there are more different types of spas and you are not scolded like a little kid for breathing loudly. Absolutely humiliating. Also, the employees walk around with stupid signs saying "Quiet". The only good place is the pool. In any case, I would never come again

What a disappointment. Just left the facility because it was SO packed that we couldn’t enjoy ourselves. People were very rude, inconsiderate of other people’s space, using their phone and taking photos/call in areas that phones were not allowed. People were blasting music on speaker, being loud in quiet areas. Lines in the showers, elevators and bathrooms were very long and it took us 30 min to get out car back from valet. Not a relaxing experiencie at all.

Beautiful spa. I’d suggest going during the week early in the day because it can get very busy and crowded. Food was good. I’d suggest Sojo offer slippers to clientele as fungal infections and other foot diseases can be easily be spread given everyone is walking barefoot minus the employees Also, my message was less than stellar.

Great local respite; I will return Pros -Selina M. who checked us in should be doing all of your customer service training. She was absolutely fantastic. Several things weren’t clear on the website when booking, and she was able to sort them out for us. -Lourdes (massage therapist) was one of the best I’ve experienced. I’ve had many massages over decades and she was professional and spot on, ask for her if you can. -Great views of the city and very helpful staff Cons -We thought going on a Thursday during the work week it would be quiet. It wasn’t! They can do a better job re: number of people allowed in each hour. As a result the locker rooms were extremely crowded with not enough seating space to put your stuff, especially in the winter. And it also meant the pools were very crowded with people on top of each other. -No shoes policy is poor. Provide flip flops. Wet floors and bare feet are a bad combination and bare feet in a public bathroom is just disgusting. - I’ve never seen “security” checking bags at a spa. He was not the friendliest person we encountered. - The no food or drinks from outside isn’t customer friendly, especially when many people aren’t arriving in their own car. I’ve been to geothermal spas, onsens, and have never encountered that policy. Get rid of it. - Please switch from plastic water bottles to cartons. And overall given the amount of water used, I would revisit other places you can be more environmentally friendly.

So good that I almost want to gatekeep it. Every spa has a variety of saunas but only this one has a variety of pools. The entire place is very, very well maintained and you can tell.

Clean, relaxing spa experience. The staff are active in maintaining the spa and promoting a calm atmosphere. Loved the pools and sauna options. Locker rooms and women's private area was well-kept. Lots of towels available across the spa. Definitely recommend getting there as early as possible for an experience with less guests.

My husband stated he would not go back. This was his first time and my second. My first experience was very nice and fulfilling. The couples treatment fell short. We both agreed that it was not worth the weight in gold. Would I do it again? Probably not, I will seek other places to compare.

Stones weren't hot and they didn't use them all over my body so don't do that service but the therapist pressure was great and made up for it...

I really need another spa day. I’ve been twice, and it’s like entering another world where everything gets lighter. Use the many different kinds of hot springs and saunas, jet pools, and cold plunges to shock your metabolism out of any funk you might be in. Treat yourself to a warm, swaddling hug made out of volcanic sand. Get one of the half a dozen kinds of massages they offer. There’s a therapy for everything. The food is wonderful, the eatery is bright and clean, and the view is amazing. The silent areas are respected and quiet. Everyone follows the rules of the spa, nobody is loud, obnoxious, or bothersome. Staff is accommodating and attentive, but out of the way and unobtrusive. I really need to go again. It’s worth the price.

Came here for my birthday mid week and did the Korean body scrub and regular pools and saunas. It was a fantastic way to celebrate and relax. The Korean body scrub is amazing. My fiancé got a shiatsu massage and also loved it! Highly recommend.

Good but gets crowded later in the day

Sojo is a wonderful spa. I have been there several times. However, on 1/29/25, I was there for a day, which was overcrowded. To end the day my 2 guests and I finished the day by the Infinity pool. We got out of the pool to get our robe, and mine was gone with my Ray-Ban sunglasses. ($168). I am sure someone picked up the robe by accident. However, I understand that Sojo is not responsible for stolen or lost items, but looking at the amount of people and services they provided yesterday to at least a hundred of people, the lest they could have said to me sorry for the inconvenience , I noticed you have been here several times here is a voucher for a general admission on us. (Yesterday admission was 90) It is not going to break the spas bank account. It goes to show you the more money companies/businesses make the more greedy they are. I will not return to spa any time soon unless they send me a day voucher for my inconvenience.

I absolutely love this spa. Very clean atmosphere, the staff is great, the food is really good too. We stayed in the hotel and it was really nice. You get to enjoy the spa amenities for two days while you’re there. It has so many places to relax and unwind. Saunas, pools and baths oh my! Can’t wait to come back and indulge. Thank you Sojo for an amazing experience.

Oh I will definitely be coming back. So nice and so relaxing. Plenty of things to do, the food is good. It feels like time passes so slowly there.
