I had an appointment this morning for 8am,I was quoted $150 for shoulder length Spring twist (price included hair). When I arrived I explained to the braider I made the appointment with the owner,and I wasn't sure of my braider. I mentioned the lady that braided my hair previously. I was then told,she did not look to check,we don't have the hair here,I needed to go buy the hair. After I returned home,I called and spoke with the owner,she explained the other braider lied,they had the hair and could I come back and pay $200 instead! Nothing for the inconvenience, tried to charge me more! Please proceed with caution. It shouldn't have had anything to do with me, the customer 😒

I called made an appointment for singles I was quoted $250.00 I confirm the price with the owner she confirm it turns out they charge me $300.00. I like my hair but the braiders are mean and talk badly about the owner and people that walk by their window. One young lady went to 3 different braiders then told her they couldn't finish her hair took her braids out and she left.If you read the reviews they are true. A few years ago I was scheduled for an appointment and unfortunately they didn't put me on the books so I was out of luck so I decided to give them another chance...ABSOLUTELY NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

This shop stank. They give u a price than try to add 200 extra when u arrive. They take thousands of breaks to eat and talk on the phone. Didnt see one person wash they nasty ass hands. Then over charge right part your hair because you refused to pay 300 for some singles. Don't ever get your head braided here

*didn't get service/don't plan on getting service I was quoted [$250] for a micro bob in advance [ 2 weeks advance] . I will note, they were cool when I called asking if I could just walk in instead of the later appointment I wanted to make. The disconnect came with the price. I could understand if it was a little surge, but they said it would cost double, literally $500 for a micro bob. There's no justification for that in any way- I even said I could meet in the middle at $400, but that wasn't enough for them . Serena was pretty cool in arranging for me to come in to the next day [tomorrow] to do some test braids and gage the price that way- but in less than 20 minutes I found another shop that could do the exact style ironically for the same original price I was quoted...

I get my hair done at this place every 2 or 3 months I was getting dreadlocks, during week days is not that busy but on weekends it's a little crowded there's parking on the street but a little hard to park, there's also parking across the street

I went to Sofia yesterday for styling my burningman corn braids. It was my first time and she was very good explaining, picking the colors from my Inspo, attentive and patient with me, and my corn rows with braid extensions turned out super beautiful! Sofia and her team were super professional and creative! Her ability to copy from a photo was amazing. She has a big supply of different colors also, and whatever was needed, we went next door to the beauty supply to pick up. So overall the convenience factor was high as well. She can open instagram links to review your Inspo with you, and make good suggestions!

I went to the shop for 12 straight back cornrows. The stylist didn’t have a comb or braid gel it took. Her 30 min to get a comb and gel. As she’s braiding my hair I tell her the braids aren’t even I had 2 braids the right size and three huge ones . When I pointed it out to her she stated to talk crazy in French. She reached for my hair I told her to move back I got up and left. This was the dirtiest sweaty shop I have ever been to. Do not go here find another shop that can make a straight part

**Fantastic Service at Sofia** I had a wonderful experience at Sofia The staff was welcoming, I’m from OAKLAND so the commute was SUPER efficient and the salon was stylish and comfortable. The stylists really know their stuff and gave me an amazing hairstyle that left my hair looking and feeling great. I highly recommend Sofia for excellent service and supporting a fantastic Black-owned business. I'll definitely be back! --- Feel free to tweak it as needed!

Most traumatic hair experience of my life. Went in to get faux locks and was told that the style I wanted I would have to wait 3 hours for someone to do. Defeats the entire point of an appointment. When I am getting my hair done I repeatedly tell the lady not too tight. My hair is so tight at night I can’t sleep. I begin to panic because it’s just too tight. Next day I drive over an hour back to salon because my scalp is on fire. Sofia says I’m going to have to pay for a takedown to which I refuse- I let her know I paid over $300 less than 24 hours ago. The worst part is upon take down the ladies purposely cut pieces of my hair A TON! I had pieces that were so short i couldn’t even put into ponytail. Imagine wasting $350 keep a style in your hair for less than 24 hours.then to lose hair in the process. This was traumatic and depressing. Please protect your hair, time and pockets. Go elsewhere.

They did my daughters hair it was some box braids with curls at the end it's was neat and lasted along time and it took only 6 hours but it's a little pricey for my liking even for armpit it's 175. But she Got med back so it was 225

I DIDN'T RECEIVE A PHONE CALL TO NOTIFY ME THAT THERE WAS A CHANGE IN MY APPOINTMENT OR THE STYLIST'S AVAILABILITY. I first contacted Sofia braid shop in January because I wanted to treat my grandma to getting her hair done. She's been wanting goddess braids in a bun for a while and I've been looking for a place. In January they told me they could do the style and to text a picture of the style and when I wanted the appointment. I contacted the shop 3 weeks in advance to inquire about the style and how to book an appointment. They shared to text the number and send a picture of the style at least 3 days in advance. I texted a week before the appointment a wanted to book to book the appointment for my grandma's birthday and included a picture of the style and the time and date I wanted. I received a confirmation text with the name of the braider that was going to style my grandma's hair. Day of the appointment (today) we dropped of my grandma to get her hair done and she had to wait which was ok. But about 30 minutes later I received a call from my grandma saying they wanted to do a ponytail. I spoke to the store owner and the stylist explaining how I booked the appointment in advance as they told me to, and picked up my grandma to get her hair done. They said the stylist that does goddess braids wasn't there and no one could do my grandma's hair. I DIDN'T RECEIVE A PHONE CALL TO NOTIFY ME THAT THERE WAS A CHANGE IN MY APPOINTMENT OR THE STYLIST'S AVAILABILITY. Had I known my grandma wasn't going to be able to get her hair done for her birthday I wouldn't have picked her up or drove to the shop. THEY HAD NO REGARD FOR MY TIME OR MY GRANDMA'S TIME AND THE INCONVENIENCE IT CAUSED. I would never recommend this place the customer service was very dismissive.

Come here for the occasional takedown, wash & dry and re-braid. Sarah takes really good care of me and she does a great job. Communication and service is more relaxed than what you’d typically expect for a business but once you’re here in the chair, you’ll be well taken care of.

I just love Sofia and all of her staff I’ve been coming here for about 5 years now and every time I needed an appointment it has always been easy to get , the minute you walk in all the ladies are very pleasant and willing to assist you. I’m always in and out within 4-5 hours for singles I do have a favorite Braider and know im not tell y’all her name cause when I need her she has to be available for me 😂 lol before I leave I stay getting ❤️compliments Sofias braid shop by far is the best in the bay love you Sofia and Staff.

Save your .money and go elsewhere. Sophia is rude to be the owner had me waiting 25-30 min after telling me a time to be there (early). Then started my hair and told.me she was going for coffee 🙄 to give her ten min. It was 30. It is SAD our black people do each other this way.Lastly the style lasted six days. Still waiting for her response. You have my number.

From the moment I walked in the door I felt very uncomfortable, the ladies vibe and rudeness was unwelcoming. so I ended up leaving without my hair braided, bummer

Made an online appointment today for 3:30. Get to the shop and it's crowded no where to sit. She then asked me to COME BACK AT 6PM. I said but I ha e an appointment for 3:30. Then she said they overbooked. Mind you I drove an hour away. I definitely won't be back here!

My daughter turned me on to Rhis shop and the Owner did my hair crocheted that was over a year ago and I’m still going. My hair is ver y thin at the top and Sofia knows just how to care for and style my hair. I recommend her and the shop to all my friends
