What this salon did to me was illegal. If I were more litigious, I would be taking them to court; fortunately for them, I am just here to ruin their reputation. I walked in for a simple wash, cut, and blow dry. Because I didn’t want a lot done to my hair and I liked that it seemed like a local family run business, I was happy to go in and wait for a simple cut and dry. After waiting quietly for half an hour, they called me back for a wash. Upon washing my hair, the woman had me wait for an additional 20 minutes for the cut. The lady then cut my hair and I noticed afterwards she forgot to cut some pieces, which when I asked her to fix, she did, with disdain. I brushed it off, let her do her thing, then I was passed on to another woman to blow dry. I noticed my head felt hot as the woman blow dried my hair but just assumed it was a hot machine and let it be. I’ll tell you, my hair never looked more perfect after that heat was applied; it was too perfect. She then proceeded to straighten my hair and it smelled like an incinerator. Its been less than 24 hours since the experience and I now realize that it wasn’t just the heat, it was sulfur. The “post-wash” wait wasn’t because they were busy, it was because they were letting the product sink into my hair and scalp. I am currently with a professional stylist who is explaining what these women did to me and understands the protocol for chemically induced hair, what the reaction does and can do, and knows how dangerous what they did is to me. She explains this to me as she is trying furiously to wash the rotten egg stench out of my hair. ***These women, without my consent, put extremely powerful chemicals on my scalp that A. had I previously colored my hair, would have caused permanent damage not just to my hair, but to my scalp. B. “Perm/Straightening” chemicals are extremely hazardous and can cause cancer if not used properly. C. Applying chemicals without customer consent is not just unprofessional, it is illegal and dangerous.*** Shut this place down. I say this with so much vigor, as I sit and wait for the chemical burn pain to cease from my head, hoping these burns don’t seep too deep near the most important organ on my body.

This salon says that it opens at 10:30 am and it does not. They had my girlfriend waiting for an hour and couldn’t get her hair done before her trip. What type of business doesn’t open on time or tell it’s clients to come at a specific time and don’t show up.

So I am not here to rate the salon. I am here to rate the sweetheart the does eyebrow threading in the back. Her name is Sumi and if you are looking for a place that does great work, look no further this is the place. She is awesome. I only go there for the threading but she offers other services.

Friendly, professional staff. Happy that a good old-fashion haircut still exists in NYC at an affordable price. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. The stylist made sure she asked all questions before cutting. She made sure the length and style I wanted were her priority. Loved the attention and care given! I would definitely come back to this salon!

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!! I came in at 9:00am and got out at 7:00pm they are old ladies. I guess that the ones who comment good about them are the salonists friends. Don’t come here they have poor assistance I regret coming 😡😡

My head is completely chemically burned. I told her repeatedly I couldn’t take the pain from the bleach and she left me sitting there for 30 minutes because she had a different customer. I was basically begging her to take the bleach out and when she finally did she seemed upset about me bothering her. After leaving my scalp raw (it’s currently bleeding) she put in the wrong hair color and charged us $60. Never going back again. I hope this place gets shut down.

They know nothing about styling, they killed me completely, completely messed up my hair. In the picture you can see their layer hair cut. She destroyed me, i will never return for god sake I just wanted the tips removed. I am extremely sad.

Horrible service! The stylists took turns making fun of my hair. I will never come here again! I went here to get my natural hair straightened and have never had such a poor experience. I asked for a wash and blow out and the first hairdresser said they could do this. After having my hair washed I sat in the chair where another stylist immediately began negatively commenting on my natural hair in Spanish. Even her customer began to comment on how "bad" my natural hair was. To make things worse a stylist took out her phone and said "make it really pretty" because she was taking a before and after picture without my consent and behind my back. All four women in the salon partook in laughing and discussing how short and bad my natural hair was thinking that I did not understand because of my skin color. Besides the comments, the stylist doing my hair blow dried only my roots while my hair was in an Afro state. Next she took out a small tooth comb to detangle my 3c hair. If you are versed in natural black hair you'd know that that is absurd. My roots were extremely straight however, she was afraid to give my ends the same attention. I explained that she needed to detangle my hair from the ends to the top and she continued her top down method which made my ends even more frizzy. In the end I got a mediocre blow dry and was humiliated. My family is Spanish speaking so I confronted the stylist and all she said was ok, repeatedly. These women never apologized for all of the rude comments and unprofessionalism. I have never been so embarrassed and I would warn anyone with course or curly hair to take their beautiful tresses to someone that will appreciate them. Horrible people, horrible service!
