I've been coming here to Jamie for years. Sadly, I moved away from Iowa last year, but I come to have jamie cut my hair every time I'm home visiting, like I was today. She listens, communicates clearly, is candid about what will look good for me and what won't, and is great with attention to detail. I miss her, and wish I could find a stylist as good as she is where I'm living now! But even when I do, I'll still come here whenever I'm visiting CR.

My friend recommended Kelsey after I paid an absurd amount of money to get my hair done elsewhere ($430). I felt that I was taken advantage of at the other salon as I knew nothing about hair and even after the amount of money I spent, I left dissatisfied. Kelsey was super flexible with her schedule, which is a bonus as I work a 9-5 job and live an hour away from Shear Happenings. I was very nervous about getting my hair done again after having a bad experience at another salon. I arrived to my appointment and was greeted by Kelsey. I typically hate talking to anyone while getting my hair done as I always find it super awkward trying to keep a conversation but Kelsey is so easy to talk too. I talked to Kelsey about what I wanted to get done, which was originally a black to purple ombré. She gave suggestions on how to tweak the hair color. Specifically not to do black but a very dark brown as I have a very pale complexion and did not want to look ghost-like with winter coming among other suggestions. I was very satisfied with the suggestions she gave and ended up agreeing to all her suggestions. My hair did not turn out right the first time, but she got me back in her chair 2 days later to fix it. It turned out AMAZING. Everything came to less than 1/2 of what I spent at the previous salon and I left significantly more satisfied. Kelsey is simply amazing as her prices are unbeatable, she is flexible with scheduling, she is easy to talk too and you leave feeling like you gained a friend!
