New to the area and needed to find a good barber. Even though my haircut is not overly complex, I do like it done right. Lo and behold, I walk into this place and find this gem. GREAT cut and good conversation. I found my hair home.

THIS REVIEW WAS HIDDEN AND REMOVED BY CYNTHIA MOORE I initially wasn't going to leave a review, but the way Cynthia responded to my absolute devastation over my completely butchered haircut, I feel the need to warn new customers, ESPECIALLY if you are neurodivergent, STAY AWAY. I had been growing out my hair for 3 yrs and decided it was now too long. during this time I've had consistent trims/shape, but since moving I didn't think I could physically make the 1+ hr drive to my old salon bc I'm also physically disabled. I now regret this completely as it would have been less physically painful for me to endure the longer trip than to be going through what I am now. first, she took another client DURING MY APPT. WOW. as for the length, I asked for asymmetry (longer to the front). I warned her that my shrinkage is A LOT & she assured me she understood what I wanted, yet my hair is completely blunt, with no face framing layers. I showed her a reference photo of MYSELF, my own curls, from a little less than 2 yrs ago as a point I wanted to return to. I should have run screaming when she started using a comb on my dry hair, then began twisting tight sections which she would then cut into at an angle in multiple points to "create texture". SHE NEVER HAD MY PERMISSION OR CONSENT to completely change my hair texture, which she did. I even specified the way I style my hair is for DEFINITION, and the way she cut into it has completely destroyed my once perfect spiral curl pattern. I used to get asked if my hair was done by a curling iron or if it was a wig, now it looks absolutely horrible. you can see the after pics as well as a pic of my hair from 3 wks ago. I am completely traumatized by this experience and on my way home I ordered hair clips and even shears to try and salvage this atrocity, but there's no way to go backwards to before she completely chopped at my hair WITHOUT EVEN ASKING ME if that was what I wanted. when I left the salon, I did act like everything was fine, mostly because I still didn't know just how bad it was until I styled it myself, because SHE didn't style it. I was hoping it was just these products my hair disliked, or the humidity today, or my anxiety... I wanted to be wrong. I also thought she seemed genuinely nice and I didn't want to jump to the conclusion I already knew in my gut. when I told her how much I hated it, she eventually offered me a refund after saying I should just let it "grow out". she texted me confirmation of the refund, at which point I sent her the included photos of my hair after styling it normally (😢). I pressed further about the "added texture", why she would do that, and how can I fix it? she then proceeded to severely gaslight me, claiming my hair texture had probably just changed due to new products or diet, even though I covered both those topics when I was explaining what I wanted from this haircut. it was at this point I let her know what I really thought about her as a stylist and a person after she showed her true colors. the way I was treated was unbelievably horrible and I unfortunately won't soon forget it. I can usually only afford a 2x/yr cut, so for me it's always a big deal that I look forward to, after this I will never again visit a new salon, and I may never go to ANY hairdresser ever again. Cynthia truly did not listen to ANYTHING I said, and I was so nervous and focusing so hard on trying to "act normal" (which she of COURSE brought up to shame me further), that I didn't speak up or just leave when I should have. at first I thought this was just a mistake or a bad day, but after her response via text & lying response, I KNOW she maliciously chopped my hair & is hiding behind having "excellent reviews" as a way to escape the accountability, bc apparently I'm the only one to EVER be unhappy, ever. I am literally so completely devastated over this entire experience, I already know her response will just be more humiliation & deflection, as if a refund could fix it. Cynthia gave me the big chop thst I have wanted for years and I’m obsessed. 3 months later and my hair is growing back healthier than ever. She is highly skilled and incredibly talented. I have recommended her to everyone. Her vibrant energy has me feeling like I’ve been going to her all my life. She truly is a gem!

Cynthia has done my hair for yeaaaars. She is the only one who has gotten me to the shades of colors I wanted without damaging my hair. I trust her blindly with my hair and that type of trust is HARD to find! 100000000000% recommend!

Cynthia is truly gifted in her field. She’s not only competent, she’s caring and compassionate. The experience of getting your hair done is almost holistic. She’s a great listener. It’s therapy with the bonus of looking great at the end of the session. She’s also an excellent mentor to others. I highly recommend Cynthia for her expertise and knowledge and professionalism.

Cynthia has been my stylist and now my friend for about 10 years.she gives the best short cut I have seen around the Hudson valley area.she has blessed my hair every color of the rainbow 🌈 from the colors of the rainbow to rich warm tones to all levels of blondes. She also educates on how to maintain the integrity of your hair through these color process. As well as given you a realistic timeline on how long and how many appointments you need to achieve you desired color.(yes it can take more than one appointment) she is a plethora of hair care knowledge.but when you are in her chair she is more than a stylist she is a friend an amazing soul and an overall great human.

This was the hands down best haircut I have ever gotten! I was able to leave the salon without having to restyle, which I usually have to do at other salons. It was a luxurious experience and Cynthia Moore is a genius with scissors. She also cut my teenage son’s hair and he absolutely loves his cut. We cannot wait to go back!!

Cynthia is the greatest!! From short hair to long hair..I always leave with amazing hair!! Also, I'm a very anxious person that hates making small talk but I always feel so comfortable around Cynthia and have the greatest conversations. When the snow made it impossible for us to keep my appointment she came in on a Sunday!! Now that is great service! 💜💜 Highly recommend!!

Cynthia is versatile and knowledgeable about different hair textures and the products that will work best for your hair type. The salon is beautifully decorated and clean. I was so nervous going to a new stylist but Cynthia was patient, listened and made me feel comfortable right away. And I love my hair for the first time in years!

Hands-down the BEST stylist around! I have been coming here for years and won't go anywhere else. I have very short hair, so I value Cynthia's consistency and attention to detail which is hard to find. She also cuts my daughter's bob, which looks incredible every time. I just moved to the area and have used a few places, this was my first time ever getting styled with Cynthia and I must say I'm very happy with the results and glad that I have found my new stylist!! She is so personable and sweet, communicates well to establish what services you can get and will need. Had to use app for appointment and was pleasantly surprised I did not have the usual hair appointment wait time (if you know, you know). Went on my lunch break and was pleasantly surprised with how quickly I was done and how GREAT I looked 😊!! This is a must try if you live in this area, especially if you have curly wavy hair.

I went in with at least 2ins of split and brittle ends. I walk out with a nice bob cut and a much healthier looking head of hair. Cynthia is amazing at what she does. And that scalp was massager is a game changer for me 😊. Cynthia and Eclectic Studio are a whole vibe. You won't be disappointed.
