I absolutely love this salon and my stylist Oakley!!! I have never found a stylist who can do my blonde exactly the way I like. She has an artistic eye and is able to truly hear what you want. Oakley is professional, creative, and honest. I highly recommend her!

I just moved to Ventura. My daughter and I looked for a local salon to try out. I called this salon and made an appointment for my daughter the week of Christmas. The day of her appointment I was in a lot of pain and needed to go to urgent care. I dropped my daughter off on my way because I didn’t want to cancel it. I am mentioning this because I want to make it clear that I could have canceled her appointment. She loved her stylist which was Oakley. She was so happy. After being in the hospital for week and then recovering for a week at home I wanted to get my hair done. I called the salon directly. I was a new first time client and did not know any of the stylist. I told the person who answered that I want full color and some highlights. when I arrived my stylist was not informed at all of my request for my hair color. Which was what I wanted the most. I was incredibly disappointed. I took an Uber there because I couldn’t drive due to my recent surgery and called in advance and was very clear. The stylist did not have time to do the color because of other appointments. I was bummed but it was not her fault. Whoever answered the phone did not do their job. My first time there did not go as I wanted. I really liked my stylist however and was willing to go back. I bought over $200 worth of products that are sold by the salon not the stylist. I called the salon a few weeks later so I can get my hair done the day I was leaving for a trip. Oakley answered and I informed her that I’d like my step daughter to get her hair done with her because my daughter liked her. And I said that I’d like to get my hair done by the same stylist who did mine. I gave all the information needed for my daughter and was told by Oakley that she will have my requested stylist reach out to me.We texted about what services i wanted. I sent a text saying next week and did not read the confirmation text correctly. I had received the confirmation for my step daughter’s hair with Oakley and everything was perfect so I assumed it was all good since I made it clear we are getting it done on the same day. this was my error for not reading the date carefully. The next day I received a reminder of my appointment which was set for the next day. I immediately called the salon to clear this up and inform them of the dates. Oakley answered and I explained the situation. She said she sees our appointments are set for next week not tomorrow. She told me clear as day that I can disregard that message and that it was a system error. I felt relieved. The next day I speak with someone from the salon and they are completely unaware that I called the day before. They were not told. My appointment was not canceled and my stylist was not told at all. I received a text from the stylist which was informing me of the cancellation process. She was very professional and nice. But I felt incredibly bad that she was never told. I did not call or text her directly because that message of my appointment came from the salon. She then told me that Oakley informed her that I called and she told me I had to call the stylist. That was not only a complete lie but now I feel like she said that to save herself for not communicating and giving me inaccurate information. If I was told to deal with the appointment with stylist I would have. I made the effort to call immediately after that text to correct the dates. So obviously I am not the type to not call or show up. I am still willing to give this place a try. I called to speak with the owner to see if we can get a restart. I was told that the owner was busy with a client. I then received a very long email from the owner that probably took longer to make than the call would have. He made it clear that he will not call me and that any issues I have need to be resolved with the stylist. I am so sad that I was treated this way as a new member of this community. I did not receive any apologies or acknowledgment whatsoever. I spent a lot of money here and was treated so poorly. This has never happened to me by any business of any kind.

She Oakley charged me, I noticed on my receipts for full highlights I did not have full highlights I have a basic color so i think I was charged for the wrong service, very unhappy the way it turned out, very nice girl don't get me wrong ,very sweet girl ,but I do not like the color it was one solid dark Brown there's no Dimension to it straight ugly Brown, I thought it was going to have a little bit of some colors to it not flat brown and I was left to leave the building with this half inch border from ear to ear of permanent dye on my face,ears and neck which I was very embarrassed to go out in public with this. when I finally made it home the neighbor thought I had a tattoo done on my face. Charging me $260.00 for a for a basic color that look like a box from Walmart color and a trim doesn't seem right and on top of that the receipt that I got full highlights which was not performed and then you feel obligated to tip so I gave a tip which turned out to be all together $306 which I wish I would have never tipped, I think I was charged the wrong service I made an appointment with another Salon to have it fixed it's horrible I really am upset because I think I was charged for full highlights when I only had a basic brown very dark and charged for full highlights I would not recommend this place at all and will not be returning to this facility... Don't know what the owner things about her employees screwing over people and giving her shot a bad name

Excellent salon! I have seen Kyli, Veronica and Ashton who all do an amazing job. Cut, color and treatments are all top notch and they recommend killer products without pressuring you to buy them. :)

I had just moved to Ventura and was searching for a new go-to hair stylist. I had tried another salon in town and was left a little disappointed, my color needed some help, and my hair was in need of a little rescue, both dry and oily at the scalp. Nicole was recommended to me, and she worked a miracle on my hair. Like I can't stop looking at it, she has 14+ years of experience, and she was able to do a color correction on me. I am so happy with it now, it looks so good, a huge difference and the best part was Nicole was super communicative and walked me through everything she was going to do and what she was thinking for color correction. I felt like she really knew her stuff and trusted her process. Thanks Nicole!

Ashton was a sweetheart and did a great job covering my white roots and matching the existing hair color! My hair is coarse, thick, and resistant to color, but she knew exactly how to work with it. Plus, you get a spa-like experience with a head massage and hot towel with essential oil. Highly recommend!

I can't rave enough about Ashton, her salon and her team! Aside from her talent, the salon is clean, bright, airy and whimsical, parking is never an issue (there's a plethora behind the library across the street), the vibe is always positive and welcoming (never judgy or gossipy). Now for Ashton, she's just a dream of a human... her warm, kind and authenticity radiates, she's always actively listening and effortlessly attending to everyone's needs... I refer to her as an Earth Angel :) Her skills are unparalleled - She REALLY knows her stuff and takes her time, is gentle in her approach, thorough in the technique and always delivering exactly what I ask for. Absolutely LOVE her!

I have been going to Ashton for years now and she’s the absolute best! Always listens to exactly what I want, sets realistic expectations and executes it perfectly. She’s also the sweetest and any time I have an appointment with her it feels like I’m spending time with a friend. Not to mention, the salon is absolutely beautiful and she goes above and beyond to make sure you’re well taken care of.

Ashton is my go to girl and the owner of this salon. She is very kind, patient and takes her time. I love the products she uses and the ambience of the salon. Parking is super easy and free! and I love the location being next to Fluid State. There are coffee and tea options and the chairs are super comfy throughout- the wash bowl chair reclines and has a massager option. I know Ashton has put a lot of work into this salon and many hours of her own time building the wood collage behind the wash bowls- super impressive and aesthetically pleasing. All of the staff is friendly too and it is a no drama, team environment. Great job Ashton and team.. and I look forward to my next visit! <3

I feel so blessed to have discovered Ashton and this salon. I get my hair done every 6-8 weeks and Ashton is an expert with blonde color and extensions. She takes her time to understand what I want done with my hair and I feel truly listened to. With the comfy chairs, beverages, and relaxing environment, I feel like I’m on a vacation at this salon. I recommend this salon to all!

I have been seeing Ashton (the owner and also stylist) since I moved to the area 4 years ago. Not only is she such a sweet heart, but she is SO talented and really takes the time to make sure the end result is what I am looking for. I have followed her around to a few salons before she started Salt + Mane Salon (she’s that good!!) and love the vibe of her shop. All of the girls there seem super sweet and talented and 100% recommend her and her shop!!

What a fun and professional salon! Makaela did a great shampoo, cut, and blow-dry and was so friendly and attentive. The shampoo chairs are also massage chairs, and the salon itself is very clean, uses great products, and has a modern boho vibe. Great location downtown right next to Fluid State!
