Mark, I tried to call you to say that after I left the salon yesterday with my new bangs and bounce, everyone was EYES ON ME! Men and women fell in love with me. Men on the street trying to talk to me. One cute, dumb boy said, "Did you dye your hair?" 😂 I said no, but he kept looking. In short, I'm kind of a big deal. Thanks, friend!

I got a color service done and a hair cut. The color is fine I like it. I think next time I want to go more copper now that I see it in the highlights. But for the hair cut I had a picture and my hair looks nothing like that photo. I wanted that exact cut. I basically got a shaggy looking bob instead of the awesome cut that I was suppose to get. I also missed my appointment that I was suppose to go to. Was told I’d be done by two and I got out of there two hours afterwards. Overall not a bad hair salon just come with basic ideas they can do those but just not trend setting looks. Like I wish someone would try to fix my hair cut

I’m brand new to Nashville and I needed a new go to stylist and salon! I was prepared to have to try out various places around town before I was happy. THAT WAS NOT THE CASE! I booked with Aissa through the Cognito salon website and was seen within days of making the appointment. I was so surprised I didn’t have to wait months!! The salon is easy to find and parking is directly in front of the building. I was offered snacks and beverages when I arrived for my appointment which was super sweet of them. The salon is clean, modern, and well stocked with product. The environment was lively without being overly loud or too weirdly quiet either. I am so happy to have worked with Aissa. She truly listens to what I would like to see out of my hair and makes it happen flawlessly. I’ve gotten many compliments on my hair! I am very happy with both cuts and I will be asking about color at future appointments!

This salon - Cognito Hair Design- was recommended to me as a business that included some stylists who were trained in gender neutral hair styles. I was excited about this. But, in my experience- I didn’t find this to be true. I wish I’d asked her to trim more off. I wish Nashville had a combination barber and salon so that I wouldn’t have to explain the gender neutral hair cut I want EVERY time I get a cut, though. But the real shocker was $79 for a hair TRIM. She asked if I wanted it washed and styled, I said no because my hair is naturally curly and I washed and straightened it right before my appointment. Honestly, the cut should have been around $40. I love the way she cut it, but it WAS NOT worth $79.

Harjeen was wonderful, today was my first visit to Cognito it won't be my last! So glad to know I've found a great salon after moving to the Nashville area, I knew it would be a longshot trying to get an appt just before Christmas but she was able to squeeze me in for an afternoon appt. My long thick hair needed some love so I did a wash cut and style to take some of the weight off. Harjeen made it much more manageable and so sleek but kept most of the length, I was so pleased since it's been months since I could run my fingers through my hair 🥰 Thank you so much!

I had the please of having Lily-Cate give me a men’s cut and I could not have been more happy with the results! Moving to Nashville I knew finding someone to cut my hair and also find someone I’m comfortable with made me nervous! But this salon is so comfy and homey and everyone was so sweet! Thanks again Lily-Cate!! Can’t wait to get my hair cut from you again.. 10/10 recommend!

I normally get my hair colored by Rachel but she started her Maternity leave a little early and I was offered to get my hair colored with Harjeen. Harjeen did an absolutely amazing job, was fun to talk to, and helped me pick out a new color to slowly go a little darker with my hair (I have been blonde for 12 years). She did such an amazing job blending my hair but still keeping it light so it wasn't a huge change that I would end up not liking. I highly recommend both Harjeen and Rachel! I also wanted to thank the salon for keeping their prices reasonable with all the inflation going on. Your customers appreciate you all! ❤

Mark Hartman is THE BEST. I've been his client since 2004 and make the drive to Nashville (now a 2.5 hr trip for me) to see him. But I would absolutely trust anyone he has in his salon!!!

This place double booked my appointment. My stylist spent 5 minutes tops trimming my bangs then passed me to someone else who “styled” my hair, because she had another client. The second person pulled my hair horribly in the process. My hair looked dry and frizzy afterwards. I also had all sorts of uneven areas that were not cut, that will need additional tlc. The stylist didn’t even check on me to make sure everything looked ok. It was a horrible experience and a waste of $84.

I came here to get my hair cut for the first time since the beginning of Covid and I got my hair cut by Rachel. I let her do whatever she thought would look good and I LOVE it!!! Thank you so much for rejuvenating my hair and giving it life again. Highly, highly recommend this salon and Rachel. 10/10
