Looking for local African braiding shop this is it these two sisters they use to do hair in New York and now they here. I had the honor of meeting them both they very welcoming on time and able to accommodate my teenager and her style of choice my best advice always is to send your stylist a picture of your idea style to make sure they can do it, also what make this shop amazing is the location and they provide the braiding hair which makes this process easier for my daughter which is very tender headed the stylist have the most gentle hands she didn’t feel a things also at the end they will sew the back of the hair together so it can last longer love that process Price varies per style length and amount of braids you get so make sure you are clear when you communicate with what you want for example I want 6 medium braids going back

Absolutely the worst customer service and un professionalism I have ever dealt with! Listen, do yourself a favor and find another braider for you needs. On the phone she quoted me $350 for braids, during the time getting my hair braided she said it's a lot of work so, my price will be $500. That's fine, but what wasn't fine was her making me squat down uncomfortably in the chair bc she is short! Most people would invest in a stand being her height but she's too cheap to invest in things like that! I left her salon and went straight to the hospital, I had a torn tendon due to being in that squatting position for hours! I arrived at 6am and I left her Salon at 2:45 am! Yes I was there for 21 hours! When she was done she said my hair was now $600. Her and her sister talked about me the entire time while i was sitting I'm her chair. What she doest know is her native language is the same as my Haitian grandmother! She called me all types of names when I told her my back was hurting! Her and her sister was laughing at me when I started crying from the pain! They also called me a b*$%# when i asked to stretch! I couldn't help i needed to stretch especially being in an uncomfortable position fir hours!!! I wouldn't wish Popo's customer service on my worst enemy! Please go elsewhere. My friends had already advised me she was rude and unprofessional I should have listened!

I've been here twice. I really love her braid quality which is the reason for the 3 stars. And I love that she plays African movies while you receive services. However, she doesn't listen to what you actually want. Also, she always ask you to slide down in her chair so she can see the top of your head. It's very uncomfortable and unprofessional. I'm only 5'4 and she is probably 5' to 5'2. She definitely needs to invest in a adjustable chair for herself. Trust me, her braids look really good, but I think this is my last time going to her. African braids are too expensive to be inconvenienced in this way!

Very disappointed with the time it took to do my hair. Very disappointed with the fact my hair was braided on June 26. I paid $180 went back July 3rd cause the braids in the back were slipping out. PoPo redid them and charged me an additional$20. My style was nice however it was not parted where I can style it any ways with straight parts so that was limited. Today is August 2nd my birthday was yesterday August 1st. I went out of town and had to wear my hair cause it cost too much to take out in less than 2 months but I did take it out today cause 3 came out on the right side. While taking them out I realized PoPo cut my natural hair when she quickly cut the braids out in the back to redo them. My overall experience was not pleasant. I was told to come at 4:30pm. Her mom didn't start til bout 6:45pm. I didn't leave til about 12am that's very sad. The photo in the dress was 2 days before my birthday. The photo with the white scarf was on my birthday😒🤦

Super unprofessional! Very loud and talked on the phone the whole time while doing my hair. Showed her a picture and didn’t receive what I asked for although she said she could do it. Very rough with my head like I was not a human and accused me of being tender headed when she was obviously snatching my head. Used the excuse my hair was thick as the reason my braids were crooked. Never going back!! She obviously doesn’t look at these reviews because she claims she does everyone’s hair good.

I didn't get what I asked for. Instead I got very small parts and braids. I got there at 10 am and left at 9:10 pm. She was more concerned about getting more clients than about the clients that was in front of her. I would have left when I saw the two other clients in the seat because she forgot about my appointment time. Instead of her telling me to come back, she left the other client and started in my hair. There were only two hair braiders in there. She told me she called another braider and she was coming. She never came. My hair is too soft to have those small braids in them. They're already slipping and it hasn't been a two weeks yet. The worst experience I've ever had from any business.

I made an appointment the previous Friday for that Monday, when I arrived she had double booked, she started me and the other young lady..Needless to say, I will never return.. There 15 hours...Very unprofessional..

I called Popo 2 days before for an appointment. On the phone she told me one price. When I arrived she told me another price $100 more than the phone price and bc I needed the hair due last minute I said okay. 7 1/2 hours later after she quoted me 5 to 6 hours she went up $10 more on the price. After I told her she didn't tell me that she changed the price again she laughed and said I misunderstood bc of her face mask. This place is a scam. The mother and aunt talked on the phone, to each other and stopped to watch the t.v. they are very unprofessional and treated me like I wasn't a paying customer. Will take my business and money to a professional next time.
