We stayed here for a last minute trip to Jay Peak to chase a snow storm and it couldn’t have been any better. The bulldog suite was clean, comfortable and cozy. The multiple hot tubs were hot and ready to use after skiing all day and the awesome breakfast that Darren cooks up every morning is something you’re not going to want to miss.

Excellent place to stay if you’re skiing at Jay. 10 minutes from the mountain. Staff was welcoming and accommodating, room was spotless and cozy, breakfast (included) was amazing.

Great B&B in the center of Montgomery and a short drive from Jay Peak. Darren was a welcoming and good host. The spa access (dry saunas and hot tub) was awesome and the free hot breakfast in the morning was a nice treat! Will definitely be staying again for a jay peak ski weekend!

We had a wonderful little getaway at Lynne and Darren’s Inn. Beautiful suite with a delicious breakfast in a lovely location. The hospitality was top notch and we’re looking forward to a return trip in the near future.

Darren & Lynne and staff are the greatest. We have been traveling to Inns and B&B's for over 30 years. Now we have found another gem. Darren & Lynne were so accommodating for us. We will never forget how we were treated, and the beautiful Inn. This Inn has just been added to our list. It's what you need when you want to get away!

Great stay this past weekend and very personable hosts. Great location for sights and fall foliage. Breakfast was delicious and very filling. The amenities right on location were very welcome. The location is very close to Canada (note to self, bring passports next time). The character and upkeep of this house makes it worth staying at the first and following times to come.

The little add ons and inclusions made the stay for us. |The spa on site, sauna and hot tubs to use by guests, great breakfast, genuine friendly people. |Beautiful surroundings add to the overall experience.|Comfy beds, not for short people!!

This is the cutest inn I’ve ever stayed in!! Lynne and Darren are the sweetest couple and so helpful and they take hospitality to another level! My husband and I checked in around 9 pm and we brought some pizza to eat in our room. I asked Lynne if I could warm it up in a microwave or something but she took it to the next level. She set up a whole table for us, warmed up the pizza in the oven for us, brought us some homemade cookies(divine), and had the loveliest conversation with us. It felt like we’ve known her for years!!! Literally never felt so at home. We already are planning a trip back during Christmas time of how much we loved it! I recommend this place so much!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Phineas Swann Inn & Spa. It is the cutest inn and provides a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. The grounds are beautiful and the river is a plus. It also had all the amenities you would need and was spotless. The hosts, Lynne and Darren, were down-to-earth and very welcoming. On arrival we were greeted by Lynne who immediately made us feel at home. One night sitting by the fire and talking with Lynne (and her adorable dog Maple) felt as if we had known her for years. Lynne and Darren went above and beyond making sure we enjoyed our stay. Even as far as making the greatest suggestion of spending a day over the border in Canada in the cutest town of Sutton (and restaurant suggestions as well). The staff was equally as friendly and accommodating, to the point of making sure we had breakfast before our very early departure. The breakfast at the inn is amazing! We highly recommend the Phineas Swan Inn and Spa. It is a real gem and look forward to visiting again real soon!!

Very beautiful old house in a picturesque Vermont town. Great facilities and friendly staff (special call out for lovely Rita). Awesome breakfast every day. Highly recommended.

WOW! I didn’t expect this place to be as great as it was! The couple that ran it were so kind. The breakfast was great! They thought of everything. We had a room by the river and a fireplace behind it and was going to start a fire and they gave us all the stuff to make s’more! Had tons of snacks and cookies everyday. I’m so glad I found this place!

Darren especially was very professional and accommodating to our needs. Our wedding was absolutely beautiful and well staffed with a thoughtful and kind team. The grounds are extremely well kept and the rooms are inviting. Our four legged companion was also treated very well.

My fiance and I stayed here over the weekend for a small vacation and it was a spectacular experience. Lynn went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and relaxed. If anyone is looking for a rejuvenating place to go, I would highly recommend the Phineas Swann. We will definitely be back :)

Wow this place is so cute!! Amazing hospitality, they have everything you could need and it's very clean. The location is fantastic if you are going to Jay Peak, and it is a great weekend trip from Montreal. The DVD collection and popcorn in each room was such a nice touch! We visited in the summer but would love to come back in the winter and take advantage of their saunas/hot tubs. Highly recommend!

Just had my wedding their over the weekend and it was more than I could have wished for. They took my vision and turned it into a beautiful wedding. Everyone that attended the wedding said the place was beautiful and the wedding was perfect. I loved that we were able to all have breakfast together and be so close to each other. If you are looking for a romantic weekend or to have your wedding I definitely recommend them. The place is beautiful and all the staff were friendly and amazing hands down my dream wedding. We will be back for our anniversary

Lynne and Darren were wonderful, gracious, and yet down-to-earth hosts. We felt at home as soon as we walked in the door. We stayed 3 nights in the Green Room in the Main Lodge. It was very charming and comfortable. We were there for the 2024 Eclipse and they went above and beyond with eclipse entertainment -- including a band, wonderful drinks and appetizers, and then an amazing dinner to top it all off! The entire staff is friendly and helpful. Even the mascot, Maple, the dog, was friendly and endearing! Lynne and Darren are hard-working 24/7 making sure their guests are comfortable. Their hearts and souls are truly into the business and it shows! We highly recommend the Phineas Swann Inn! The area of Vermont where they are located is beautiful with several covered bridges, charming landscape and a large ski resort just a few minutes away! It's a great getaway!

Perfect bed and breakfast in a beautiful, quiet, scenic location, including two outdoor hot tubs on site, and Trout River just steps away. The house and our room were so cozy and comfortable and dog friendly. The hosts were so helpful and friendly and every detail has been thought of to make this the best B&B we’ve stayed in.

Staff is very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We requested a first floor room with some accessibility for crutches and were pleased with our resulting ease in settling in. |The bed was very comfortable. The hot tubs were both disappointedly tepid and the spa was not available at the time we went. Gina prepared a delicious hot breakfast with fruit, and we greatly enjoyed visiting with the other guests. Even though visiting in the Vermont "stick" season, we still had Sunday evening dining options close by. We want to return in the summer to see the splendors of the garden in bloom.

The people who run this place are rude, intransigent, dishonest, and refuse to admit their own mistakes. They do not honor their reservations. My wife and I booked a 2-night package stay and were really looking forward to it. But later, they called and said 1) that the package THEY OFFERED wasn't available on those dates, 2) it was a threee night minimum stay, and 3) the price would be $1,000 more than the reservation was for. I asked how those things could be when I booked the reservation through THEIR OWN SITE. They just shrugged and said "we dunno how it happened, whatever, mystery computer error, sucks for you." They ruined our big plans for a romantic weekend, and didn't offer a thing in return. Its a bad sign for a bus8ness when THEY make a mistake and refuse to fix it even when it costs them zero money or time. They weren't even apologetic at all, acting as if it were my fault and nothing could be done. i said since it was THEIR MISTAKE, they should make it right by making a simple policy exception to their 3-night rule, but oh, nooooo! Instead of acting like good hosts and bending their (undisclosed) policy this one time, they acted as if it were a federal law or a holy edit carved in stone or something, and refused to bend an inch even though it would have been trivially simple, and cost-free, to do. They took no responsibility for their screwup and just casually blew away our plans without doing anything to fix it or even really apologizing. Their web site says they "do everything in our power to ensure a good stay." HA! That is a massive LIE! They had the power to make good on their mistake with zero effort on their part and did nothing. I call that terrible hosting, when you create a problem for a guest and refuse to fix your own mistake. So much for "everything in our power". Everyone avoid this place if you care about reliable reservations or trying to accommodate guests. Their web site is NOT ACCURATE and HIDES important information. They don't care and won't budge an inch for you. They have no honor or care to do even the simplest things. They say "we suggest you stay sonewhere else". I suggest that they FIX THEIR SYSTEM and not make guests responsible for errors that system makes. Note that in their response they don't mention any attempt to fix their problem because there was no attempt at all. They seem to think that because they called me that makes eveything ok.

We stayed here for a couple of nights for some rest and relaxation and it did not disappoint. The owners, Darren and Lynne have created such a wonderful experience for their guests. We do not ski, but this place is perfect for those wanting to be close to the slopes and have an amazing place to stay. We had the Trout River suite overlooking the river and it was so quiet. It had all the comforts of home with a full kitchen, private bathroom, bedroom and living room area. We walked out onto the deck and overlooked the beautiful river. Every morning they serve a delicious breakfast that will fill you up and you won't even need lunch. They have an on-site spa with full services which we took full advantage of. We both had great massages, they have two saunas as well as two outdoor hot tubs. There was a snowstorm while we were there and we had a great time sitting in the hot tub relaxing outside watching the snowfall. They have a wonderful sitting area where you can play games, as well as a lot of other little extras that are included in your stay. Did I mention that it is also pet friendly. We would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to get away and have a wonderful time. We look forward to coming back in the future. Went for a winter weekend away and got just that. What a nice place to come for relaxation or if you ski. We managed to book on a weekend that it snowed almost a foot. We enjoyed a couple of massages, some hot tub time and some good company. The staff was superb and friendly. This should be on a bucketlist. Thank you to the Dreviks and the staff for a wonderful stress free weekend.

we booked for 3 nights ended up staying 7! Not much more needed to be said! Great service, very welcoming, great location close to all you need for a quite getaway and close to Jay Peak mountain. Can not forget to mention breakfast were delicious with special yummi Dutch Pancakes from Gina! THANK YOU we will be back for sure!

My fiancé and I absolutely loved our stay! We are planning to have our wedding at the Phineas Swann in September, and we wanted to a weekend just the two of us to see what it would be like to be there. The food was amazing, our room was extremely cozy, and Lynn and Darren were friendly, attentive, and really wanted to make sure we enjoyed our stay! I can’t wait to be back!

We had a phenomenal stay at this location for a Jay Peak ski vacation. We stayed in the Retreat Room which was perfect for us and our son. It was meticulously clean, cozy, and comfortable. The hosts couldn’t have been more welcoming and accommodating. We loved walking around their well thought out and beautiful property. We enjoyed the hot tub, the outdoor heated igloo, the spa, and the generous treats / snacks offered. It was also very convenient to purchase excellent wine on the property. We HIGHLY recommend this property for their location, great accommodations, delicious breakfast, and friendly owners.
