The best place that respects and values variety. Melisa worked on my hair, an she was very nice and friendly. I would strongly recommend you this place especially for Muslim ladies who are looking for a private place to get hair cut, color, highlights, keratin treatment and etc.

I have so much respect for this place. I left a voice mail 3 years ago when I was looking for a salon that could accommodate my need for a private space due to religious beliefs. The manager called my number the next day saying that they are willing to take care of my haircut, so I have been cutting my hair there ever since . This time because of COVID, the salon has limited the number of customers inside, and I get to have the whole salon VIP experience.. the manager even covered the window and the glass door for my sake! It is amazing how they are eager to provide best customer service for their clients. edit: I miss it :(

Theresa does an amazing job! After scouring the internet and Instagram for a talented balayage stylist, I found Theresa. I was nervous to color my hair and wanted to make sure to find the most qualified person to do it. She ended up doing a flawless balayage on my hair. I feel like I can trust her with any color or hair style, likewise I trust her to tell me when something wouldn't work and steer me in the right direction. We always have great conversation which I really appreciate. I haven't been styling my hair as often lately because of covid and the world being upside-down but I look forward to seeing her more regularly as things (hopefully) begin to normalize. I will continue to rely on Theresa for all my hair styling needs as long as we are both in Portland. Novare Salon has a great location in Sellwood. It is just a couple minutes down the road from my house in Milwaukie. The salon is always well kept and clean. I like how you never have to leave your station because they each have their own sink.

Got my hair cut by Theresa today and it looks so good I can't stop checking myself out. Curls on curls on curls. Now, it's easy to look great just walking out of the salon all styled, but I'm talking about - I went swimming and washed my hair again and it still looks great hours later. That's a good cut!

Low-key , not too fussy, hair salon (just the way I like it!) . I was able to get a same-day appointment for a haircut and at a reasonable price. The staff was nice and the haircut turned out great!

Yvette Tallentire is the amazing owner and hair stylist at Novare. She is professional, charming and responsive to her customers needs. Yvette styled my daughter's hair for her wedding. She took the time to get to know my daughter's hair in the salon ahead of time, practiced many different looks for the bride to be and asked all the right questions and made suggestions based on my daughter's desired look. Yvette, then came early to the wedding, styled the bride, bridesmaids and family members hair with grace, humor and professionalism. She doted on each individual, made them feel special and made their hair beautiful for this special occasion. Her talents as a hair stylist and knowledge of her craft are second to none and her charm and humor make the experience exceptional.

I've been going here for 10+ years. No need to keep looking around with these girls.They are expert at cut/color. I know that they go to the expense and trouble of continuing their training and staying on trend with tops in the industry in NY. I wasn't blessed with perfect hair but Yvette does wonders and I'm complimented often. All credit goes to her, believe me. They are lovely, lovely women as well. If you've been looking for a stylist, look no further, this is the place for you =)
