Beautiful views and ambiance. Wouldn’t recommend for a babymoon. Lots of kids impacting ability to relax, inadequate seating in the breakfast areas (not ideal when pregnant), lots of the activities they offer you can’t partake in when pregnant.

A great experience from start to finish! This was our first trip to Mohonk, and we weren't sure what to expect, but our experience was so much more than expected! Even in Jan, there were more things to do than we had time for. The beautiful mountain house view will take your breath away, as will the incredible history of this amazing resort. We have traveled to some really nice resorts, but this was distinctly different in a very good way. The service was friendly and efficient. The amenities, especially the spa, were first rate. We spent a lovely afternoon getting massages and soaking in the outdoor mineral bath in the snow! An experience we will always remember! And the food was also really well done. Prices are steep but appropriate for the value. Highly recommend!

Transport yourself to a simpler time enjoying simple pleasures in an historic inn with amazing hiking, outdoor activities, and excellent food. Spend extra to get a room with a fireplace!

A wonderful experience. Was only there for one night and it's not enough time if you want to explore the grounds and all it has to offer. I had a morning massage session and it was amazing. The entire staff is topnotch. Def valet park if you have too much stuff. They have daily activities like a history tour of the hotel, meditation, outdoor activities, etc. the grounds are beautiful, the hotel is massive. And while it's not the inspiration for The Shining ( was the Stanley) it's certainly reminiscent. I visited in January but it would be more amazing in spring summer as there are decks with lounge chairs abound.

Best trip ever, the naturalist who has been working for almost 2 decades there is the reason I will be returning, well that and the food… and the scenery! Kudos to naturalist though, his guided nature walks transcend all expectations and challenge even the most astute thinkers in a thoughtful way.

I just finished a wonderful weekend at Mohonk. It’s an absolutely beautiful place to unwind for a while. The staff took excellent care of my fiancée and me with such kindness and attention that it will leave a lasting impression. Max at the front desk, along with Kidane and Jamaal's team in the dining room, went above and beyond for every guest, making Mohonk Mountain House one of New York’s many treasures.

The first time we visited the mountainhouse was 14 years ago for my wife's 60th birthday. Since then we have been there 21 times. At least twice most years. This year will be 4 times. Most times we can only afford 2 or 3 nights. As we are retired. When they opened near the end of the pandemic, we even went then to support the resort. They arrange for us to stay in one of my 3 favorite rooms .I love the place. My wife loves to swim in the lake and i love to eat and enjoy the beautiful view. If they had a cemetery there, I would love to spend eternity there.

We had stayed at Mohonk in January 2024 for our babymoon and came back this weekend with our daughter. Unfortunately, as 10-month olds do, she developed a high fever, cough, and was inconsolable for most of Saturday night. Concerned about the fever and not wanting her crying to keep the entire 4th floor up all night, we informed guest services that we would likely need to leave Saturday night instead of Sunday afternoon. The staff and manager on duty (my apologies for forgetting your name as we were rushing out) could not have been more helpful, taking care of everything related to our unplanned early checkout. They defrosted the car, brought it around front, and warmed it up for us, took care of canceling my wife’s spa appointment, and graciously refunded us for the unspent part of our trip. While we were there, the food and service were great as usual, and made for the beginnings of a great weekend. Is Mohonk inexpensive? No, but the service and care you receive is worth it and is what will keep us coming back as a family for years to come. Thank you again!

A wonderful experience that has been repeated for me and my husband many times over many years and now, as a widow, for me, alone. Greatly enjoy Qigong, Tai Chi, Yoga, Pool, Outdoor activities, the Beauty of Nature, the setting, the Hotel. This year I had the Best Massage of my life. Great staff. Met many kind, caring, interesting people. Food is excellent, if too plentiful, but moderate eating habits allow me to be hungry for every meal. Relaxing. Beautiful. Restorative. Meditative. All that could be expected of a Historic Hotel that continues to preserve and protect the environment and human ideals of beauty, truth, kindness, consideration and compassion for the planet and its people.

My wife and I visited as part of a New Year’s eve celebration. It was peaceful and quiet and just what we needed to recharge for the new year. The grounds were beautiful and we very much enjoyed exploring the many trails. We will definitely return.

Came for Christmas buffet lunch and was very disappointed Food was so mediocre and I felt like I was in a cafeteria no ambiance whatsoever At $360 for 2? Really? Never again

First visit for a mother-daughter spa getaway! Amazing, "Christmas Village," feel. The resort was wonderful! Great indoor and outdoor recreation. Many staff members have been working for the resort for decades. Happy environment! Will look forward to returning for a longer stay.

I just ate Christmas buffet lunch here. Was very disappointed with the food. $175 per person. I expected a wonderful spread, but it was quite mediocre. The meats ( Roast beef, turkey, ham) were all overcooked. The salad bar was sparse to say the least. The desserts were ok, but nothing special. The wow of this place was a great view, and the service was good. But for $175, I expected delicious food……….

I would NOT recommend, very disappointing especially for the price. Multiple issues: - Housekeeping / other staff members would enter room without knocking. One man randomly walked in and out of our room while my wife was changing which was unacceptable. When confronted, he just said he was checking if we needed more wood for the fireplace. - Service was poor. It seems liked staff did not like working there - Food was subpar. Breakfast was a sad motel like buffet. Lunch and dinner were just ok, but limited options and hours. It was impossible to eat anything if you wanted to do an early dinner. Room service was extra charge which was annoying given the place is advertised as all inclusive. - Rooms were old and outdated. Expect much better for the price.

We went to Mohonk Mountain House for our 20th wedding anniversary in mid-December. The upside: the property is beautiful, both the mountain house and the surrounding natural area. The staff were very friendly. The food was great. We enjoyed every meal we had and made the most of the cost of the stay with high end food at each meal. The beds were comfortable. The summerhouses, especially those facing the mountains, were great. The downside: after anticipating our stay for about 6 months (thinking about the beautiful view of the lake from the cliff), I was immediately disappointed. Despite the property not being very busy when we were there, we were put in a room that was next to a stairwell and the elevators (noisy) with a view of a roof top and a minimal view of the lake. The activities offered were fairly lame, the nature walk was largely uninformative/not interesting (though the guy was nice enough), the alcohol at lunch and dinner and the food in the bar was way too expensive for what you got, and there isn't a hot tub or sauna available to guests unless you book a ridiculously expensive spa treatment. A hotel of this caliber should offer a hot tub to all guests. Overall, our stay was OK, but there is absolutely no way I would spend many thousands of dollars to stay there again given what we got/experienced. Perhaps it is better in the summer when there are more activities available, but with no snow there's not much to do in the winter and we were bored by the end of the second day. The ice skating was decent and the giant fireplace next to the rink was a nice feature, but the ice in the rink was really torn up when we were on it. This was pretty much the only "winter" activity we could do.

A true Victorian castle in modern Time. I’ve never been to Heaven but visiting there must feel close!? The Smiley family being Quakers. They sure knew what they were doing! And it seems they only employ the best! Thank you, to all the wonderful staff and the Smiley family for a wonderful visit😊

I've stayed at Mohonk overnight a few times; I've also gone many times with a day pass for lunch, the Spa and hiking, and to just sit on their rockers on the deck overlooking the lake........it's always the perfect time. I can't say enough about the excellent staff they employ!! My recent phone experience with Natalie was no less the service I have come to expect when I visit Mohonk. Natalie answered all my questions, which were many, and was extremely patient with me. She even called me back after speaking with her supervisor to give me additional information! I can't wait to go back! From the excellent food to the best cocktails ever!!! Savana, the bartender made a drink just for me!! I just LOVE Mohonk!!!!....and that's without mentioning their countless activities available daily!!!!
