I was looking for a good salon for a decent haircut and color and decided to try Mitchell's Salon in Hyde Park (actually it's in Rookwood Commons). It's very close to me so the location is another reason I choose this Mitchell's. I was treated so nicely by the stylist, Hailey, who took care of me and gave me a very nice haircut and blowdry, I was very pleased with the way she cut and styled my hair. I went back the following week for a color and again, Hailey did a very good job, the color is exactly what I wanted and it looks very nice. I highly recommend Mitchell's Salon in Hyde Park and designer Hailey.

I go to Mitchells for manicures and pedicures on a regular basis. Everyone in the nail salon is friendly and professional. My nails always look great. They are always on time. I feel comfortable and welcomed always. I would recommend 100%

A hair salon staff that is tone deaf and tone blind! All puns intended - Not only did I have multiple consultations and rescheduling errors but the execution and skill all around was poor. Started with virgin short hair (dark sandy bronde) a very easy lightening job. The first session turned out a strange Donald Trump, Guy Fieri hybrid job that was sloppily done: it wasn’t highlight, it wasn’t full color, it wasn’t balayage- idk wth it even was. The girl was sweet so being put in a position of GUILT + frustration is so stressful. She simply didn’t use the correct approach yet in the consultation was confident. I was scheduled for a fix (with Hana?) who was caught off guard that I was even put on her schedule so she sent me OUT stating that my hair wasn’t properly done thus needs a Sr. level who can color correct (Hana seemed to be the only one with bedside manners and HONESTY with the result) The fix involved multiple bodies and THE manager yet they still somehow missed several full chunks of my natural hair? The 2nd take yielded a strange Mrs Claus with my roots LIGHTER than the rest of my hair and dark streaks. They cannot blend or shadow if their life depended on it. Now I know why most of their clientele is elderly. I was put in such awkward situations multiple times. The manager at times tried to blame my hair, the ‘director’ who was supposed to be color correcting spoke to me so disrespectfully when I asked about the technique + essentially told me to go to other salon where they’ve never botched my hair. I was in tears on multiple occasions from frustration + embarrassment, had to drive there and be sent home. I had a skin resurfacing peel before (bc I didn’t anticipate needing a bunch of hair appts) so my skin looked nuts to boot so I didn’t need multiple sessions of people in my face during this healing process- Younger women know what I mean😅My hair still isn’t proper looking so have to go to another salon to slowly salvage a normal looking blonde or color. Save your time, the integrity of your hair, and respect and go to better professionals.

I have been hesitant to write this but at this point I feel like I have to a year ago I went to the tricounty location for a color correct where my hair had been lighten (with a low developer I might add) to remove dark color it was pretty patchy and I wanted it evened out and cover with another color like a brown she said I would have to put a level one back on my hair I said OK maybe this appointment shouldn’t happen and I should just continue to wait and grow it out because I didn’t want that. She insisted that she could do my hair and when I asked her if she could do a test Strand to make sure it would be OK. She immediately followed up with no we don’t do those here. Fast-forward a few hours later, my hair was literally falling off in chunks in my lap. Someone in HR told me to drive to the Hyde Park location immediately I did they assessed my hair told me it was pretty much blown beyond repair but the Hyde Park team did work really hard to try to repair it more so Mila and Hannah! They offered conditioning treatments at no charge and refunded me my money and I appreciate that a lot! That was never the issue the following year after that was the issue. Even though my hair looked better, it was still completely damaged so I knew really the only thing I could do was chop it off. I did chop it off very short grew it back out again to my back, then chopped it off again. I Tried to go back to pump because that had been the salon I’ve gone to for years after a year of treating my hair, cutting it growing it out. She was fine to do my hair until she saw my profile call Hyde park and then all of a sudden she won’t touch me I said OK I’ll go back Hyde Park then go back to Hyde Park to see what they can do with very low expectations meet with Hannah who is absolutely amazing. She gives me another cut does a test strand confirms that my hair was in a lot better shape and was OK to start moving forward with a low and slow lightning process! We were going to schedule it 6 to 8 weeks out that same week I got invited to something big and important. I tried to call and get him with Hannah to go ahead and Do it now unfortunately she was booked so I just asked them to send me anywhere anywhere that could get And I would follow up with Hannah I go to Kenwood meet with Nicolette who was absolutely amazing. She confirmed that My hair could be done and did a test strand For the next day, then I get a voicemail from the manager at Kenwood saying that she was going to cancel my appointment They weren’t willing to touch my hair And I needed to go back to Hyde park and see a stylist that I wasn’t even Or had seen in a year But that stylist also wouldn’t do my hair With a lightning service. It was really blown out of proportion the stylist really could have just said no. All the managers and the vice president calling each other and all the extra BS really wasn’t needed And it really felt like I was something dirty that no one wanted to touch Long story short, I went somewhere else They did my hair. It looks amazing. It feels amazing. It’s so healthy. I’ve never felt uglier than in the one year I went to Mitchell’s. Do better. Also telling me that It wasn’t Hannah’s decision to make to do my hair when I’m pretty sure I was paying Hannah to do my hair is absolutely nuts. Treat your stylist better. Because Hannah was 100% right
