They are definitely overpriced. I went to a braidshop in Tyler and did the box braids that were waist length for $240. They also change their prices arbitrarily.

Mitas is thé best hair braiding place hands down in Longview. I when there with two of my girls the service was amazing my girls got senegalés and i got box braids mid back, the braids were neat and they gave us a discount plus chips and drinks while we were getting our hair done. I will be back again thank Mama, saran, and Brigette for all your Good work i’ll be back soon ro see yall again.

made an appointment the day before to get my hair braided spoke to the owner received a price and a time in which to come when I arrived there were three other people booked at the same time because it was my first time I was unaware that it was first come first serve like you were at a bar .my appointment that I made with the owner was at 9 AM , I sat there until 1 PM when I was able to be put in a chair did not leave until 430 when the services was done I asked about some kind of discount for having to wait 4 extra hours, she said they don’t do that because she’s had other clients cancel on her but because of the inconvenience I should have been compensated for something but she acted like she didn’t care that I was there four extra hours which was a very big inconvenience the only good part was the actual hairstyle that I received was what I wanted but more information should’ve been given when I made this appointment ..

I don't normally write reviews. The people were nice. I wish I would've known the price before I got there. I got box braids waist length that cost $300. I honestly think paying that much is over rated. I always get my hair braided and always got waist length and I have never paid $300. I got my hair braided in Tyler before and the price was $200 waist length so I assumed it would've been around the same price. I only had my braids in for a week and a day. My braids are already loose and starting to come out in the back. Very unacceptable for a person to be paying $300 for braids for them to already become loose. The old lady that complains about her back please don't let her braid your hair you will be disappointed I don't know why they even allow her to braid no offence. If you do decide to get your hair braided here please request Divine. I wish I would've let her braid my whole head. Her work is neat and she braids tight to my liking. Luckily I know how to braid so I can re-braid the back but I shouldn't have to after paying all that money. This was my first time here and my last time here.

I looked at the reviews and was scared to go here because people were saying they braid to tight, but they were awesome, everyone in there were friendly and funny. The lady that did my hair was nice and she took her time and my hair came out perfect. They are a little expensive than I thought they would be but it’s worth it. Definitely going back.

The atmosphere and people working here were nice but DON’T COME HERE TO GET A DREAD RETWIST. The lady that did my hair used gel and after it dried it started to flake up. Plus she didn’t retwist some of them individually. She twisted 5-7 pairs of dreads together and i had to take my time and untwist them. The price was reasonable but i don’t think it should cost $10 for a hair wash.

ZERO STARS IF POSSIBLE!!!! My 16 yr old went to this shop alone to get box braids because I was sick with Covid and could not go. They charge $250 for mid back and $300 for butt length. She paid $250 for mid back. Her hair looked horrible and many of the supposedly mid back braids were only shoulder length. It looked very unprofessional and some of the braids were unraveling by the time she got home (we live almost an hour from the salon). She asked for a skunk stripe in the back so that the color would show only when she put it in a bun… look at the pictures… they said the only had butt length hair in the colored hair and they put 2 different lengths of hair in her head and allowed her to leave this way! The black hair was also so short that she could barely put it in a bun! I called the same day and the owner assured me that she would fix it if I brought her back. I took her back and she only wanted to take out the longer braids and put in more short black hair. I told her I was not happy with even the black hair and asked for a refund. She told me no refunds, but to bring her back and she would put in butt length braids for the inconvenience and she would supply the hair and do it herself. We went back and she was not there at the appointment time 8AM… she was asleep when I called. She did not remember; we waited 40 minutes for her to show up! She then asked if I had hair and I told her no, you told me you would have it! She then told me hair would be $5 /bag! Knowing I could not get my $250 back, I said fine. Then she pulls out the same short hair that they had done my daughters hair with the 1st time and the same lady that braided it last time was there to help her even though she told me she would braid it! When I asked if she was doing butt length like she told me, she said no! She did not honor anything she told me. We left with no braids. I was not about to pay her for hair I had already paid for. I guess we will go to court soon! Horrible work and horrible customer service!!!! Never again!!!! Look at the photo!
