Just a ten/ten! Mimi and her sister were wonderful with my son who I took to their salon to box braid his hair. We will be going back every 3 weeks to get it done again! Thank you so very much! You all are wonderful. I just wanted to add, Mimi and her sister are not only superb talents, but two absolutely kind and warm people. They made my son feel so special while he was getting his hair braided!

If I could give this salon zero stars, that rating would be accurate. I called in and inquired about getting knotless braids. I arrived on time and had to wait a short while before they got started with me. The salon is not a clean space. Very messy and dirty. I was very uncomfortable, but being my first time there, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubts I was having. The lady who was doing my hair spent most of her time on Instagram and on her phone. At a certain point I had to request that they focus on getting my hair done as they were wasting time. They were polite and proceeded to focus on getting done. The final product was so disappointing after sitting for nearly 7hrs. She destroyed the look by cutting the ends horribly. Not to mention their prices are absolutely ridiculous!!! When I inquired she quoted one price and the next she doubled the charge. They are crooks and unfortunately I was scammmed by their conniving ploy. Do not go to this salon! Save your money and get a professional stylist to do your hair! The worst experience!

I went in last week for a quick blowout. This was probably the worst thing I could have done for my hair. It was shampooed twice and then conditioned but my hair was not detangled. She proceeded to rip through my hair with the brush while blowing it. She was not only ripping through my natural, tangled hair but occasionally burning me. Once this was done she flat ironed my hair without out adding any products leaving my blow out very frizzy. However, she asked if I wanted to buy an oil that her sister makes that was in a bottle with no label. No clue what was in there. When it was time to pay, she tried to charge me $35 over the price that was quoted on the phone. Don’t go here! There was no genuine concern over the condition of my hair or having a returning customer. I have had my hair blown out for many, many years and this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. I’m very upset with the possible damage she did to my hair as well as the dishonesty with pricing for an awful job.

At first glance this seems like a legit establishment, until you realize there’s a reason nobody else is going in. This is probably the biggest scam I have ever seen. All I went in for was wash, dry and 4 braids assuming it can’t cost more than $50 which I was already quoted. Walked out with just wash and dry after 15 min because Mimi wanted $90 for WASH, DRY AND 4 BRAIDS. They want $90 for $20 service. Don’t waste your time or money they will end up scamming you. Do your research before going and go somewhere else.

Mimi is an amazing hair braider. She take walk ins and has staff to support as well. I don’t go anywhere else to get my hair braided. Mimi does it and the prices are affordable. Thank you Mimi!

Mimis is a laid back style shop. She is kind and a skilled artist. She did my feed in braids and only sorta tugged on this tender head 🙃even tho when I pointed out my 2 braids were not even and she told me it was my head, im still gonna be back to see Mimi. Li pale kreyol too!

Worst experience ever. I waited for an hour to get my hair done and then she proceeds to charge me $250 for short box braids when the last time I went it was $200 for longer braids. I asked what she could do for $200 and she simply ignored me. Basically she didnt care, had an attitude and didnt want to give me any type of service. These ladies do not know how to run a business or else I would have gotten a different style in my price range. Complete waste of my time and I wouldnt recommend anyone to go here you will be disappointed

I went to Mimi's for the first time today and both she and her daughter gave me outstanding service and general kindness!! My hair looked fabulous!! Mimi knows her stuff and did my hair without hesitation considering the bad shape my hair was in. She was able to braid the shortest parts of my hair. I have found my hairdresser and look forward to my next visit. Do use her services. You will be pleased!!! Thanks Ladies!! DB-Vegas!

If I could give this place a zero I would. They scheduled a appointment with me for today, July 6th. I drove all the way from Sussex county to make the 10am appointment only to find the door locked and the shop closed. I called the shop owner and left a voicemail letting her know that I was waiting on the street for my scheduled 10am appointment. I asked for a return call to let me know if I should continue waiting until someone arrived. I didn't even get a call back. Very unprofessional and rude. Please don't waste your time dealing with this unprofessional rude owner or her daughter. I took my business elsewhere. How ghetto.

Mimi was amazing. Dad and I wanted our daughters hair braided, being a little nervous that she wouldn't sit still and also being that she is very very tender headed. We gave her an idea and told her to go to work. And she did just that. Our daughter who is 22 months old sat in the chair for 35 min while Mimi braided without moving or crying,barely tensing up. Mimi was so gentle and calm while braiding our daughters hair. We definitely will be going back every 2 weeks, and allow her to braid how she wants. I also went in at 11 am asked her when I can go she said 3pm and we were able to go at 245pm. She even stopped eating her lunch to start our daughters hair

A relaxer was done on a clients hair and a big mistake was made ignoring the clients request for removal due to a burning sensation. When she finally removed it some hair went along just burning the edges of her hair. She then proceeded to add vinegar “PAINFUL” NO APOLOGIES! NO FOLLOW UP PHONE CALL! OH BUT SHE DEFINITELY CHARGED FULL PRICE! Her edges were raw making it very uncomfortable when styling. It’s not about the money but more of the response. This was very disappointing. My mother-in-law will not be back!!! Nunca, JAMAS!!!

If I could give zero stars I would...I am not here to bash anyone or their business - I have my own, it's unprofessional, & it's not in my nature. I am simply here to let other potential clients of this establishment know how disappointing my experience was with Mimi - more so after my service than during. My regular braid stylist could not fit me in before a business trip on 1/20/22, so I booked an appointment with Mimi for extension braiding. This was my 1st time using Mimi or her salon for any service. Her initial customer service was ok; no issues. Even during my service, everything was fine. Although I was not particularly impressed with her actual braiding technique (the braids were a bit thicker & tighter that I am used to), it was my 1st time with her & like I said, she was not my regular stylist. I paid in full & left. Mind you, I'm not new to getting extension braiding. I have been getting braids for 10+ years. I understand, acknowledge, and expect that the braids can feel "tight" the 1st few days. However, what I experienced was not normal. After just a few hours, the pain was UNBEARABLE. My scalp was throbbing & a full on migraine ensued and i was concerned for extreme breakage around my hairline. I waited a little longer - but the pain was so severe I had no choice but to remove the braids immediately. Although it's still very, very sore the relief was instant. I sent Mimi a text the same night to let her know my experience in detail. I was not rude, I was not confrontational - I simple explained. I asked for a refund of the service, minus the cost of the hair. Her immediate response was more or less, "it's not my problem, I provided a service" etc. I tried again to explain in more detail my dissatisfaction & that I was not discrediting that her time is money, hence my more than generous offer to even let her keep some for product cost. After her response, I asked her what resolution she can offer, considering my request was clearly not acceptable to her. If not a refund, at the least I would accept her to offer to redo my braids at no charge. As I said, I leave for a business trip tomorrow so could not have rescheduled for today, but an offer would have been acceptable to me - at the time. Instead of offering any compromise or resolution she called me & began SCREMAING at me (my sister was in the car and could not believe it) that I was wrong, she was not giving me any refund, etc. I could barely understand her and I could not even get a word in.. I ended the conversation by yelling over her and I said, "You clearly need the money more than I do, but please remember that most businesses rely on word of mouth & reviews. Have a nice day." Let me just say that I am a stylist/colorist with my own salon. I am very familiar with this industry & I pride myself on providing exceptional customer service to all my clients. I also understand how to accommodate a dissatisfied customer with professionalism & grace. I was very disappointed & surprised to learn firsthand that Mimi lacked both. I'm sure she has just enough satisfied customers to obviously keep her in business - for now. But I also believe if she treats all dissatisfied customers the way she treated me today, she will not be in business long. Mimi - professionalism, integrity, word of mouth, & positive reviews keep you in business. I hope you can learn to treat ALL customers, not just those satisfied, with respect & professionalism. Your response to my dissatisfaction was unacceptable. If you'd like some guidance on how to properly run a successful business with exceptional customer service, let me know. I charge by the hour. Do better, my fellow "stylist". DO BETTER.

Mimi was great.. she took me in even in short notice. She was nice and considerate and just a great overall person to talk to and get your hair done. I got box braids and they were perfection.. Nice, small unpretentious hair salon. Mimi's great, friendly and works with you to get you the optimum hair style. Only negative had to wait about 30-40 minutes while Mimi left to attend to an emergency. Would get my hair done there again.
