Worst customer experience ever. I arrived at the store, there is a big sign saying that they only takes reservation now, you have to call either May or Melody for appointment, but if no appointment, you can call as they lived nearby. It was already shaddy the way it operates. After calling, the owner said she will be there in 15 minutes. I waited for her to arrive as she casually causing down with loud music. Just before she arrived, there was another guy arriving simultaneously and she took that guy right away and asked me to wait as she said that guy had an appointment. She should've have the courtesy to let me know that there is another appointment so I didn't have to wait in cold for 15 minutes just to see another guy strolling in and take over the spot as he was a regular. Worst way to operate any business!

Absolutely amazing salon service. I scheduled an appointment with May for the first time ever. Never went to a salon before and was relatively new. May is extremely welcoming and understanding. I got a perm done with a wolf cut styling. I have to say she did a phenomenal job and I’m well impressed with how it turned out. Especially since it’s something new and out of my comfort zone, I’m glad I trusted her to do it. Will definitely come back! Well worth every $.

Very disappointing, May had a terrible attitude. She is very rude.She only cared about her wallet and had no regard for the needs of the customers.she should ashamed of herself. Distorting the truth does not make you stronger. If a business always puts all the blame on the customer when facing criticism and opinions from the customer, you can imagine what kind of business it is. When I was communicating with May about how to do my hair, she was completely unprofessional as a hairdresser. She was very impatient during the whole communication process. She didn't listen to what I was saying at all, but just kept urging me to wash my hair from beginning to end. When I took out the pictures on my phone for her reference, she told me that her time was limited because she had the next customer. I don't know how many customers May has in a day, but she should respect every customer and at least understand the customer's needs before starting the hairdressing. Her rude attitude and tone and impatient expression on her face made me feel super uncomfortable. Then I decided not to do my hair and was about to leave, and she started arguing with me, and then she threatened to call the police. At that time, I had already walked to the door, and I stopped and told her that I would wait for the police to come, because I did nothing wrong and I was not worried about her calling the police. I really wanted the police to come, but she only threatened to call the police and didn't call the police. Then she described me as a "shouting and middle finger-flipping customer" in her store. Which eye did you see me flipping the middle finger in your store? How did the argument between two people turn into my shouting? Please face up to your mistakes, don't always shirk responsibility, and be a conscientious merchant.

I went to this place for a full head perm. May, although seemingly experienced, did not pay attention to some details. The perm resulted in unnatural angles near the hair roots, and some hair was curled incorrectly, leading to frizz. Additionally, my hair quality has deteriorated since the treatment. During the perm, there was an accidental spill of the perm solution on my face. Overall, the experience and the results were not as hoped.

Melody does a great job! I have Asian hair (however I’ve seen her cut a range of hair types) and have been coming to may salon for over 3 years now and won’t trust anyone else for my hair. It’s important to come in with an idea in mind of what you want to have done and to bring in picture(s) so she can have a physical reference of what you like. Melody is super knowledgeable and will share advice that she feels might fit your head shape better because head shape, and hair type can and will affect how your result will look. As long as you keep an open mind you will always leave happy. Not to mention she’s bilingual so if you’re an English or Chinese speaker you are covered!

May definitely knows hair, my hair is fine and limp, I went 2 years without a haircut because I could never find someone to cut it ughhh , let's just say I found my gal!!! She listens and is great to talk to with conversation as well!

Melody is GREAT at what she does, even if some of the reviews mention dissatisfaction or unfriendliness. The truth of the matter is: their decades of experience in cutting hair is very apparent, and they say it like it is, so you can expect an honest and straightforward, but respectful experience. They care about the customer and check for your satisfaction along every step of the way, and explain the steps in detail. Great salon, you won’t regret it!

2 barbers 35$ one: amazing, she will discuss and suggest idea with you, even had advice of using video for example instead of picture 30$ one: no, please no. She had self confidence, but the result is ENTIRELY different from what I showed her. It comes out like a prisoner style hair, I have no idea where this comes from. There’s no next time, not a chance, I won’t come even it’s only 3$ Above are all real experience, if there’s any further confusion at least all the words above are guaranteed happened. 35塊:多付5塊是可以的，他會討論甚至教你怎麼說理髮師會比較好懂，剪出來很成功 30塊:這位自我感覺良好但這次剪出來完全跟提供的360度頭型不同，毫無關聯，剪出來變成像監獄犯的頭型。這個完全不行，3塊我也不會再去。剪完無話可說，理髮師也說修改不了了 以上全是真實經歷，如果有其他疑慮至少以上句句屬實

Choose your barber wisely other wise you’ll get completely DIFFERENT haircuts (0星危險！） This is ridiculous, for the 30$ barber she cut the completely different haircut from the 360 high quality video. The result comes out like a prisoner hairstyle. In the video there’s lot of hair, but she had fully self confidence and removed most of the hair…（負5星） 35$ barber is amazing, the hairstyle I want, even gave suggestions.（5星） NEVER GO BACK FOR 30$, what a scam. I have been going to May Salon for over 3 years now because they are friendly and very accommodating to customers and professional, which makes me feel right at home. Also prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend you to visit and try them.

May and Melody were very nice and efficient. It’s very hard to find someone here in Arizona that can cut and style thick asian hair which me and my partner have. May cut our hair like the pictures we showed her. We will be coming again:)

Melody is our go-to hair stylist. My boys have been regular customers for almost 2 years now. She actively listens to what style we want and also provides helpful feedback. She does haircut with precision and pays attention to detail. This is why we don’t mind driving 40 miles from Glendale to Mesa just to get our haircut at May Salon.

Do not go there. May did a terrible job with Japanese hair straightening. My hair looks super dry and burnt. When I spoke about this, May was rude and told me that your hair was problematic, was very dry, and we hadn’t done anything wrong. She refused to accept that it was her fault. Please do not go there!!!!!

I've been coming to May Salon since 2020 and I always leave more than satisfied with the results. After 10 years of having dreadlocks my hair and scalp were badly damaged and the wonderful ladies at May Salon repaired the condition of my hair and treated my dry, flaky scalp - their combined years of experience lead them to know exactly what to do and I'm so thankful to them for salvaging my hair! Most recently I went in for a color treatment to turn my jet black hair a vibrant blue - I didn't know what to expect since I never tried anything like this before - WOW is all I can say. I'm beyond pleased with the color, the cut, and how soft my hair still feels. As I mentioned before, they know what they're doing and even after a full bleach treatment my hair doesn't look or feel damaged at all. I would definitely recommend this place, especially if you have Asian hair!

Overall the haircut itself was ok, generally speaking. However have to wait 25 minutes for my own appointment. The place is pretty messy meaning you can find hair everywhere, on the table, on the floor and on the chair….. A follow up within the same day: the owner decided to skip all the fact that I mentioned and send me text messages telling me that they are blocking me as a customer. I told them to improve their service but just blacklist customers… maybe start with cleaning hairs on the ground&chair&table where customers had a hard time to step on and comfortably seating.

這輩子第一次遇到理髮師的剪刀是鈍的。也完全沒聽我講的要求，隨心所欲 Never have I ever met a stylist’s scissor is so unsharpened it bended my hair rather than cutting it. Not even to mention she over cut my hair, didn’t listen to a word I said.
