I wanted a pixie cut. I came there with bleach damaged hair, I was repeatedly mocked for bleaching my own hair and they aggressively brushed through my hair and made it worse than it already was. The guy who was cutting my hair even said “I hope you don’t think you’re pretty..”

I have no complaints. I walked in and was immediately greeted. The hairstylist Jess was kind, informative, and gave me one of the best haircuts I’ve ever had. The price is unbeatable I’m recommending to everyone I know.

I recently got a haircut with Sabrina, and I couldn't be happier! I have naturally curly hair, which can be tricky to manage, but Sabrina knew exactly how to work with my curls. She took the time to understand what I wanted and gave me a cut that not only enhances my curls but also makes styling so much easier. Sabrina's attention to detail and her expertise with curly hair really shine through. I left the salon feeling confident and thrilled with my new look. Highly recommend her for anyone with curly hair!

I had a haircut appointment with Carla and she’s simply the best. She’s very kind, patient and knowledgeable and listens very attentively to your concerns and questions. I’m sure everyone at this salon are as amazing. Their prices are also very reasonable.

Literally the worst haircut of my life. Came in for a standard men's haircut, gave the stylist several photos of my previous haircuts and how I wanted it, and she BUTCHERED my hair. 0/5. Also, they just played a sad country radio station the whole time. Dour experience.

Jessica is the best stylist I ever had. She asks questions to make sure I get what I want, but surpasses my ability to describe it. Great experience every time.

As a person with curly hair (that is also gender non conforming) I have always struggled with my hair. I have been seeing Ranjana for the last year+ at Salon CU have LOVED it, she has single handedly refreshed my hair. She took a mess of fried curls into beautiful, shaped, healthy curls I can be proud of! Her “bedside manner” is wonderful. She is incredibly kind, caring and beyond knowledgeable about curls. Ranjana gave me my first gender affirming haircut ever, and every time I see her she makes me feel more comfortable with my curls. I can’t thank Ranjana or recommend her services enough. My hair looks fabulous after my first cut after her move to Mario’s Salon and she’s better than ever!

Came here once as a walk-in and Carla did a fantastic job carefully cutting my hair. Booked an appointment with her a month later and she did an equally excellent job. They’re at least $5-$15 cheaper than any other men’s haircut nearby. Carla listens to exactly what you want and is precise and cautious to do precisely that. Although it’s a salon there seems to be an equal number of men and women who come as clients. The older gentleman who greeted me seemed very friendly as well.

I have been going to Mario’s for 8 years. I won't go anywhere else. Everyone is so kind and always happy to see me. They all pretty much become family. I moved to RI recently, and I STILL come to Mario’s to get my hair done. Hands down, the best place to go in Davis. And affordable!!

I've gotten my hair cut from both Carla and Giuseppe at Mario's and I always leave impressed and pleased. They take their time when cutting my hair and have an accepting environment in the salon. I've been going for the past 3 years.

The best! Been getting my haircut at Mario's for 32 years. Peppi is fabulous! Mario, too. All staff are friendly and welcoming. And the prices are reasonable. My three sons starting going there at a young age, and continue to choose to go to Mario's as adults.

The people are friendly, the hair cut is so so(3/5). The prices are inconsistent, my first cut was 30, second was 35 and third was 40+ They don't even give you a receipt which is skeptical

They do such a great job at a very fair price. After moving to Somerville, I struggled to find a barber shop I liked. Someone suggested Mario’s, and I’ve been going there ever since. Even after moving out of the city, I still commute in for haircuts. It’s totally worth it.

i went in to get my bangs cut, and he was so so kind. i walked out feeling so much better, and he didn’t even let me pay for the service! i’ll definitely be back :)
