I had an amazing experience with Brooke at Maribou Salon on Sutter Street! I got a hair cut and some layers. Brooke did an amazing job and listened to exactly what I explained that I wanted. I wanted to keep my long hair but just cut enough to make it look and feel healthy again, she did exactly that! Brooke was also so personable and made me feel very comfortable, all while paying close attention to detail. I plan to continue to book all my hair care needs with Brooke in the future, thank you for the great experience!

Alex is the best!! I feel so lucky to have found her after moving to the area and in need of a new stylist. I’ve been more than pleased each time she does my hair and believe her to be very well educated, accommodating, personable, and talented. She is professional and has a great personality as well, so I look forward to my appointments and know that I’m in good hands.

Veronica is the best!!! She is sweet, friendly, welcoming, and above all does the MOST INCREDIBLE hair. I get regular hair cuts and bang trims from her every couple months, and once or twice a year I she adds in some little blonde baby lights. She just makes my natural blonde pop so perfectly... it's just subtle but noticeable enough to look sun-kissed. I highly recommend her to everyone!!! Book with her now 💛💛💛

I had an amazing experience at Maribou Salon! Hailey did an incredible job with my haircut and beard trim. She was very polite, thorough, and professional throughout the entire process. Not only did she listen to what I wanted, but she also took the time to make sure everything was perfect. Her friendly personality made the visit even better! Hailey also did a fantastic job dyeing my sister’s hair blonde – it turned out beautiful. We couldn’t be happier with the results! Brooke is fantastic! I work a busy schedule and she's always punctual with text reminders to get my hair cut. And she's fun to talk. Haircuts are always exactly how I pictured. Would recommend!

Believe what you hear about Maribou!!! I didn’t want to wait 2 more months to get into the salon I usually go to, so found Maribou to be convenient with online and quick scheduling. I scheduled a lightening and haircut with Veronica online 2 weeks in advance. I was excited because she specializes in blondes, and I am looking to go from brunette to blonde. I got to Maribou 10 mins early, and 5 minutes after my scheduled appointment, the manager came out and sat next to me. She said that Veronica had a family emergency, so she sent her home. She told me that she has someone else, Paige, that can “talk to me and see what we can do today”. I am bummed about not seeing Veronica, but totally get that life happens. So, Paige sits me down in a chair and we begin discussing my hair goals and what I am hoping to achieve during my appointment. She lets me know what I could expect out of my first appointment, to which I respond, “you mean today?” and she says “no, you have an appointment today?” and I reply yes, and she said she thought this was just supposed to be a consult. I reply no, this is a whole appointment, I took work off and everything. She immediately lets me know she can’t do my hair today because she has another client. I am confused and say there must have been a miscommunication from her manager. She says she is going to check OTHER locations to see if anyone can get me in (after I already drive 30 minutes to Folsom for my original appointment? Ok lol) and says she is going to talk to her manager to see what they can do. When she returns, she says there is no one at the other locations that she “trusts” to take me, but that she can reschedule me for next week! I explain no, I literally took work off for this and to top it off my Birthday is this weekend, and I just don’t understand why no one called me in the first place to tell me Veronica was out before I came all the way down here. She tells me she can do a partial highlight but that its not what I wanted, so I tell her no that would be a waste of time and money. Paige apologized and I let her know I know it is not her fault and that there was a miscommunication. I appreciate her trying to make something work. I asked to speak to the manager again since she hadn’t come out since first telling me she sent Veronica home. The manager then comes out apologizing, I say I know life happens but I am wondering why I wasn’t called and told this? She tells me that Veronica came into the salon and went to the bathroom, got a phone call that her boyfriend had been in a car accident, and she was in no condition to work so she sent her home. I did not ask for this information and it just felt like she was piling things on, frankly that’s none of my business. I found it strange that the manager would continue to divulge personal information freely. They offered to rebook me and comp my haircut, but I declined. Again, believe EVERYTHING you hear about Maribou…its terrible! There’s a reason why the stylists have so much availability – lesson learned: wait the 2 months to see your regular stylist.

Brooke has been doing my hair at the Sutter street location for a while. She does a great cut, and in the past has done wonderful lowlights for me. My hair is naturally white and this year I decided I wanted an all over color. Brooke has done a great job working with me to get the perfect color that looks natural and grows out naturally between touch ups. Highly recommend Brooke and this location.

First time at this salon and to start, it is adorable! Hannah Underwood was my stylist and she exceeded my expectations. She listened to what I wanted but also gave her opinion when I needed it and couldn’t decide one way or the other! Very happy with how I left the salon.

My and my girlfriend have both been to Maribou in the last few weeks and had Brooke as our stylist! We both had amazing experiences! Brooke recommended such great products from their RedKen line. I usually come in undecided about what I want to do with my hair and she always helps me figure it out! This time we cut my hair shorter and did a partial highlight and I am OBSESSED! I can’t wait for my next visit with Brooke!

Sarah always does such an amazing job blonding my hair! The grow out is super natural so I can go longer between appointments. I also love how subtlety she cuts my hair so that it looks healthy without losing too much length! Definitely recommend this salon & stylist

Sarah at Maribou's Sutter Street location is an absolute dream to work with! I love that she takes time at the beginning of my appointments to discuss what I envision. She really cares about keeping my hair healthy and is always encouraging me to do what is best for my hair long term. She's also a master at the lived-in, beachy blonde!

Absolutely beautiful salon! MacKenzie is sweet, professional, and kind. She made sure I was comfortable throughout my entire visit and answered all my questions. I really appreciate that MacKenzie took her time and didn’t rush the consultation or the appointment. As a plus, MacKenzie gives the best washes and scalp massages!!

I go to Veronica and MacKenzie, they are both INCREDIBLE! I actually live in Reno and make the 4 hour round trip because I can’t trust anyone else to do as good as they do. I’m the blondest and most confident I’ve ever been because of them!! MacKenzie is so sweet and talented, I saw her today and she blew me away, and constantly exceeds my expectations. Whether I’m in Nevada or California, I will never go to any salon that isn’t Maribou on Sutter 🫶🏻🩷 Edit: I go for blonding full/partial highlight every 8 weeks!

I had my hair cut by Dan and he is a meticulous, master stylist. He gave me of the best haircuts I've ever had. Absolutely beautiful. He made me look better than when I walked in. If you want a precise haircut done to perfection, Dan can do it. You will have gorgeous hair.

I recently visited this salon with high expectations, considering its reputation as a top-tier establishment. While I appreciate the stylist's honesty in admitting a lack of knowledge about cutting curly hair, it's disheartening that in 2023, a salon of this caliber lacks fundamental expertise in catering to all hair types. It's essential for all stylists, regardless of the salon's clientele, to have basic knowledge about curly hair, as people of all races and ethnicities have diverse hair textures. In an era where inclusivity and understanding of various hair types are paramount, I believe there's no excuse for such a prominent salon to fall short in this aspect of their services. Today, I walked out with a supremely basic trim, which dod not even include the front pieces of my hair and had to pay $50. Tomorrow and going forward, I hope this salon does better.

I saw @Alex_paints_hair for the first time and received multiple compliments on my hair for a week. She had cut and styled it in such a way that people even thought i’d colored it, as my hair was healthier and no longer frizzy, so it caught the light and showed off the balayage i’d already had. I so appreciated the time she took and patience she demonstrated as she actively listened to my concerns and goals. Now my hair looks good no matter how it is styled because she actually listened to my life style and patterns and adjusted the cut to meet my needs. I’ll definitely only be seeing her, now. I got a haircut from Dan today and he is indeed the man. To my fellow bros, this is why you tell supercuts to kick rocks and go to a legit salon. Dan took his time, had excellent attention to detail, helpful suggestions, and stuck the landing with the end result. This man knows hair science. You can trust him with yours.

I have a very hard time trusting people touching my platinum blonde hair but Donna always takes my anxieties away by communicating with me, making me feel comfortable, and being extra attentive to my hair. When I left the salon it was the softest and healthiest it had felt in years! She is a pro at doing blondes but is awesome at everything else I could possibly want too. 10/10 only person I'm letting do my hair from now on

Made an appointment here with in the same 24hrs of I having a learning experience with dying my hair at home and Mallory saved me! She did such an amazing job fixed what I messed up and was so thoughtful delicate with my hair after what I had just put it through(box dye/ then color oops).

My fiancé went in and saw kat and she did a shaggy hair style on her. She has had bad experiences with salons and Kat made her feel comfortable asked her if she wanted more cut after she Finished trimming and honestly did everything right. Thank you Kat ! She’ll be coming back !
