Amber always does a terrific job with my haircut, style and color. She listened carefully to what I wanted, asked questions to confirm, and matched the exact color I wanted. She's patient and experienced and works quickly but thoroughly and effectively. I wish my hair looked like she does it every day. 100% recommend!

a nice enough salon, but my haircut was just weird, and I will not be back. I just wanted a bob with piecey layers, but then when she was ‘done,’ for some reason the hair on the sides of my head were left long?? it looked like dog ears. I asked her to please cut those to match the rest of my hair, a request that she seemed confused by. I was also confused, because how could she think that the cut she had done was good how it was…? she did cut the longer pieces, but it was still completely uneven and looked terrible. At some point though, I had to say “good enough!” and call it quits, because it was obviously not going to end up how I wanted it. I have had better haircuts for $17 at Fantastic Sam’s.

First off I want to say how much I LOVE Aveda products. They are hands down the best and the reason that I choose to give Malstrom salon a try! Second I want to say how wonderful Addi is! I went in yesterday for a much needed cut and partial highlights. Addi spent alot of time on the consultation and really understood what I wanted. I walked away with healthier hair with no split ends and my greys were finally blended in! I’ll definitely be back in to see Addi! Thank you

Marissa did a great job with my hair, but the pricing on their website is COMPLETELY inaccurate. be prepared to pay $100+ more than what the website says. i was told a partial highlight and a cut would be $155 on the website and when i went up to pay, it was $255. i was told that a $60 tone was “normal” for blondes and i should’ve expected that. i was also told that Marissa charges more for highlights, but online it said $95 next to her name. website needs to be updated, would not have chosen this place if i knew it would be $100 more than what it said online. other reviews seem to be saying similar things.

I have been going to Mälstrom since August of 2023. Kayla has been cutting and coloring my hair for almost a year and her work is exceptional! I would highly recommend her if you are wanting your hair colored, styled, cut, or wanting a new change!

I used to go to Malstrom, but they were very unprofessional when any of their stylist decided to leave. The place is extremely dirty, and the bathroom baseboard and floor have not been washed in years. It’s very cluttered and all of the hairstylist dress Unprofessionally. I would not recommend this salon.

Mälstrom Salon is one of the greatest hair salons I’ve ever been to. They’re so accommodating and professional. Izzy has done my hair a few times and has done incredible every time. I appreciate her attention to detail and the consultation to make sure i get exactly what I want. They also recently redid their bathrooms and they are BEAUTIFUL! Thank you to all the stylists there that make you feel so comfortable and hype you up!

Alissa was great! I have naturally really dark hair plus I had some black box dye on my hair. I wanted to do a belayage and go lighter. She did an amazing job. The highlights blend so well. I love it!

I’ve been here before and loved it but I recently took my sister here to get her hair colored and checked online and saw that it was $125. She was then told that it’s actually up to $300 to get most of her hair dyed. I just really wish it said this on the website that it could be up to $300 because I wasn’t prepared to pay that much.

Update 3/30- owner called this morning, and was extremely apologetic about the situation and heard me. But every time owner calls to clients and staff does not care about brand image, staff also should be accountable for the client experience. To implement this, Owner should introduce a feedback form that should be discreet and only owner can read service experience. In addition, salon should provide a voucher so that disgruntled clients atleast would come in to use the voucher and salon can utilize this opportunity to retain those clients and improve brand image. Original review - 3/29 I have to give one star because there is no less available. Extremely unprofessional staff. I came in for hair color consultation, some weeks ago with Amber. But during my consultation I didn’t felt comfortable with some of her comments, but I ignored those and confirmed the appointment for hair color.As soon as I walked downstairs I had a question to ask and I went upstairs. She refused to answer my query even for a minute- right after appointment was booked. I was not convinced thereafter and then I cancelled my appointment. I found another stylist Merissa and contacted her via instagram. She confirmed consultation for 3/29 @5:30 for which I have saved chat as well so that they cannot refuse, I just wanted to confirm once again if she is in salon so I called at salon. I was surprised when desk person told me that she can’t take me because she took someone else and there is no appointment for me. Just to make sure I visit the appointment , I didnot go anywhere on my weekend and because of her I had to cancel many other things. Not just that, the staff is arrogant enough to not to apologize as if it’s only one salon in the whole city. I asked them to have my call forward to the owner which they refused because the staff thinks that they are owner and can decide whatever they want.on behalf of owner. Both times I felt the smell of racism. Now, to secure their time they have the card details so that if client doesnot show up they deduct money from card. In my situation, they refused my appointment at the last minute, will they pay me for my time????

Fantastic Hair Salon Experience for My Daughter's First haircut. I recently took my daughter to Malstrom Salon, and as always, they did an incredible job! From the moment we walked in, the staff was warm and welcoming, making my daughter feel comfortable and at ease. The hairstylist (Chris) showed great skill and attention to detail throughout the entire process. He listened carefully to what my wife wanted for my daughter's hair cut to be and executed it flawlessly. The end result was beyond our expectations - her hair looked stunning and received compliments from everyone! I'm always impressed with the salon's consistent level of excellence and professionalism. The cleanliness and hygiene standards were top-notch, and the overall ambiance made for a pleasant and relaxing experience. I highly recommend Malstrom Salon to anyone looking for a hair salon that consistently delivers amazing results. I have lived down the street from this salon for almost two years now and decided spur of the moment to call and get a haircut! Aubrie was my stylist and she was amazing. I wanted to cut my hair shorter than I have ever had it and she made me feel so good about it and the final result is spectacular. The saline has great energy and everyone was so kind. Plus they use Aveda products which are the best! Definitely going to be back here more regularly!

I normally don’t write reviews but I have never been so frustrated after getting my hair done. First off the pricing is so non-transparent they make it seem like it is gonna be a decent deal and then it is $400 when you check out. I have never had to pay for extra for toner/color before. But then my hair wasn’t done correctly. I wasn’t gonna name the stylist but after reading the reviews it seems to be a common theme that Marissa doesn’t know how to color brunettes properly. I asked for a balayage and got basically the whole underside of my head died blonde with my dark roots showing. But when my hair was down it only looked a like a little bit of blonde in the front. I went back in to try to get it fixed, which they promised would be no extra charge, and Marissa made me feel Iike she didn’t understand what I was saying. I tried explaining I wanted more of a balayage and she kept saying that is what I got. I showed more pictures and explained multiple ways and she still ended up turning it on me saying I must not like the contrast. And that if I styled my hair differently it would look more like the original picture I showed her. After about 20 minutes of repeating myself she came up with an idea to fix it but it was gonna be $80 more! So instead she toned it down and now I am $400 out with basically my natural hair color again and a few pieces of blonde in the front. Worst experience and just so uncomfortable and unprofessional. I would highly not recommend going here.

Tricia is amazing. I have gotten my hair colored and highlighted for years from her, each and every time with the same, beautiful results. I get compliments on the color frequently and am alway happy to refer them to her. She is kind, easy to communicate with and willing to adjust as needed. When I get in Utah, I looked for a place where can use Aveda to touch my roof. I have found here. I loved. The hairdresser are so good! I always want to make my hair with Lizzie! She is great! I recommend to all my friends to come and make hair here! They are so professional!! ❤️

Worst salon hands down! I asked for two inches off and got seven instead. The worst part was the horrible choppy cut. Asked for a refund and didn’t get a response ever.
