M2 Salon is hands down the go-to place for a great haircut, and Michael is simply fantastic! He’s skilled, detail-oriented, and really listens to what you want. Every time I visit, I walk out feeling fresh and confident with a haircut that’s exactly what I envisioned. Michael’s professionalism and friendly personality make the experience even better. He takes the time to ensure everything is perfect, from the fade to the finishing touches. The salon itself is clean, modern, and welcoming, making it a comfortable place to relax while getting a top-notch cut. If you’re looking for a reliable barber who delivers great results every time, I can’t recommend Michael at M2 Salon enough. Definitely a five-star experience!

This is one of the best salons i’ve been to in a while for a woman’s haircut. I’ve gone to Edison twice and he does a phenomenal job!!! I’m not too picky with how I like my cuts, I usually get long layers with curtain bangs or flowy front sieves. I give minimal direction and I always end up loving my hair. He really takes his time and pays close attention to detail. Overall, I think the stylists know how to work with Asian hair the best because they are a Chinese salon. It will be a bit difficult to communicate if you’re not Chinese-speaking… I’ve seen other reviews where they mention that they’re not the best with on-time appointments and I will say that I have experienced that the past few times I went as well. Also I wish they used conditioner during the hair wash because my hair gets really dry without it.

I’ve been cutting my hair with Michael for the past 8 years (back when they were located in Oakland Chinatown) I was so happy when I heard from him that they’re opening up M2 salon in San Leandro! It’s super nice and clean. Michael is a fabulous hairstylist. He listens and actually understands what I want. All I needed to do is show him what I want and I get what I asked for. Recommended him to all my friends for cut and dye, all experienced the same vibe and quality as I did. Michael is the only hairstylist that I trust and will only come to him.

I had a deeply disappointing experience at M2 Salon, and I feel compelled to share my dissatisfaction. I made an appointment for a haircut at 4 PM, arriving promptly at 3:55 PM after taking time off work to ensure I was on time. Upon arrival, I noticed another customer waiting, which is perfectly fine, but what followed was utterly unacceptable. Despite my timely arrival, I was left sitting there for over an hour without any communication from the staff. The salon workers, who spoke little to no English, did not acknowledge me or explain the delay. Instead, when a stylist became available, they attended to the other customer who had arrived before me, which I understand, but again, no one informed me of what was going on or how long I would have to wait. It wasn’t until 5 PM—an entire hour past my scheduled appointment—that someone finally attended to me. By this time, I was frustrated and had already contacted my wife to voice my concerns. She had to intervene and complain to the owners on my behalf, which should not have been necessary. The lack of communication and customer care was shocking. What made matters worse was the owner's response. Rather than apologizing for the inconvenience, the wife of the main stylist (who is also a part-owner) accused me of lying about my appointment time, insisting it was at 5 PM. She wasn't even present at the salon, yet she felt entitled to dismiss my complaint and make excuses. This was incredibly unprofessional and insulting. I have since read other reviews and noticed a pattern of similar treatment toward non-Mandarin and non-Cantonese-speaking customers. It seems this salon does not prioritize the needs of all its clients, which is unacceptable in any service industry. I will not be returning to M2 Salon, and I strongly advise others to think twice before booking an appointment here—especially if you don't speak the primary languages of the staff. Customer service should be a priority, and unfortunately, it seems this salon has a long way to go in that regard.

I recently got a haircut, and I really liked the experience. My hairstylist, Michael, took the time to understand exactly what I wanted and provided thoughtful advice that suited my hair. He was very patient and careful during the haircut. I’ll definitely be going back again!

I’m beyond disappointed with this business as I booked a cut and style for my birthday dinner. I get a call 20 minutes before my appointment and they’re asking where I am because whoever answered the phone put down 5PM not 5:45PM which is insane as I am off of work at 5 I would have never agreed to that time. I was eager to get my hair done for my birthday dinner but that plan was ruined. If you book here have them repeat your day and time 5 times!!!!

My new hair stylist Eason has his chops down. Knows his clippers and scissors. I know he's good because not only does the haircut look good but I can go an extra week + beyond normal and it doesn't look like an overgrown weed patch. He's a pro

I’m so glad I found this salon, it truly is a hidden gem. When I first walked in, it felt very bright and clean with very nice modern decor. Everyone there is so friendly and attentive. They even serve you coffee/tea while you wait. I had my hair colored and cut there twice now. Each time I was very pleased with how it turned out. I have referred a few friends and family there, they were all very happy with the results. As a matter of fact, my son who is 5 and my picky husband now goes there for haircuts.

I made an appointment but when I arrived on time, the place was closed, they opened it 10 mins later after the opening hours and no one knew about my appointment. They started working on my hair 20 mins later of the appointment time. None of them speak English. It was hard to talk to them. Regarding the service itself, they dyed my hair in the wrong color. I had to point to the color on the color book since they didn’t really speak English and I could discuss with them what I want. The color was clearly caramel/brown but I got burgundy/redish color. Also for some reason he cut my front hair at a baby hair length which I didn’t ask and it kept getting into my eyes until it grew out.

They are too expensive on top of they did not give my niece the highlights that she asked for and the cut was horrible. They did not tell her the price before hand and after horrible service they charged her 380. She was so hurt because that was her first check from her first job.

Well organized Salon,and the stylists are very passionate and professional. They listened to what I want and gave me a pertinent suggestion! My final decision was Balayage, and I was satisfied with the outcome! I highly recommend M2 Salon! You’re the best!
