Literally the best salon experience I’ve had in SLC!!! If you’re looking to get a shullet (shag+mullet), Brooklyn is a pro!! I have thick wavy curls and am usually really nervous about having others work with my hair texture, but they got it right 🥹 I would give more stars if I could!

Our non-binary kiddo needed a haircut and our regular stylist wasn’t able to fit them in. We found Lucero and decided to give it a try. Brooklyn gave our kiddo the best haircut and we recently went back for another. Brooklyn is amazing. We definitely recommend Brooklyn and Lucero Salon.

Brooklyn is such a fantastic hair stylist! I’ve gone to them for two appointments now and each time I leave feeling more myself. They always know what to do, especially when I’m unsure what an exact style I’m looking for is. They are super friendly and walk you through each step to make sure you’re comfortable. The salon is so comforting too, and really just a great space!

I absolutely love Lucero Hair and Wellness. I walk in and feel like family. The space is inclusive, comfy and so cute. I’m not the best at describing what I want to look like - more at how I want to feel when I leave - and they never miss the mark. I’ve done natural curly cuts and blowouts without any problems. And I love their upfront pricing model so I don’t feel anxious or like I’m missing the mark with tipping. I won’t go anywhere else.

I love this place. I go to Ryan and he's incredible. I have curly hair and he gets it. He listens to what I want and works with me to get it. Not an easy thing to find, especially in such a nice place with reasonable pricing.

I really enjoyed visiting Lucero Hair and Wellness. The entire process was easy, from scheduling my appointment to paying for my service. I appreciated the reminder text messages and the information about where to park and how to check in. Ryan did my hair and did a great job! I was unsure exactly what I wanted, so he took the time to talk about options. He asked me several questions and we looked at photos together to make sure we were on the same page before he began working on my cut. I felt welcome and very comfortable throughout my visit. I'm looking forward to scheduling my next appointment.

Lexi is a fantastic and talented hair stylist! I have gotten my hair cut by her three times and continue to be impressed by her skills! I chose this salon because I heard about the welcoming environment and as someone who has been dealing with hair loss, I was terrified of having anyone touch my hair and truly see it for what it was. Lexi was understanding of my situation and did a wonderful job at making my hair look not just presentable, but stylish! As I have continued to treat my hair loss, I have continued to trust Lexi to cut my hair. Every time I leave her chair I get a big confidence boost! Thank you Lexi and the Lucero staff for creating such a welcoming environment!

As a young trans person finding hair salons is really hard and Lucero is absolutely perfect. Lucero has an amazing environment with stylists who work so hard to make sure you feel confident. I would recommend Lucero to all trans youth who want a safe, positive environment where they don't have to worry about how they are perceived.

I have been looking forward a good hair salon for YEARS!!! Finally I got recommended to Lucero Hair by a friend and I will never be going anywhere else!! Everyone I interacted with the day of my appointment was so incredibly kind and understanding!! I adore my haircut, Ryan was so incredibly understanding and gave me exactly what I wanted! He was so kind and accepting, I felt like he made sure that we were completely on the same page with my haircut! He’s very easy to talk too and I didn’t feel that typical awkwardness when you first meet someone. Ryan was very kind and gentle, I felt very comfortable trusting him with my curly/wavy hair! I’m looking forward to my next appointment with him!!

I'm really happy to have had Ryan work on my hair! He is very knowledgeable and I learned a lot as he cut and styled my hair (which is fine, and naturally a bit wavy or mildly curly). I'm looking forward to trying some of the styling methods he showed me. We talked at the beginning about what we were thinking and he made me look just like actress in the picture I showed. I couldn't ask for anything better! I went with an extra long session as it was my first time coming here. I was able to find street parking on the north side. I scheduled ahead by calling, since it was my first time going here but you can schedule online. An employee (don't remember who) kindly checked me in, and there was another option to do it online. Gregory was good to follow-up with me afterwards if I had questions. I'm glad I went to Lucero!

Brooklyn did such an amazing job of transforming my hair! They made sure I was heard and walked me through the process of everything. The rest of the staff were also very lovely and welcoming. If you’re looking for a new stylist Brooklyn would be my recommendation.

I love this space so much!! The vibe is so wonderful. So welcoming, very clean. The stylus are very well educated and as a whole salon I've seen them value and focus on continued education which in turn is so great for us, as clients because we know that our stylists continue to work on their technique and keep up with trends. In February it will be one year since I've been going continuously keeping my hair short every 6 to 8 weeks. I always leave there feeling so happy and well cared for by Ryan! I've even taken my daughter in and they were so good about giving her exactly what she wanted and listening to her style request. I'm very impressed by this local business because they do so much for the community as well. I've had the privilege to attend an event before and it's just incredible I recommend this place to everyone!

Three members of our family have had Ryan as a stylist and we love him. He listens to what you want, gives great advice according to your hair texture and is so fun and easy to talk to. He was wonderful with my wavy hair that has different curl patterns.

I've been getting my hair cut and styled by Brooklyn for a while. I've thoroughly enjoyed every visit. I feel heard about the wants and questions I have regarding my hair. The studio is cozy and welcoming. Every employee I've interacted with is very friendly. I highly suggest going to Lucero, especially for LGBTQIA+ folx.
