Ashley the owner was working on 4 other people at the same time as my service. I’m fine with that as long as the finished product turns out right. Her assistant did some of the work too and must have used a different ratio of bleach on my hair. It looked like three different people worked on my head & I left with orange hair after 4 hours in the chair and over $400 spent. This was certainly one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a salon. I do NOT recommend!!!!

Ashley (owner) of Harper James Salon is truly a master of blonde coloring. I have a lived in blonde balayage that I brighten in the spring/summer and she nails it every. Single. Time. The salon itself is gorgeous & is a nice little escape - love zenning out in Ashley’s chair and leaving with beautiful locks!

I highly recommend Mackenzie! Since the first time she cut and colored my hair, I haven't gone to anyone else. She's attentive to detail and takes the time to listen to you and talk you through the process. She's very knowledgable about hair care and coloring and you can tell she's genuinely passionate about her clients. I've always loved my hair after an appointment with Mackenzie, and I get so many compliments on my color! She's also lovely to chat with.

I recently moved back to Nashville from south Florida and was so nervous about finding the right salon! My first step is usually to scroll through Instagram where I look at different salons then find someone within that salon who appears to work on a lot of blondes and has photos of their work. I came across Harper James, which is less than 10 minutes from my house, and I FELL IN LOVE! I have been going there for seven months now and all of the staff are so welcoming! Ashley and Avery have both touched this head of hair and not only are they both so good at what they do, they are also incredibly kind people! Avery, who usually does my hair color and extensions, is extremely thorough, down to earth, and always fun to chat with. I look forward to my hair appointments as I never worry about the outcome, and it is also a much-needed break from my hectic work week! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I’ve been going to Mackenzie for a year now, and she is a master of her craft! She’s excellent with her conversations, and product knowledge, but her skills with blondes in particular, surpass other stylists I’ve had in the past. She genuinely cares for the health of your hair, which with blonde maintenance is hard to find these days. I highly recommend her! Also, the salon is always jamming out the best playlists.

Not super thrilled about my experience with this salon. I recently moved to Nashville and needed to find a salon for my extensions. I had booked with Avery, but ended up seeing the owner, Ashley, as Avery had an injury my first time. Fast forward to my last appointment, I finally get to book with Avery as she has returned. Mind you, we have never met. On the day of our appt. She seemed super annoyed the second I walked in the door. My appt. was at 8am, so I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt since it was early and I was her first client of the day. She didn’t really introduce herself to me or really ask about me. Which whatever, but for us NEVER meeting… it felt very weird. She seemed super annoyed and “rushed” my entire appointment. I felt like a burden and super uncomfortable. I got very mean girl vibes from her. It honestly left a very sour taste in my mouth as I’m literally giving her my business and she seemed to care less. I have given my business to another salon as I feel very disrespected as a customer. I wish this salon could have worked out better as it was super close to my house.

I wish I could give Mackenzie more than 5 stars! She really is knowledgeable in blondes and goes above and beyond to protect your hair. I came to her with yellow damaged hair and within one appointment she worked her magic and saved my hair. She took the time that was needed and didn't rush through the appointment to get to her next client. She has an easy going personality and never makes you feel uncomfortable. She really listens to what you want and not afraid to ask questions so you're both on the same page. After the service she helps come up a treatment plan in between appointments. If you thought she was knowledgeable in blondes...she's also knowledgeable in EXTENSIONS! Like I said I wish I could give her more than 5 stars. I drive 2hrs to see her.

Booked a partial highlight and haircut with the owner Ashley Manter. I have had a few bad experiences trying to find a blonde specialist in Nashville since moving here this fall and am so happy I found Ashley! When I first called to potentially make an appointment I was able to speak to her personally. She answered my questions and made me feel like she was the person for the job! Ashley did a great job listening to what I like and dislike and also set realistic expectations! The color and cut turned out great! You can really see the attention to detail!!!!! It’s hard to find someone that really knows what they are doing and cares about the integrity of your hair! Cool salon vibe and very fair prices! Would recommend!

I moved to Nashville about 1.5 years ago now and I have been coming to Harper James ever since. I love the vibe and overall experience of the salon. My amazing stylist, Mackenzie Connolly, really knows my hair and does a fabulous job every time! She is also extremely knowledgeable and has helped me curate my at home routine to help keep my hair healthy and happy in between visits.

everything was going well until ashely put her apprentice to work on my hair she left the foil in my hair for more minutes than it was what she did is when they were drying my hair i got a lot of hair and at the beginning of my head it was horrible she left me the cut I'm very upset because when I want to do something to my hair they look horrible because my hair looks cut, the other times she didn't put her hands in my hair she didn't cut like this time Very bad service.

GO TO KAILYN FITZGERELD! I have never loved how my hair turned out until I sat in her salon chair. My blonde looks amazing and I have gotten so many complements already! Not to mention she was the sweetest ever. She went over what my hair goals are, and how that will look when we see each other each time I go back, what maintenance will look like for me, she also had a good eye for what kind of color and toning would look best with my skin tone and eye color. Very professional and I felt more than comfortable in her seat. The salon is very clean and the design is beautiful, HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!!! I've been seeing the owner, Ashley Manter, for more than a year now and have LOVED every experience with her. She nails my blonde and extensions every time, and my hair has gotten so much healthier since I've been seeing her. When I first moved to Nashville from Chicago I had a hard time finding a blonde specialist that really understood what I wanted - and I am SO happy I landed in Ashley's chair. Mackenzie is the best stylist in Nashville, TN. I've been going to her for blonde highlights for three years and now I also go to her for hand-tied extensions. She's a master at blending my hair into the extensions for a seamless, perfect look while maintaining the brilliance and health of my blonde hair. I can't recommend her enough! The salon itself is very cute, clean, and in a convenient location for anyone in the greater Nashville area.

Mackenzie is the best stylist/colorist I’ve ever had. Not only does she truly listen to my wants but she gives honest feedback based on my hair type. No matter what my goals are for my hair she’s always willing to come up with a plan to get me there. It’s just a cherry on top that she’s hilarious and easy to talk to! I highly recommend her as a stylist/colorist ESPECIALLY if you’re blonde.
