I went to this salon for a hair straightening treatment, hoping to have sleek, straight hair that would last throughout my vacation in Cancun. My stylist assured me that it would stay straight for about few weeks if not months even though my hair is naturally straight—not curly. I ended up paying $550, and while my hair looked great the first day, by the second day, it was back to its normal, natural state. I basically paid $550for one day of straight hair, which I could’ve easily achieved with a regular flat iron. I also have no idea what chemicals they used, so I’m left wondering what exactly I paid for. Don’t waste your money at this salon—it feels like a total scam.

Lien is my absolute favorite hairstylist, she’s been doing my hair for over ten years. I have never been disappointed! Hair Lab is a beautiful salon with amazing stylists. If you’re looking for a new stylist, I highly recommend Hair Lab. You will not be disappointed!

I came back to see Lien once I moved back to Utah. She is amazing! I have long, difficult to color Asian hair and she is the only person in Utah that can get me blond yet still maintaining the health of my hair. Thanks Lien!!

Update: I’m so obsessed with this place. I came from California and they were able to squeeze me in on a Sunday. Thida and Lien worked on my hair and the result was beyond my expectations. I came in with brassy tangled matted hair and out healthy shiny hair. Love it so much! My husband even asked when he saw me “ who is this beautiful girl.” 😅 Tuan and Thida are absolutely amazing. I’m Asian and it’s really difficult to get to a light blonde with my hair but somehow they transformed my “Lion King” orange hair into a blonde without killing it. They spent so much time and treated me and my hair with so much patience and care.

I made the mistake of getting talked into going to another hairstylist twice! My hair was dry and brittle, and the cut was way off. I felt like I was going to lose all of my beautiful hair! The process started with a shampoo and Kerastase treatment that transformed my hair, followed by a cut and blowdry, which was already perfect, but Tuan finished it with more blending, and the result made me feel brand-new! Tuan also advised me on hair management and a line of products to use. I'll go back to him for added highlighting which needs some tweaking as well, I have every confidence that I'll have the hairstyle and color that I want :) I'm so grateful to have found Hairlab again!

I wanted to have a new style & didn't know what was best for my wavey curly thick hair & Jasmine (she really is a professional artist) & truly cares & knows what best for you! She has layered my hair, & showed me what styles I can do with it. I can't thank you for enough for fixing my image & beauty. Looking forward for her to color my hair! This is the best hair salon in Salt Lake. Twan is a miracle worker who turns your hair into a masterpiece. The staff are so sweet and always welcomes me when I walk through the door.
