Just finished our first haircut for our 17 month old son and I cannot say enough great things!!! Heather was friendly, patient, and did such a great job. Perfect environment and we can't wait to go back for all of his hair cuts in the future.

Absolutely love Heather. We went to her first for our son’s first haircut. We’ve been there twice after and my son is actually looking forward to his haircuts now and not frantically crying. My husband and I also go to her now and she does exactly what we ask. No fuss, no unnecessary costs.

Heather did an amazing job giving my baby boy (7m) his first haircut. She was quick and did the style exactly how we wanted. Additionally, she was very accommodating and put in Miss Rachel for my boy to watch! I highly highly recommend her!

Our experience with Heather was truly wonderful! My kiddo usually has a really difficult time with haircuts…crying, kicking, screaming and impossible to hold down. Heather’s space was completely catered to all kiddos, but especially those who easily get overwhelmed. For the most part, my 3.5 yo son was able to stay put the whole time. However, whenever he would get scared, Heather was awesome at putting him at ease with her calm energy. I still can’t believe he was able to get a haircut without tears and trauma. Heather allowed BOTH of us to have the best experience!! I highly recommend!!

We had the BEST experience with Heather. It was my son’s first haircut at 16 months and he was so happy throughout the experience. I wasn’t sure how he would react because he doesn’t like other people touching his hair but she entertained him with the car, Miss Rachel, lollipop, puzzles. I highly recommend her ! Haircut took 15-20 min but the time flew by. We will be going back for every future hair cut.

This was our first time at Heather’s. We were referred by a friend who had been really happy with her child’s last few haircuts. We will definitely be coming back! Heather is lovely and the first hairstylist to actually explain how to avoid the cowlick crazies. :)

Heather did a great job! My little one got a fade haircut; fading is challenging when a kid wiggles and squirms. But because of Heather's skill and energy, my little one stayed calm and got a fantastic fade haircut.

My son is nonverbal and has sensory issues. We drove over an hour and a half to come see her and it was well worth a drive. I see why she was recommended by so many. Her salon is cute and perfect. He loved the red car- he sat still and she is incredibly patient. Normally, my son made brushing his hair or washing his hair kind of difficult so we weren’t sure how he would do with his first haircut. I will be recommending her to absolutely anybody who has a kiddo with sensory issues.

We love that you can make an appointment and limit wait time for small (impatient) kids. The salon is single suite so it lacks the distractions and noise of a larger salon. Heather is fantastic with little ones and really gets a good cut even if they won't sit still or are afraid of the experience. I would definitely recommend seeing her for your children's haircut needs.

I took my 11-month old to Heather for his first haircut. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish, she was great with him and got him to stay still for the entire cut (which turned out amazing btw)!! We will definitely be coming back to visit Heather and her cute little Ferrari seat 😃

Took my 2.5 yr old. He had been 50% success rate on haircuts. Heather was fantastic and her setup worked perfectly for my son. We were in and out well within the 20 minute timeframe. Currently 1 for 1 with heather lol. Definitely give her a try!

Heather is amazing! My autistic 4 year old hates haircuts. It’s a complete sensory overload for him. Heather was patient and kind and also gave him the best haircut he’s ever had! We will never go anywhere else again!

Heather is so great with toddler haircuts. The kids love the car chair. And months later they still talk about the balloon they got at their appts! She does well with tight curly texture hair too. She will continue to cut all my children’s hair.

I was on the hunt for a great hairdresser, and Haircut Heather did not disappoint. My youngest son has autism and doesn't do well with haircuts and he leaves each time so upset. But this time we left with no tears. It's a cute place with a separate room which helped us, because often my son will try and take off. Instead of having him sit down she allowed him to explore her room as she cut his hair. She was incredibly patient, and understanding. My son didn't cry once, and usually it's very stressful for him and me. My oldest son also got his haircut as well. And he was very happy with his cut too. I can't say enough about how wonderful everything is at this family salon. We definitely have found our new hairdresser and we won't go anywhere else now. Thanks again Ms Heather! You are AMAZING! 🤩

This is my son's 3rd haircut in his life, but first cut with Ms. Heather. We will definitely be coming back, the cut is perfect but more than that she was so patient, kind, and professional. 10/10!

I have taken my son to Heather multiple times now and she’s fantastic. My son is shy and sensitive to noises and people touching his hair and he loves Ms. Heather and her space! It’s a private space she utilizes so it’s less noisy than typical hair salons and he can watch her TV while he gets his hair cut. Heather is very nice and makes it a great experience for the kiddos! I highly recommend!

Haircut Heather is awesome! She's warm, friendly, and great with the kids. I regularly get my own haircut as well when I bring my kids. Her prices are great and she runs promotions throughout the year. She clearly loves what she does and cares about the children she works with.

I got a great haircut here. I have fine hair that can stick straight out in a lot of places if it’s not carefully cut. Heather listened and really does a great job and she charged a fair price.

I have boy/girl twins who are 10. My son has very difficult hair to cut. He has multiple cowlicks and it’s very thick and straight, showing every scissor cut if not done right. I cannot count how many bad haircuts he’s had…until we found Heather. She is so kind and calm, and listens to what the kids and parents want. When my daughter decided she wanted a pixie cut, saying goodbye to her beautiful golden locks, I of course brought her in. Heather worked with her and listened patiently, (and helped calm my nerves by going slow with the cut to make sure it was really what she wanted). In the end, she gave her a very girlie pixie cut that my daughter absolutely loves and totally rocks. The smile on her face was bigger than any I had seen before. I love the new studio space and although they’re too big for the kiddie chair, my kids are always thrilled to pick a show to watch and get a lollipop! 🍭 💕

Took our 2.5yo son for a haircut with Heather this morning. Scheduling an appointment was a breeze. Love that she opens at 8am on Saturdays! She was very efficient and patient with our kiddo. He loved the little car chair and she put Blippi on TV for him. He was thrilled to get a sucker and balloon to top off the visit. We will 100% be back again!

Heather was amazing! Our 2 year old hasn’t had the best haircut experiences but Heather really helped him feel calm and settled after only a few minutes of anxiety. She knew exactly what to do and was so thoughtful!

My daughter Ava who has a few developmental delays is not easy to work with. Especially since her hair being touched puts her in sensory overload. Heather was so patient with her and even with Ava’s tantrums it still took heather only 10 minutes to cut her hair. I was so amazed and thankful. If I could give 100 stars I would.

Absolutely horrible!!!!! I went with my friend and her son who has autism so he started to cry when he was getting his haircut. Heather was so annoyed she had zero patience and she made the situation worse. I don't know if she paying people or writing these good reviews herself but my friend and her son was treated horrible will not be going back.

Just met Haircut Heather yesterday after hearing such great things about her. She did not disappoint! She did a great job on my daughter’s hair and made my daughter feel very comfortable throughout the entire appointment. Definitely feel like I’ve found a hidden gem for great children’s haircuts in Howard county!

Truly the best experience! My son has been struggling with haircuts due to sensory needs and Heather was recommended to us. She was so calm and understanding! He sat in the car chair all by himself and went through the whole haircut without my help at all. I could have cried I was so proud of him! She truly was the best and we won’t go anywhere else. We heard a lot about Haircut Heather in the mom groups. It’s been a series of bad haircuts at home and my son was desperately in need of a haircut. So, we made the almost hour drive to see her. My son did not want to sit in the kid chair or on my lap. So, as he was standing there watching cocomelon, Heather worked her magic. My son was freaking out a little because of the sensory overload of having his hair clipped, but she was very accommodating and patient. This first haircut in a salon was better than I expected and we will definitely be back.

We just went to see Heather today for our son’s first haircut before his first birthday. From the beginning, it was clear she had great experience. Our son was super comfortable with her and didn’t cry at all through the cut. He was very calm in the little car chair and had such a good time turning the wheel and checking himself out in the mirror while she cut his hair. She even fixed up my husband’s hair afterwards for free becaue another hairstylist who had missed a big area that made his cut look off. Will definitely be returning and I think my husband is going to start getting his hair cut there too!
