I moved from where my last hair stylist worked, and needed to find someone great near me. It was my first time getting my hair cut by Sam, but I trusted that he would be able to give me the look I wanted because he had some great reviews, and the reviews didn't lie! I showed him what I wanted, he asked some questions to make sure he understood exactly what look I was going for. I appreciated the questions because it showed he was interested in getting the cut right for me. He knew exactly what he was doing. Very professional and talented. He cut my hair beautifully and blew it out into the style I wanted. Probably one of the best hair cuts and blow outs I have had in years. I'm so happy I found him.

I usually do not write reviews but today I just had to. I have been searching for a professional and experienced hair salon in the whitestone and Bayside area for over year now and im so glad I found Obsession 23 after a family member recommended it. Sam the owner is wonderful and Irini who did my hair did an amazing job! Thank you so much . I'm so grateful I found you guys! This is my second visit and I am extremely happy .. This my new salon. Don't think twice come get your hair done here!

Sam is hands down the best hair dresser I have ever been to, and I have been to some upscale salons in both Manhattan and Long Island. He is the only hair dresser that has colored my hair without leaving "hot red roots" and hair color that gets brassy a week after the color is applied. In between touch ups I do glazes which lengthen the time in between my touch ups and make my hair shiny and healthy at the same time. His salon is welcoming, comforting, and always decorated for the season. If I do not want to get my hair blown out the day I get a color or a glaze, for whatever reason, Sam has blow out stations set up where I can use a hair dryer, products, and hair tools. Usually in a salon if you do not want your hair blown out you get to sit under a dryer for 10 minutes and hope that you have your own hair comb or brush on you. Sam's attention to detail, perfection, and to making sure the customer's voice is always heard makes Hair Obsession 23 a place that never disappoints.

When I come to NY to visit with family, I don’t go back without getting my hair cut by Sam. He’s not only a wonderful stylist but he’s a very good listener. He pays great attention to your ideas and then his creativity takes over. When he’s finished cutting your hair, you walk out feeling good.

Brought my 3 beautiful ladies, wife, grandma, and daughter. Sam did an amazing job and was very kind and patient, did not rush at all. I couldn't have picked a better spot. Very happy and will definitely come back. All the best going forward Hair Obsession 23, definitely recommended 10 for 10.

I can't recommend it enough, especially Sam! From the moment I walked in, Sam made me feel comfortable and really listened to what I wanted. The cut and color I received were amazing! Sam’s attention to detail is incredible, and clearly take pride in his work. I left the salon feeling more confident than ever. Everyone at the salon is amazing!

This is one of the best salons i have been to. I walked in and was immediately greeted with warm welcomes and they were quick to take me in, the attention to detail on my hair was absolutely amazing, i’m very particular about how i get my hair cut and it was just PERFECT. I highly recommend!!!

I went to this salon today for the first time after relocating back to the neighborhood. I was there for Sam. I have known Sam for many years so when I heard he was now at Hair Obsessions, it was a no brainer. He is just so talented and always focused. He truly listened to what I asked for and took his time. I walked out today with the best haircut-style-blowout. Too bad I had nowhere fancy to go! I never write reviews (although I should do so more often) but I truly recommend trying this salon and seeing Sam for yourself. You will leave there feeling like a million bucks.

Sam is hands down the BEST hair stylist I have ever met. I’ve been going to him for almost 10 years now and he has never disappointed. Im extremely picky with my hair but with Sam he nails exactly the look I want every single time. Not only is he great at what he does he is also so welcoming and humbling. Hair obsession 23 is definitely the place to go if you want to love you hair with an amazing atmosphere!

A truly great hairstylist is hard to find, but Sam is the real deal! He listened to what I wanted and gave me a beautiful haircut & blowout. Not only is he talented, but he’s extremely friendly, welcoming, & fun to talk to while you get your hair done! The salon is modern, clean, and gorgeous. I highly recommend Hair Obsession 23!

I heard about Sam from my mom and aunt, loved both their haircuts and color and decided to try myself. No words for how amazing this salon is! I felt so welcomed and comfortable from the second I walked in and never have I walked out as happy and satisfied as I have from here. Not one thing can be critiqued. Sam is a true artist, a master at his craft. You will not be disappointed. Shout out to Ana, so much fun and master of head massages. I recently visited Hair Obsession 23 for color, highlights, cut and blowout and could not be happier with the results. Sam is a true artist, his talent and knowledge shows in every detail of his work. By the end, not only do you look amazing, but you feel amazing as he is so kind, patient, and genuinely motivated to provide the best for his clients. Obsessed with hair obsession 23! I’ve never trusted someone with my hair as much as Sam. At this point I don’t even need to tell him what I want, he just knows my usual. Ana is the sweetest and best with her head massages and styling. The environment is so friendly and welcoming. You really get treated like family. I highly recommend it!

While this establishment may be new to the neighborhood, Sam is not new to the business of all things hair. Sam has been exclusively in charge of my hair and my mothers hair for the last 20 years due to his aura, expertise and quality of service. In a time and place where there are vast arrays of professional hair services, I find that he is irreplaceable. He has created a place of warmth and excellence. Highly recommend for all hair needs!!

Cannot rave enough about Sam! I came in with a vague idea of what I wanted, showed him a bunch of different pictures, and he gave me the best haircut I’ve ever gotten. I have been going to Sam for years. He is attentive, great cuts and color and always pleasant. His new place has a great vibe, nice people. The washing station has the most comfortable seats and sink of any salon I have been in. His assistant Susie does an amazing job with shampoo and scalp massage. Highly recommend!!

I just had a haircut by Sam the owner. He has been cutting my hair and highlighting it for years. He is a true artist, an expert in what he does. I am so pleased with my haircut as always. I always feel so much better after I have my hair done and it holds up so beautifully. It’s always such a nice experience. Sam is a wonderful person and his new shop is so nice and well designed. The new shampoo chair is worth the experience and doesn’t hurt your neck at all. It’s fabulous. There is parking right outside and nearby. Definitely check out the salon.

I went to the salon yesterday for the first time after hearing that Sam was now there. What a beautiful salon. The decor is so classy and the equipment is top notch. The washing sink was so comfortable. Not the usual sinks I’m used to where they hurt your neck. Everyone working there was friendly and welcoming. But the main reason I was there was for Sam. I have been going to him for many years so when he told me he was moving of course I was going to follow him. He’s so wonderful. He listens to what you want and has the best personality. I recommend this salon and Sam to anyone looking for a very pleasant and professional experience.
