Emm is excellent! I have been coming to this salon for years and could always count on amazing service and expertise. They have a warm welcome at the reception staff, easy scheduling even with text chats, and on top of the good hair cuts and styles, they also give a nice scalp massage with your choice of fragrance oil lavender rose or the signature Aveda. Speaking of signature aveda, I like the products as they are natural and inspired by Ayurveda which is keen on customizing the experience for the individual. I appreciate it very much as I prefer vegan and natural products. I highly recommend trying the delicious Aveda tea. It’s so good, calming, refreshing, and I bought some for home too.

I love this salon and their kind staff. Most importantly, Macy she does an amazing job everytime! From the color to the cut and everything in between she’s truly a great and knowledgeable stylist.

I love coming to this salon to get my hair done by Macy!! She is so warm, friendly and welcoming to me each time. She knows how to do my hair just how I like it (layers, dark gloss) and helps me understand how to improve my hair health over time. I would recommend to anyone looking for a new hairdresser in Chicago!

I’ve been coming to Morgan for all my hair services for a year now. She is awesome! Having said that, their booking system is frustrating! That’s why the 3 stars. The online booking has gone weird on me twice now, and in the end I have had to cancel my appointment because the management has to call me to adjust on the day of the appointment! Also, the salon itself is tardy on answering calls. Of course there is the main boardline, but overall making appointments and then spending 30mins to troubleshoot to keep that appointment, to ultimately cancel is time consuming, harrowing and unreliable.

I’ve been to this salon probably 6 times now and have had different experiences each time but overall it’s been frustrating. I only go because I live nearby. First, it’s extremely difficult to get someone on the phone to make an appointment (they almost never pick up) and you can’t book color online. Second, they book haircuts in either 45 min or 1 hour increments which rarely leaves enough time, and the haircut gets rushed and doesn’t look good. They also won’t give you a blowout after any service unless you pay extra. After highlights my hair got washed so rough in the bowl all of my hair got tangled for them to rip it out with a brush (not even correctly trying to brush the knots out just brushing from the top of my head down) and you’ll get passed to different levels of stylists along the way which may not know what they’re doing. I’ve come back 2-3 times so far to get a revision because the service wasn’t done right the first time. The revision is free which is nice; but no revision is always ideal. People there are friendly, especially Dawn, but the quality of service is just not there. Probably won’t be returning :(

Just had one of the worst blowouts ever. Staff will rush you and if you booked last minute and have thick hair, regardless of if it's shoulder length and layered the stylist won't be happy working with you. Felt messy and my hair was in my face the whole time. Not relaxing not welcoming. And I paid $75 for that? I'll never go here again this is why I don't try new hair salons. Inspecting my hair, I have more split ends after this visit than I had before. I wish I could remember the stylists name because I'd never recommend her to anyone. UPDATE: I reached out to the salon and since it was my first time there, they offered me a partial refund. Idk if I could have gotten a full refund as usually that isn't in salons policies so I didn't ask. I'm glad I got $20 back. Thank you Gordon Salon

MAX was my stylist and did an awesome job with listening to me and his professional technical opinion to the haircut . It turned out fabulous 👌 and this was my first time here. Great service , and relaxing hand moisturizer/ massage to relax the hand tension was a nice surprise. Rate it a 10 plus service.

This salon is gorgeous! Everyone is super friendly and kind. Me and my stylist (Morgan) clicked right away with the vision I had for my cut/color, and she slayed!! This experience exceeded all expectations and I will definitely be back.

I have been going to Gordon Salon for over a couple of years now and the service is still fantastic. My stylist Stacy is amazing. She pays very close attention to all of the details of my textured hair and she has played an instrumental role in growing my hair. My hair has become fuller, healthier and stronger. Gordon Salon, as always… you ROCK!

Love this salon! I see Morgan and she does a great job every time, she is so consistent and sweet! I really feel like they listen to you here which is so important at a hair salon. They also do a great job of reminding you of appointments and being flexible if you need to change.

Teresa is amazing! I left the salon feeling like a brand new woman. She listened carefully and delivered exactly what I wanted. Her attention to little details turned me into an instant fan of her work. I’ve been searching for my new salon/stylist for a year since moving to Chicago and for the first time, I booked a follow up before leaving the salon. Happy is an understatement.

As always a lovely experience! I come here often for blowouts with Em or Morgan. HIGHLY recommend Em for a blowout if you want bouncy silky hair! Lately I’ve been coming in for Dutch braids done by Teresa. She is soo sweet and has the softest touch that will make you feel sooo relaxed. Always love the scalp massages they do here and occasionally someone will come by and offer a hand massage with lotion. Truly bliss!! On top of the great stylists Felix who works the desk is an absolute gem! He just makes you feel sooo welcomed and is always smiling. Absolutely loveeeee his energy! Another thing I love is how clean the salon always is! Thank you to all the lovely staff here who treat me like royalty & for working so hard!

Everyone is so friendly at this salon and Stacy always does an amazing job on my haircuts!!! I really appreciate the complimentary nape trim between haircuts as well - keeps my hair looking nice longer!

I love this salon. The entire staff is really friendly, and they have cute little events sometimes. Stacy is a real professional and always does a great job with my color, cut, and hair extensions. The hair quality they use for the extension is the best I've ever used, and she also knows how to set extensions in the front so you can still pull it up a bit without showing any tape. Stacy is also super honest and keeps me from going astray with hair color ideas and fads. Highly recommend this cute little salon in LakeShore East.

Update: Been coming here to see Morgan for almost 2 years now and I still love everything she does always. The vibes here are great and everyone is so inviting and lovely from the moment you walk through the door! Absolutely amazing! Morgan did such a good job and I have not loved a haircut this much in a really long time. She takes the time to do things perfectly and make sure you love your hair even if it means staying longer. I always appreciate her meticulous work and caring nature :)
