I had appointment for a full set of highlights so they canceled one appointment saying that her mother passed away. They rescheduled with me and they said we need to cancel again because no one is accepting new clients and they do not have any room in the near future for more appointment for me to do a full set of highlights they are unorganized, and I have a very bad experience With this situation, I never went to them before and I don’t know why they would not want to see me and they would refuse future services or any new appointments. I was wondering if anyone else out there is experiencing the same thing as I.

Abby is one of the co-owners of this amazing establishment and I don’t know what I would do if Abby leaves the Bay Area. I’ve been working with her for 15+ years and have seen her grow her business to such amazing services! I also see Christina to do my microblading and she takes the time to make sure you like your brow shape before she works on the actual microblading procedure. I also have alopecia and both ladies took my concerns and made sure to educate me and see how we can work around my areas of concern. I highly recommend coming here for your hair or microblading services!

Abby is simply the best. I have followed her from several other salons and so happy she is finally co-owner in her own place. I get so many compliments (mostly from random strangers) about my color and cut. My grays have been spreading like wildfire and she has gone from partial highlights to highlights all over to cover them. At this point I just sit down and let her take over. All the stylists are tremendously talented and work with all different hair types. The salon is comfortable and welcoming with all the typical amenities (coffee, sparkling water, wine). They do a great job of sharing their work on social media in case you need some additional photos for reference!

Absolute LOVE the Golden West Salon and my stylist Tina!! Not only is the salon beautiful/the best vibes, but the stylists are incredible. Tina always slays my hair and I am so so grateful to have found her. We always have the best conversations and she makes every appointment of mine so fun. Love love love this place 🩷🩷🩷

I booked a cut and blow-dry and requested a trim from my existing hair cut – so 1 inch from the bottom and a tiny trim of some shorter pieces at the sides of my face. I was clear that I wanted just a trim of the same hairstyle I already have, very minimal and just following what was already there. I also explained that the front pieces at the sides of my face have a tendency to curl/spring up when washed and dried and so I prefer for these to not be too short when cut as they will spring up further when they air dry. Unfortunately my instructions were not listened to and the hairstylist cut those side pieces extremely short (they were previously below jaw length and one side was cut just below eye level) and these were cut whilst wet, which means they’re even shorter once air dried. The cut was also taken from those side pieces into the rest of my hair so it was feathered in or graduated into the rest of my hair, which meant losing 10 inches in length from the rest of my hair. My hair is fine in texture and on the thinner side so really cannot take being cut into in this way and it now looks extremely fluffy and even finer. I said at the time that it is not what I asked for but to make the other side even at least – this was not done and the side pieces are extremely uneven. I’m very disappointed with the haircut and will only wear my hair up and those side pieces pinned back until it has grown out enough for it to be rectified, or at least cut to an even length. I don’t feel like my instructions were listened to and will not be returning to this hair salon. I booked the appointment based off of the Google reviews so felt it was important to feedback.

Her expertise with blondes is unparalleled, consistently delivering precisely what I need and exceeding my expectations. She's not only quick and skilled but also incredibly talented. I have been seeing Michelle Hunt for 12+ years and she is an absolute perfectionist when it comes to hair. So, when she and Abby decided to open their own salon, Golden West, I was not surprised that it was also perfect! Not only is the salon beautiful, yet approachable, and carries the best products, they have created an environment that has attracted top stylist talent from across the city. While Michelle still does my hair and still does it perfectly, I can trust that if I am in need, the same level of care and detail will be delivered from anyone on the Golden West team!

I have had the absolute best experiences at Golden West! The salon is sunny and gorgeous, and all of the staff are so welcoming and personable. I have been coming here for years, and have had nothing but compliments regarding my haircuts and color! I've been coming to Golden West Salon since they opened and have seen Abby for years and years prior to that. I absolutely trust her with my hair. She listens to what I want, while also giving her advice and explaining the process and what to expect. I see her every five weeks for my roots and have the best experience and results. In addition to her talent, you can see how she mentors and collaborates with her team and makes it a great environment. Would absolutely recommend Abby or anyone else at this salon to a friend!

I've had Michelle as my stylist for the past 10 years and she truly is the most amazing hair stylist & sweetest person! It's been amazing to see her and Abby's business thrive at Golden West. Not only is it the cutest, most cozy vibe in the salon, but all the gals there are super welcoming & sweet. If you want balayage, highlights, a haircut, trim, special event styling, brow or lash services - this team can do it all. They also do a great job of cutting men’s hair too. Golden West Salon is located on Union Street above street level leaving some wonderful, natural sunlight to reflect into the space throughout the day. There’s even a cute rooftop patio where you can catch some nice views or relax in their pretty waiting room with a nice spread of beverages before your appointment. Abby and her team are not only incredibly at hair, but also provide a welcoming and clean environment. They are prompt with service and the salon is beautiful with natural air flow amd sun light. My wife and I along with most of our friends in the Russian hill/ Pac Heights area use Golden West. Thanks for the great hair!
