Booked at this spa for a fun girls day for my best friends birthday. We booked a one hour couples massage. It was confirmed when we checked in and then they took us downstairs where the massages happen. No one was there to greet us, so the receptionist from upstairs basically took us in to show us around and then all of a sudden these two guys popped their heads out of different rooms and called out our names and said they were ready for us. We had to let them know we were supposed to be getting a couples massage. So then they were scrambling while we were standing there and had to get The Room all set up so they could do our massage together. Once the room is finally set up and we actually had the conversations about what type of massage we wanted, I bet you we were probably 10 to 15 minutes late getting started. They finished right at 1 PM (massage was supposed to start at 12 noon) and did not make up for any time that was lost even though they weren’t set up and ready for us. Price: $147 for a 45 minute Massage! And one masseuse wasn’t even an RMT, he was a holistic health practitioner. I’ve never been shaken so much during a massage….i have no idea what that technique is called. We had facials following massages. I will say that they were super lovely but also a hang up here as well. At time of booking we were given the option of 1hr or 1.5hr for slightly varying prices. We both chose 1.5hr. We both received a 1hr facial and when questioned about this we were told facials can vary from 1 to 1hr 15 mins. Price: $180!! We planned our whole day around the information we were given when my friend booked our day. The Spa was open until 5pm so we could enjoy the pool and hot tub before getting ready for our dinner plans….. nope! Spa closed at 4pm. I think we were tracked down and asked for money three times to which we said we will settle up and pay when we were finished. When we expressed our concerns and frustrations to the manager (Tammy) at time of payment, she dismissed everything. Went on to prepare our bills and didn’t even bother to apologize for any misunderstandings, just defended what happened and tried to skirt around addressing it. I can confidently say we will never be going back to this overpriced, mediocre spa and I caution anyone considering to have low expectations if you do book.

I booked an express manicure. And received the worst manicure to date. She removed my existing shellac and put new shellac on. That it and I was charged $100!!! Then less then 12 hours after my nails started chipping, and breaking. I called 4 times before finally getting a call back. We are not from the area and we were already gone when the finally called me back. She said she “didn’t believe me” that all the girl did was remove my old stuff and put on new stuff. I told her I was unhappy with the service and wanted a refund as I now have to spend more money to fix their mess! You can see through the shellac she applied 2 coats but that wasn’t enough, they are all chipped and broken now, and I am out all the money. She reluctantly told me she would refund the cost of the polish so on a $100 bill it was $21.00 that I was refunded. If I could give this place a 0 I would. Horrible service and lack lustre They refund me $20 job! DO NOT GO!!!

My daughter booked her wedding party of 6 in the salon to get hair and make up done. She went for a trial run and said it was ok. In the end she decided to cancel due to the cost and she wasn’t totally satisfied. She had to put 900.00 dollars down for the day is what the girl she spoke to said. Then that would help with the cost and pay the rest when done. That’s a lot of money for a deposit! When my daughter canceled she was told she wouldn’t get her deposit back. My daughter gave plenty of notice it was 2 months away from the wedding. I went to salon to speak to the owner and try to convince her she had lots of time to book up, I was in her profession a few years ago and I know how it works. In the end of our conversation the owner said she would give half back, that still did not sit good with me! So my daughter put in a dispute with her credit card as that was how she paid the deposit! There is so much more I could say but will not! If you go here be very careful, there was alot of deceit. I’m so happy to say that my daughter won the dispute through the credit card and received all of her money back!

My mom and I came here for pedicures the first day of our week at Copperpoint. The spa setting is nice, but you’re in the basement with no windows. We had one esthetician between the two of us, so it took twice as long as we expected. By the end we really felt she was rushing. There was no base coat polish or top coat polish used, just two thick layers of the colour, which immediately smeared for both of us. Also the esthetician used a metal pumice and was not paying attention and literally filed the sensitive skin at the base of my big toe and broke the skin. So I had a literal wound and had to wear a bandaid for the rest of my vacation. A week later and it’s still not healed. I get about 6 pedicures a year, in all different places, and this was by far the most expensive and the worst experience.

Pille at Gemstone Salon & Spa always does a top notch job when I come in for my haircuts. She is very professional, friendly and ensures that I am completely happy with my haircut. I would highly recommend Pille but book in advance as she is so popular there is no chance of getting a walk-in appointment!

Today I booked a massage with Ken and holy moly is this guy amazing!! Super professional and extremely helpful and overall very kind! I super duper recommend this place. Ken also gave me some really helpful tips for my carpeltunnel/pinched nerve for when Im back home! Thanks again Ken I hope to be able to come back sometime :)

Amazing!! The Owner is a doll and did an unbelievable job on my hair. The salon is also very clean, professional and welcoming… a lovely atmosphere full of happy staff! Definitely 5+ stars.

Booked appointment to have hairextensions installed. Owner Tammy told me it was against her policy to install extensions NOT purchased from HER salon. Oh okay. Of course trust Tammy as she is the owner what could go wrong. I ordered new hair extentions {$800.00} through this salon. I asked owner to notify me if hair extensions was not delivered in time for appointment and rebook. Waste of my time otherwise. She said of course and agreed if product was not in she would let me know and we could rebook. The day of January 19,2022 I walked into salon, Tammy told me she had everything needed and let's get started for best salon experience in the valley. She highlighted my hair, toned hair, cut my hair and as she was brushing my hair mentions she did NOT receive the hair extensions I ordered. As well she colored my hair dark brown and not blonde as I asked for. Her solution...lend me her hair extensions and install them on my hair. I told her "I have and had my own hair extensions we could have used for this appointment. She says again "against her salon policy to utilize hair extensions NOT purchased in her salon". But she be happy to lend me her personal hair extensions until the ones I purchased are delivered. Oh did I mentioned she colored my hair to match HER HAIR Extensions. Dark brown not blonde as I asked for. Worst customer service, owner was most dishonest, disrespectful and biggest disappointment in hair salon services I have experienced.

Came back to review a second time as I had such an amazing experience again. Tammie & Alix did my hair & nails for a trip and I absolutely recommend them to anyone! My nails lasted the whole trip and they made me feel so beautiful, Tammie goes above & beyond on my hair & I always have such a great experience at their salon.

Do NOT go here! I spent $500 (w.tip) for nails that didn't last a weekend, and you would assume with this price we'd get parafin or a cheap glass of champagne, we hardly got a lotioning afterwards (i got my hands done and thats it, nothing for my bridesmaids). It was a gift for my bridesmaids and I ended up being talked into "gel" as it would last longer but didn't even make it 24hrs, I wasn't able to go in either as they're closed Sundays Mondays, after a few days of calling I finally got a refund for my manicure which was nice but also kind of a "to be expected" so the fact nothing extra was offered to ammends, shows me that they don't truly care about repeat business . Everyone I've talked to about this experience has told me what a rip off it was and that they'd never go there themselves. You're literally paying them for the "convenience" of having them do your spa treatment. Very disappointing given how bougie this places reputation is.

I have had my hair done by Tammy and Dani. Gemstone always impresses me, the staff are all kind, professional, and great at what they do. The atmosphere is welcoming and the studio is always clean and cozy! Dani was amazing when I came back after an appointment, very understanding and wanted to fix the concern I had. I am getting my wedding hair and makeup done there this spring, I’m super excited!

I’d like to start by saying the girl that did our pedicures was VERY NICE and enjoyed her company. That said I feel we way overcharged for the end results of our pedicure. Neither of us had our toe nails clipped. Or probably shaped. Extra skin around the nail was not cleaned up. We were rushed with our service. One tech going back and forth between the 2 of us. Nearly $160 for a pedi should be amazing. This was far from it.

My family and I decided to treat ourselves to a spa day. We all spent close to $1000 this day I Went in for a manicure Was told to get the gel polish as it will last at least 2-3 weeks and won’t chip. So decided to go with that. The first day one of my nails chipped so I had to return the next day to get it fixed. Not off to a good start!! After returning home from vacation I noticed that at least 3 of my nails were chipping. I had only had them on for 6 days. Decided to contact Gemstone as there was definitely a problem. I even sent pictures. The reply I received from the manager Tammi was very insulting. She took absolutely no responsibility and just cast blame. She said I had obviously picked them by the looks of the pictures. No matter what it looks like to automatically assume I would do that is not very professional. To spend over $150 for a manicure and in less than a week decide I should pick it off sounds a little ridiculous. I am not into wasting that kind of money. When I spoke with her she said it does not come with a guarantee and it could be my lotion my cleaning products and on and on and on. I have had manicures and pedicures before and have never had this happen. For a manager to take this kind of stand and offer absolutely nothing to solve the issue except cast blame is not very professional in my opinion. I will never use this establishment again. I recommend with this type of attitude and not standing behind their service that no one else does either. Looking at the other reviews I see a lady that had the same problem as I did with her nails. Seems odd 2 of us would have the same problem around the same time. I also see Tammi’s name mentioned a few times on her rudeness and not being very professional. I know this business is leased out and Tammi is the manager, but I can’t believe that Copper Pointe would let these things happen and not do anything. Gives your whole business a bad name!!!!

NOT RMTs for massage - insurance coverage was denied. Although they have it posted at the cash and make you sign for it before having a massage - it is a little late after you arrive and are ready to get a massage. They should make this clear on the phone when you book. They have a type of certification, but it isn't recognized. Massage and facility was nice, but i obviously would have gone somewhere else that offers a similar experience that my insurance would cover. I'm with Greenshield.

I was a little hesitant about booking the gel pedicure due to the price, but Alix was extremely professional and took her time to ensure my experience was beyond excellent. The pedicure took approx 90-100 minutes, so I didn't feel rushed. The spa was spotless and the service was great! I also had a haircut booked with Blake as I was a little overdue for a trim. He did a really good job with the trim and I left feeling really happy with the service I was provided. 10/10 would recommend.

Just wanted to share my experiences with the Manager (Tammy Beggs) of the salon, which was absolutely TERRIBLE. I would have given 0 stars if at all possible. The below is a select number of concerns I have had with this salon, including ongoing lying, not providing necessary information and very low standards of practice (not trying to be complete but just give you a sense of what type of people run this place): - When booking our massages (x2) we clearly indicated and asked if the massages were reimbursable by insurance after which we received a full YES. I requested a receipt at the time and received a copy excluding relevant information - my insurance did not pay due to serious concerns they have with this salon following internal investigations - I have called and emailed the hotel and Tammy Beggs numerous times to try obtain something as simple as a professional code and/or therapist name - to date (3 months post using the services) I have still not received complete information. The hotel has also not helped in fixing this dispute. - Tammy Beggs is extremely unprofessional when spoken to (doubt any kind of formal education) i.e. communication is repeated numerous times and still does not make sense, extremely rude, sighs on the phone when asked questions, etc. - For one therapist a NHPC number was provided, that, according to my insurance provider, was fictitious. She is not actually registered after research done by my insurance and they literally wrote me that they do not provide payment for salons that are not in good standing (which is what they rank Gemstone Spa following their investigation and lack of truth). I have had numerous massages across AB and BC and never had an insurance company provide me this feedback before. I can go on but will stop here, hopefully to make some potential users of the spa aware of the awful customer services by Tammy. Hopefully no-one else has to experience this!

I recently had my hair colored and cut here. Although I’m quite satisfied with my color and the service was overall good I was absolutely floored by my bill. When I booked I received a conformation with the general pricing and thought it was reasonable. I left with a $330 bill :( Way over priced, I felt ripped off and will not be returning.

I had them do my wedding hair and makeup on 7.27.2019...along with my maid of honor. They did an amazing job on both of us, and I loved how it turned out! The hair and makeup lasted through the entire night! They were so nice...we had a great time while there!
