Had an appointment at 11, hairstylist didn’t arrive till 11:30,when she arrived she was being rude when I explained how I’ve made an appointment and came on time, then all she said is her computer isn’t working, like huh, they honestly need to get it together.

I am so happy that I found this salon. Ms. Phyllis is an excellent stylist! She truly cares about the health of her clients’ hair and she is very professional. I have found that to be a rarity with other stylists. I have a been a client for a little over a year, and my hair is a lot healthier since I have been coming to Gabi’s Hair Spa. I have always had a positive experience here.

I had scheduled an appointment for 9am and it was confirmed with my card and everything and I’ve been waiting over an hour waiting to see if anyone would come but no one showed up. I was excited to get dreads today but I was let down and disappointed to say the least. I will not be returning to sit and waist my time again.

Ms. Phyllis is the definition of a great hair stylist. A specialized black hair care stylist with experience is rare in this area but you can't get any better than Ms. Phyllis. Been my hairstylist since I was young and finally reunited with her again. Affordable, excellent personalized service and hairstyles to die for! 10 out of 5 stars 🌟

The worst experience I have ever had with sew-in hair extensions service. Phily cut my hair. When I took out the braids, a huge lock of hair came out. I remember when She was braiding my hair, she would run a pair of scissors through my already braided hair. That’s how she cut my hair😭!! Moreover, the front of my head is no longer curly. I had over a year growing out the front part of my hair and Philly damaged it with heat. Now it's straight hair. I have been wearing hair extensions for over 10 years and have never gotten my hair accidentally cut before. I feel like she did it on purpose, because she clinked her scissors when she saw that I was uncomfortable with that. I also experienced major hair breakage like never before. My hair broke a lot, I thought I wouldn't have any hair left on my head because of the breakage and damage.! Also when I left the salon I had a few layers of hair hanging out, I saw them and went back immediately to have them sewn in, then they unstitched again 2 weeks later and I had to fix it myself. Additionally, she cut the ends of my pompadour without telling me, when I saw the hair was being cut, I asked her, (are you cutting my hair without telling me?).and she said, yes, because it needs to be cut. 😒 my rating is 0. This place shouldn't be in operation at all!

Took my children there for back to school and the experience was horrible. I saw the other reviews but thought maybe things would be different for me. It was not. Wish I would have listened to other reviews. It was dirty... they were slow.. did not do professional work..

went in for a silk press. phyllis is nice but i know what a silk press should be and this wasn't it. it's greasy and slicked down, unmoving, and its only saving grace is that it's straight. going from a top-professional stylist to this experience has just shown me that i need to stick with who and what i know. still tipped, of course, because that's honest labor but won't be going back for a silk press.

I signed up and attended Natasha's hair care class and it was the best class EVER! I really enjoyed her class and have learned so much valuable information. I walked out with the knowledge knowing how to maintain and promote healthy hair for me and my 3 little girls. Natasha is amazing with a great personality. She explains everything in detail so you can fully understand and have that confidence that you need, this is absolutely necessary. Before then, I have been struggling and had no idea on how to take care of my kids hair the proper way. I wish it was more people like her that actually care. I give all the glory to Natasha's hair care class @ Gabi's Hair Spa. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone needing help like I did for my kids.Thank you so much Natasha!

I would have been a new client today. I made an appointment for 9:00am, confirmed my appointment as well ,got to my appointment early but no one came to the shop. I called the service to see if she could get anyone but still received no call back or nothing. I waited at the shop for 45 minutes thinking that they might be running late. Still no one came or called me. This was really a waste of my time and bad business. Very unacceptable and needless to say, I will never return to this shop or suggest anyone to come here.

Atsha did an absolutely phenomenal job giving me two distinct hair looks for my Nov 10 wedding held in Pasadena, Maryland. My guests were so impressed with how I look and I was told on more than occasion that I looked like a million dollars. Atsha also did my flower girl’s hair and my mother’s hair…she did an excellent job on all of our hair looks!

I’m new to Frederick and still kinda homesick. I came here and felt at home! Everyone is so down to earth. Felt like I was talking to my aunts. I got a wash, treatment and my first silk press! My stylist did an amazing job! But more so, made me feel very comfortable. Can’t wait til return soon!
