I purchased a ResortPass for a day of relaxation and reading at the Four Seasons Scottsdale, but unfortunately, my experience was far from welcoming. From the moment I arrived, I encountered poor service. There was no clear direction on where to park for ResortPass guests, and when I unknowingly pulled into the VIP section, an attendant rudely asked, “Ma’am, do you know you’re in VIP?” instead of simply guiding me to the correct area. At reception, I politely greeted the staff and mentioned I had purchased a ResortPass. Instead of assisting me, the receptionist abruptly corrected me, assuming I meant the spa. When I clarified and showed my confirmation email, she was dismissive and unfriendly, then disappeared into the manager’s office without explanation. Another staff member then approached and began questioning where I had purchased the pass, implying it might not be valid. Once I mentioned ResortPass, she acknowledged it but proceeded to emphasize the restrictions rather than making me feel welcome. By this point, I felt so uncomfortable that I decided to leave early, despite having paid over $100 for the experience. Sadly, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was being treated differently, it was disheartening to feel unwelcome at a resort of this caliber. To be clear, ResortPass is not at fault—the app is exquisite, and I have had wonderful experiences at other locations. However, Four Seasons Scottsdale failed to meet the standard of hospitality expected from such a prestigious brand. That being said, I want to acknowledge that the pool staff was absolutely amazing—friendly, attentive, and exactly what I would expect from a luxury resort. Unfortunately, the poor treatment I received at the entrance and reception overshadowed the rest of my visit. I would not recommend visiting with a ResortPass if you’re expecting to be treated like a valued guest.

This place is everything you imagine when you think of a luxury hotel. Incredible staff, service and amenities. The casitas are tastefully done and mesh into the landscape of the mountains perfectly. The surrounding area is also incredible if you like to hike! I will go here every chance I get!

It’s in a beautiful setting. Stunning Sonoran desert views. The pool is heated but still a bit chilly midwinter. The service is good but not great. For instance we had our room cleaned and the tub was left with soap suds after our kids bubble bath. The table was never cleaned that we ate on. And the rooms need an upgrade (cracks in the tiles where plumbing fixtures improperly installed). It’s remote but we door dashed a lot of meals because for the price the food was not to the same quality. It’s worth the trip but I think they need to bring the price down a bit as it’s just not that white glove feel to it and service that Four Seasons is known for. Spectacular views!! And kid friendly, with great cribs provided. Although they neglected to mention on check in that there is a kids center. They asked if we enjoyed it on the way out.

Aidan and Dean the bartenders in the lobby bar were absolutely so thoughtful and accommodating. They were so knowledgeable about food and beverage. Dean brought a crazy international four seasons experience while Aidan complemented with his knowledge of foods and cocktails along with local area recommendations!

We stayed for 3 days at the end of December. The resort property is wonderful, the location a bit remote but a nice setting. However the service was really mixed and hit some unexpectedly poor spots for the Four Seasons brand and premium price. We booked via Amex Platinum which gives some food credits and other benefits. We had to ask for the benefits - usually they are provided at checkin pro-actively. Miss #1. We were told we could use the $90 credit for breakfast. But they failed to explain only at a certain restaurant. Miss #2 and this needs a bit of explaining since the problems went down a few unfortunate paths. First, we ate at the Proof restaurant on our first morning and waited 20 minutes to be seated in a 1/4 full restaurant. We then sat and received some water from a bus boy after 10 minutes and then waited and waited and prompted and prompted for our server to take a drink order and breakfast order. It was not until we walked to the front desk to ask the manager to provide service before we received any attention. That took about 40 more minutes. Then we ordered food and coffee and it took a fair amount of additional time. Again, the restaurant was very slow and there were a ton of servers, water boys, bus boys etc available. The operations were definitely askew. In any event we received our decent* food and agreed to not go back to this location for breakfast since it turned into nearly a 2 hour ordeal for a a basic breakfast. So the next two days we go to the buffet and get the same food (!) next door and the overall process takes minutes - as to be expected. (*I believe the original ordered food on day 1 was actually served from the buffet because it was lukewarm.) We found our fix (we thought) to eat at the buffet for the same food, and in control of the timing. We go to check out and they tell use the buffet (which was cheaper than the Proof meals) is not included in the $90 food credit. We explained the situation which was the front desk person did not say we couldn't have the buffet for our food credit so we are surprised. The man checking us out said he didn't have the authority to correct the situation (a credit was expected) and he would have a manager call us to discuss. We didn't hear back after a week+. So that was miss #2. And on to the pool service... on every occasion my food or drink order was forgotten and required a few prompts to get either. Sometimes taking an hour for something quite simple. Miss #3 The room minibar had an opened (seal broken, half eaten) cashews when we arrived. We told the front desk about this and the cleaning folks twice. It was taken by one of the housekeeps on our 3rd mention of it, but never replaced. And yes, we were charged $52.77 for the cashews which we never ate! Miss #4. That said, there were times of good service and delightful servers and friendly staff - but at Four Seasons one would expect consistency in excellent service.

Amongst the other Four Seasons Residence Clubs, this one lags in service. This review is for the Residence Club only. Overall service is below standards. We waited over 20 minutes before the pool attendant came to prepare our chairs. The restaurant by the pool is absolutely horrendous. Ocotillo Grill. We had the ribeye melt and fajitas. Although the prices were more than reasonable, the food was inedible. Housekeeping service oddly had a note that the dishwasher will be turned on only on Wednesday. Kidding right? If we want it to use at other times to contact Housekeeping. There is way too much nickle and diming which is typical of Four Seasons. The rooms are fabulous, the location is great. But if you want to be pampered go somewhere else.

Location is a bit remote but in some ways it is great. Service is not nearly what you would expect for a four seasons. In the last twelve months, we have been to Napa and the Seychelles and this is miles behind. As for the rooms, I would expect more. This feels like a luxurious Motel 6. Same noisy fridge and AC. Bedding and fireplace save the day. The grounds are gorgeous. The view from the bar at sunset is amazing but……. You should try harder. Because you are not anywhere close to where I expect the brand to be.

This should not be considered a Four Seasons maybe a Boutique Four Seasons. Definitely lacking the upscale feel and small details that Four Seasons is known for. I have stayed all over the world at Four Seasons Resorts. This is absolutely on the lowest part of scale. Hotel coffee is subpar at best. I will not stay here again, and if you are a Centurion Card Holder please make sure AMEX does not book you here. I can say that the area is absolutely beautiful, and the food has been delicious.

Booked our wedding at the Four Seasons Scottsdale and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Super serene and the room we stayed in was absolutely stunning. Beautiful location, amazing food, and wonderful staff all helped with creating a very special day.
