Made an appointment for a quick trim, as I was in from out of state for a funeral and didn't have time to get a cut at home. Scheduled my appointment with the stylist on Monday, October 28th at 2:30pm. I wear my hair a little beyond shoulder-length, with longer layers all around and side-swept bangs. It's been a while since I've had a trim so I told her that she could take up to 2-3 inches off the length to bring it back to shoulder-length. I even showed her a picture of what I normally have and how I style it (example). She began by taking the length off in the back and then she mentioned "oh I see you have layers back here, would you like me to trim those up too?" I said yes, but emphasized that they are long layers. She began cutting from the back, so I could not see how much she was taking off. She spent quite a bit of time cutting in the back - and by the time she moved to the sides, I could see that she was pulling out sections of my hair and cutting straight up and down, with portions of the hair slipping out between her fingers. No point cutting, just a straight line cut through thick sections of hair. No attempts were made to blend with the next sections, or the lower or upper sections. I kept hoping she knew what she was doing and at one point, was searching her station for a posted license or certification. When I pointed out that the sides were uneven, she twirled me around to face her and began cutting the shorter side even shorter! I had to correct her about which side she should shorten/thin out. At that point, I should have stopped the cut altogether and demand that someone else come help, but there was only one other stylist in the shop, who was with a client. When she reached the point that she was only doing more damage, I stopped her and told it it was fine. I left the shop with what can only be described as a cross between Carol Brady and Joe Dirt. I was able to get in to someone else the following day, who was clearly horrified by the botched cut. She said she had been cutting hair for over 20 years and had never seen a worse haircut. She performed miracles to fix it, shorten it and give me a style I can live with and grow out. I won't mention the stylist's name on this review as it is a public forum, but Fantastic Sam's management should be able find it based on the appointment information given above. Hopefully they can prevent this from happening to future patrons.

Have been to this location a handful of times and this last time was a mess. Arrived 15 minutes before my appointment and wasn't seen till close to a half hour after my appointment time (45 minutes of waiting). After waiting for about a half hour, a lady came in to her appointment 15 minutes late and was seated for her cut before mine for some reason. Kind of a slap in the face after I showed up early. Would be nice to let people know You are running behind beforehand. Also maybe prioritize the people that show up on time or early for their appointments over those who show up late. Was really not a great experience being seated next to her while she babbled about how dumb other drivers are and how she was glad she was only 15 minutes late and called to inform them. Second star added due to the staff being nice typically. Will be looking for a new salon moving forward

Got an adult haircut. I saw after on the website that a complimentary shampoo therapy and consultation was provided with a haircut but I wasn’t given either. I got a simple trim to get rid of split ends with face framing and they charged 38 dollars for that which just didn’t seem worth it to me. Plus the face framing layers just didn’t satisfy me entirely it was just like a straight cut and wasn’t blended in properly with the rest of my hair and I still have plenty of split ends. I’m regretting coming and messing up hair.

I have never felt compelled to review an establishment before but I feel people should be warned. I would highly recommend not getting your hair cut by Rebekah. Worst hair cut I’ve had in 40+ years.

On August 2, 2025 i had an horrible experience don’t get me wrong the front desk lady was sweet but when it came to my eyebrows it was a nightmare i told the lady to clean up my eyebrows and keep the arch shape not only she didn’t listen but she made my eyebrows two different shapes and it was so bad that i cried i feel ugly now.. My husband and I try speaking with the mmanager but every time they come up with an excuse why she can’t talk on the phone either she’s “ out until wednesday” or she’s “ busy” It's so frustrating.. Now I have to cover it up with makeup until it grows back.. This is my fault for cheating on my eyebrow lady I should have went to her instead of fantastic Sams 😞..

Nestor was great with my 11 year old son. He talked with us to find out what he wanted, and my son told me after we left that he likes the cut a lot and that Nestor was great (showing him how to style it, etc.)

A great shop that offers solid cuts, colors and other services at reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and professional and highly skilled. Ask for Nestor if you're looking for an amazing cut or color!

I got my hair cut with Jennifer and she was quick, pleasant, and didn't seem upset when I stated that I'm not chatty in the chair. The salon seems like a good environment for either a quick cut or an intense dye job.

Jennifer is awesome and amazing! Best damn hairstylist by far at this location. Her colors are amazing! She's like a mad scientist with color! And her haircuts and head massages are the absolute best. Jennifer made my experience at this location the best overall haircut experience I likely have ever had. She's got to be the main reason this location is so popular. Jennifer is a rock star, I hope management is aware of this!! Stop by this location and ask for Jennifer you won't regret it!

My appointment was completely rushed and my hair was completely destroyed. It genuinely looks like a child took scissors to it. Even when I went back to get it fixed, they said they couldn’t really do anything. $40 to look like a clown is ridiculous

Went in for a cut. I've used fantastic Sam's for 23 years because I used to have a good experience. I work 13 to 15 hours a day and am always on call, so I can't commit to appointments. So I have ALWAYS done walk in. Today I went in. 2 ladies at counter. Not a soul waiting. Lady goes do you have an appointment? No, I've never needed one. Well, we can squeeze you in in 4.5 hours. No. There was nobody there. The time before that the lady cutting my hair was getting very upset over politics and news, even when I asked her to stop, I didn't want to argue or debate. Rather than stop talking she quit in the middle of my hair cut and I had to go somewhere else to get it finished. So, after 23 years of being solely fantastic Sam's, I won't be going again.
