I want to thank Dorca for bringing my smile back I was pleased with her work and her passion for making sure that I have the best hair treatment to help repair my Dry & Damaged hair after having it bleached. The place is very welcoming and I felt Beautiful leaving her salon. thank you! For taking me in as a walk-in and still had the best experience I’ve ever had.

THEY WILL RUIN YOU HAIR I had beautiful 3A curls and they ruined it with the amount of heat they used despite me saying repeatedly to use less heat and to use a heat protectant. Here are my issues with the salon: 1. Customer service was terrible - they kept me waiting in between every single service. I got my hair washed and then I had to wait for 30 minutes just to get it conditioned and dried because the lady doing my hair took on another client?!?! And then they kept the conditioner in for too damn long, why? Busy with another client. 2. I wanted a simple trim and a regular blowout and I specifically said less heat and more heat protectant. She laughed at me said she 'cares' about my hair and just lightly sprayed some heat protectant ONCE like ma'am how is that enough for ALL my hair. 3. My hair is now ruined, my curls won't go back to the way they were and I spent almost a year taking care of it and growing it out. IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR HAIR HEALTH AND NOT JUST A SHINY BLOWOUT DO NOT GO HERE. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE OR EVEN YOUR HAIR.

I can’t say enough great things about Dorcas Hair Expert! I have textured, curly hair, which makes finding a salon that truly understands how to work with it a challenge. But Dorcas is the only salon in NC that managed to give me a flawless blowout and haircut! The cut was exactly what I asked for—a small trim without losing half my hair, which is so rare to find. Dorcas was professional, honest, and incredibly skilled. My hair has never looked or felt this good! Highly recommend her for anyone with curly hair looking for a stylist who truly knows her craft.

I recently had an appointment at this salon, and it was the worst experience I’ve ever had. I called ahead, clearly explaining that I needed my sew-in removed, my bundles dyed, and my natural hair washed and deep-conditioned. I even offered to remove my sew-in myself, but the man who answered assured me the stylist could do it at a reasonable price. Upon arrival, the stylist started removing my sew-in, only to inform me halfway through that it would cost $50 – a surprise I wasn’t prepared for. She then left mid-process, so I had to unbraid my own hair. When I asked the total price, it shot up from $145 to $300, which felt like a bait-and-switch. I opted just for a wash and deep condition instead, but even that was poorly done. My scalp wasn’t scrubbed, and she quickly applied conditioner before telling me to go, charging $60 for what felt like half-hearted service. The worst part? The staff spoke negatively about me in Spanish, assuming I didn’t understand. As a Black woman from Colombia, I was deeply disappointed by their lack of respect. I found another salon afterward, where the team was respectful, thorough, and charged a fair price. This salon needs serious improvement in both service quality and professionalism.

I recently received a keratin treatment and I love the results. My hair is so nice and soft. The staff also made me feel very welcomed as soon as I entered the salon. I will definitely be coming back.

I recently visited Dorca’s Dominican beauty salon and I couldn't be happier with the experience! From the moment I walked in, the customer service was exceptional. The staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive, making sure I felt comfortable throughout my visit. But the real star of the show was my haircut. I asked for a fresh style with bangs, and Dorca delivered beyond my expectations. The bangs are perfectly cut—framing my face just right and adding a modern, chic look that I absolutely love. The attention to detail was incredible; Dorca really took the time to understand what I wanted and executed it flawlessly. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I left the salon feeling more confident and stylish than ever. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to update their look with amazing bangs and top-notch customer service!

My experience there was so horrible. I got a relaxer yesterday and not only did they leave it on too long which resulted in my hair being thin, they burned my ear severely with the relaxer. Instead of adding Vaseline before, they added it afterwards. She ran out of relaxer so quickly put my hair in a ponytail and dipped it into the bucket to coat my hair in the leftover relaxer on the sides of the bucket. Now my hair is thin at the top and thick at the ends… and when trimming my hair ONE SIDE OF MY HAIR IS SHORTER THAN THE OTHER! I couldn’t notice because she put all these childish curls in my hair… I’m devastated. So not only is my hair 3 inches shorter… one side is is shorter and my hair is thin.. My hairdresser’s name was Melvi. I paid 145 to ruin my hair.

I love the owner of this business always kind always caring unfortunately it’s the second time I made an appointment online with advance and confirm it various times to arrive today and find out she is not here. I have a weeding tomorrow her husband is in charge of the office business and he did not reach out to me to cancel or to advised that she won’t be here. I found this very unprofessional and it’s the second time. I want it to keep my business here but after today I can’t.

This is my first time coming here, and I'm really impressed with what they did with my hair. They are nice. I will repeat the experience with them, and I advise those who wear the hijab to do so as well. I did not remember the name of the girl who styled my hair for me, but I would like to thank her. Every-time I come here the price is different. My hair is thin, cut in layers and falls under my chin. I asked for a leave in conditioner and it wasn’t even a real leave in conditioner and that was 10.00… A wash, set and blow the roots is 50.00… I miss NY… NC has a lot of Dominican hair spots not on every corner but enough… I can’t say I will return… They are friendly and polite but the prices are ridiculous

I was a first time client today. I called ahead and was told they accept walk-ins. I was greeted by staff and was immediately taken to start the washing process. The salon is absolutely beautiful, clean, great oldie music 🎶 playing. The lady that did my hair was very pleasant and professional. Price was fair and I plan to come back. Thank you for prompt and excellent service.

First, let me say, I've been going to Dorcas Dominican Beauty Salon for years and have sent plenty of people there who have all thanked me. Today...omgoodness what can I say!! I thought I was going to let my hair grow out, but once it went past my ears, I was over it. Besides, I'm 59, and honestly, I believe I look better with short hair. I went in today and told Dorcas, "That's the owners name, to cut my hair off." I'm not certain if you've heard of KrewKuts in Trinidad, but he is known for his transformations. I showed her two videos of what he does and told her she could do what she wanted, all I wanted was to not have to do hair. Period! She asked me if I wanted it colored and I told her to have fun and do what she wanted. Someone in the salon suggested I wait to see it when she finished. Bet, I was all in. I was excited, but Dorcas was more excited because she knows I trusted her and knew she was about to hook me up! She colored, conditioned, oiled... she did it all! She was attentive and didn't make me feel like she was rushing to get me out. While I sat in the chair, I closed my eyes and let her do what she does. When she finished and told me to open my eyes... I was SHOCKED! I actually cried a little. I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! I couldn't stop looking at myself. Even though I honestly didn't know what I wanted, besides it being cut off, I feel like Dorcas went in my head and pulled out what I wanted, without me realizing that's what I wanted. She's a pro, so I was comfortable letting her have her way. I have never ever had a style that I love as much as this....never. I feel like a new person. The cut and color are all of that, and I no longer have to fuss over my hair. I hear a lot of women saying they can't find a stylist who really knows how to work with natural hair. Well, Dorcas does! Dominicans have all hair textures, that's why she's my go-to, as well as my families. No matter where you live, she's worth the drive. It's best to make an appointment because she gets booked. All I can say is, I've never been disappointed, and to say I'm satisfied seems like an understatement. Thank you, Dorcas! ❤️

All I can say is run !There are several other Dominican salons in Raleigh and 3 in Cary,I will not be back to this one unless Dorcas the owner does my hair….,Melvi did my service and was super rude -when she did my blowout she made me slide all the way down in the chair when she did my blowout and then jerked my head around. Harshly And burned me several times with the flatiron.I will Not be back.She lacks kindness and professionalism talking on the phone why doing your clients hair is rude and shows you really do not care about your job -Melvi was very rude. Melvi era crudo conmigo,y nunca quiero a peinarme ,cuando salgas de la peluquería debes sentirte bien pero, melvi era dura conmigo,y Despues mi siento Muy mal.y la razones porque este chica mi trata mal… Melvi falta profesionalidad y no es bondadoso pero es muy cruel. Parece que solo le importa el dinero y no Su Trabajo -es obvio

First let me say that I haven’t gotten my hair cut in almost 5 years so it’s been a while since I’ve been to a salon.i made a last minute appt online for the following day after a different stylist/salon canceled on me for the 2nd time. It was super easy to book and I was grateful to find an appt the next day for when my original appt was. I absolutely LOVED Dorca! She was amazing and gave me the exact color I wanted for my balayage. She is so sweet and made sure I was happy with everything I got done. My hair is shorter than I would’ve wanted but it needed to be cut and I really do love how light it feels. I got a haircut, treatment, deep condition, balayage, toner, and of course a blowout/loose curls. I will definitely be returning!

They had me 8 months pregnant wait an extra 40 mins just so they could do a family members hair like I’m not a paying customer and just to charge $75 for something that another salon that has better customer service for $45 won’t ever go again I’m a paying customer and was neglected

This place definitely went downhill!!! My mom and I used to come her consistently but they started having long wait times even when we scheduled an appointment and aren’t customer focused at ALL!!! The last time I went they had me waiting for an hour and 30 minutes with 3 other people ahead of me, and I showed up 5 minutes BEFORE my appointment. I had to eventually say I’m leaving then they took me, but they definitely OVERBOOK!!! Also, what put the cherry on top, you would think they would take some amount off considering they had me wait so long but nope. Avoid this place and don’t waste your time!!!

Very unprofessional I called to ask a few questions about their services before I went to the salon and the guy was rude, I called another number and the lady put me on hold for a while and never came back to the phone then it started going to voicemail. I will spend my money elsewhere!!!
