I called yesterday to schedule a haircut after the appointment was canceled the week prior and only 1 attempt had been made to reschedule. Some backstory: we started seeing a new stylist (one of their top tier stylists) and on the first appointment was told the appointment was being moved up an hour early with approximately 2 hours notice in advance. This ended up working out great though. Upon arrival to the new, earlier appointment time we proceeded to wait 25 minutes for the stylist. Obviously this was a bit annoying considering we were told only 2 hours previously that she was ahead of schedule and the appointment could be moved up an hour, but then to arrive and be told she's behind and wait 25 minutes. But we get it, things happen. But then at my next appointment just 4 weeks later almost the same thing happened: we were given brief notice that she could get us in earlier and as we were about to head to the new appointment time we were called and told she was running behind and ultimately had to cancel the appointment. This brings me up to yesterday when I called at 11am to reschedule the canceled appointment and stated to the receptionist that we really like how this stylist is cutting hair (changing up hairstyles) but that I'm a little frustrated with how the appointment times are being regarded. Moved up, then late, moved up, then canceled, etc. I was very kind to the receptionist and told her several times I understood she was just the messenger but wanted to know how my reservations with this stylist could be remedied; could I count on the new appointment time? She said she would leave a note for her manager, Mel, who would call me back. I thought this was a little unnecessary since I never asked for a manager but so be it. I had called at 11am. At 4pm, I received the callback from Mel and she left the following voicemail being extremely condescending (in my opinion). I know how appointments work... Anyways, I missed her at the time of her call (4pm), but called back at 4:21 to speak to her. In which the receptionist told me she left at 4pm for the day. So, Mel waited from 11am to call me at 4pm with a (in my opinion) rude voicemail addressing an issue- in which I have every right to have concerns about- only to leave for the day immediately after leaving the message. When the receptionist told me this, I was obviously annoyed, but again, reiterated that I knew it wasn't her fault. Then I asked her if I could simply get scheduled with another top tier stylist. The receptionist was extremely kind and accommodating. Design 1 has some great stylists, but it's truly unfortunate that their managerial staff treats clients with such a demeaning attitude for simply trying to ensure their appointment times (at a very busy time of the year) aren't going to be yanked around. Mel is fortunate I'm deciding to give another stylist a chance versus taking my business elsewhere. I'd give 1 star, but the receptionist was so kind, that I'm giving 2 stars. Overall, would NOT recommend Design 1 Gaines if you have any issues with your service. It's great for it's services, but not for its customer service. Screenshots with receipts.

I work at a dental implant surgery center, so my neck and back are always pretty soar from looking down so much. I found Dana back when she was at the Cascade location. She now works at the Gains location and I’m so happy she’s back. She goes above and beyond at what she does. I highly recommend to book with Dana!! :)

I have been using this saloon for last 5 years and I was happy . Even many hair stylist got changed during this time. Daniel is great but when I called today to make an appointment , they required credit card to make reservations. Which I did not mind giving them. Their policy is charge the 50% for the day of cancellation which is fine too but even if we cancel 48 hour before she said they still charge 40%. Which does not make sense to me . I loved place and Daniel was best but unfortunately I need to find different place .

I requested Isabel, she does really good work which is the only reason I was going to this place but I was changed & rescheduled with someone else. I asked for a balayage, it looked like nothing had been done to my hair but one side had a random light spot. They were willing to fix it but then 2nd time I went it looked like I got orange highlights & over all really uneven. Now I have to get it fixed with someone else. I paid around 300 I’m not sure why you guys keep using the box dye as an excuse when I got my hair fixed & it lifted no problem & is still very healthy & she gave me what I asked for. I understand people make mistakes which is why I gave you guys a second chance to fix it but it was just worse. I would’ve appreciated the honesty of just telling me you were not capable of giving me the results I wanted. I would like a refund or something because it’s unacceptable what got done to my hair & how I got treated as well. I walked out the salon with orange highlights & soaking wet hair & I just didn’t enjoy my experience.

I am a hairdresser as well.. and just needed a sprucing today. I really was disappointed with my service today. I was charged WAY more than what I priced out to come in for. I feel its respectful if you know you'll be charging $170+ MORE than what I signed in for, then you need to tell the customer it costs such and such before proceeding. It was $317 for my fine hair leaving damp (my choice and good thing!) Color just on my roots, not on lengths was $92. Foiled hilights $124 with a quick tone of $40. One of my pet peeves is incorrect toning procedures. It was applied on my wet hair not even towel dried first and then left on for very little time, 100% not 15minutes and rinsed. (But not thoroughly rinsed as that was on my hair neckline I felt on my drive home. ) I have very fine hair and it was $62 dollars for a very basic outline and one layer. It took all of 5 minutes to comb me and trim me after returning to the chair. I left damp and curly just not to hassel anymore and fell over with the price at the desk. Then hand me a tip envelope. Truly should have said something then, but I felt like the stylist was annoyed by me when I truly just try to be personable to everyone I meet. Also I said I didn't want orange hilights and have orange where my roots are and cool blonde on my ends. Im just really sick about my money spent today to be less than happy.

I've been to this location several times but I've had a certain stylist twice now and left the salon disappointed each time. I initially scheduled a cut and full highlight. I called the salon the week before my appointment and switched to a cut and accent highlight instead. Both times I've had this stylist, she's rushed through my appointment. This last time she did an accent highlight. My color turned out fine but she tried some new products on me and didn't really style my hair. She diffused with a blow-dryer and left my hair damp, looking like I would after I get out of the shower. Other than the color, you couldn't tell I got my hair done. Then I was charged the price for a full highlight. When I booked on the website, it showed a cut and full highlight is $210 with this stylist and an accent highlight was around $180. I was charged $222 not including tip. Really wasn't too thrilled about that and won't be booking with this stylist again.

Went here a few months ago, and I wanted to wait until I went to another stylist to see what she charged. I got charged $200+ for someone with very little experience to back that price. She also got dye on one of my shirts too, so I got a ruined shirt also. I literally got 2 front piece highlights, my roots, and a trim for well over $200. She also didn’t wash my hair with cold water when rinsing out the dye, which at every other salon is something I’ve had done to preserve the color. My bestfriend is also a hair stylist and said everything about my first (and now only) experience, was very poor. Also reading through comments and seeing them only reply to the good ones, is really sad customer service.

First and last time I come here. As I walked through the doors immediately judgmental looks. The service was alright the girl that did my mani pedi was sweet. However $123 for shellac mani pedi that chipped the next day is a red flag, the lady in the front desk was very rude and cold to me . 3/10

Got my hair cut and colored with Isabel Dean. The finished looked was so much better than I ever could have imagined. I have never seen my hair look so good and the highlights look so flawless and blended. She perfectly matched the color and the cut was just as good and the exact length I wanted. I couldn't be happier! I was so happy she took before and after pictures! It made the experience even better!

Had a signature pedicure tonight. So not worth $68. Scrub and massage portions lasted 60 seconds each. Very disappointing experience.

I had the wonderful pleasure of working with Lana and let me tell you, she was absolutely 100% perfect! I told her that I’ve always wanted to be all over blonde as blonde can be and my goodness, she made it happen! I was so happy, I as about in tears! I cannot wait to work with her again in 7 weeks😍

I highly recommend Hannah for a Spa Facial and also Dermaplaning for a wonderful experience. She is very knowledgeable and skilled in these areas of care, and the results were awesome! It was relaxing and I felt extra pampered. A fun part was a Gogi-Berry face mask used; has many benefits. Hannah took care with every step of the treatments; and the overall service at Design One is top-notch.

If you’re looking for a new hair stylist Alana D is the best! She always does a phenomenal job, I’ve been going to her for over a year now. She never disappoints! She is so welcoming and I enjoy getting my hair done by her. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

Im so grateful! I needed an eyebrow wax for it was much needed and I made a appointment at the WRONG location! I showed up they got me in right away and Alona did an amazing job! I will definitely be returning. Thank you ladies so much!

Went here for a cut and shampoo a month ago and she restored my hair. It was damaged and brittle and falling out but perfect for restoration I literally cried for how good it felt afterwards. I always come here for all my needs including my Brazilian wax 😊recommend top notch if you want top notch

I came in for a pedicure and standard signature facial. This was my first facial ever and my first time at this Design One location. The same lady provided both of my services and she was great! My issues came as I was checking out and paying at the front desk. I was waiting behind a lady who took a woman who took a bit longer to checkout, understandably because she was purchasing additional items. As I was waiting, more individuals came in line after me to check in. Once I got to the front of the line, the lady front desk told me to leave the line and allow the individuals who were checking in to go first. Okay, cool I guess. Once I finally was able to pay for my services, she tried to charge me for the pedi and facial PLUS a microdermabrasion add-on. I kindly told her that I didn’t receive a microdermabrasion and instead of confirming with individual who actually provided my services, she went back and forth with me telling me that I did get a microdermabrasion and demanded that I pay for it. It was embarrassing and time consuming. Thankfully, my tech just so happened to be walking past the front desk so I stopped her and asked her. She confirmed that I did NOT receive a microdermabrasion and that the front desk lady was actually ringing up the wrong customer ticket. The front desk lady did not apologize to me and was quite rude. She didn’t offer to schedule me a time to return for another appointment as she had done with the woman who had checked out before me. That’s okay because I don’t plan on coming back after that experience.
