I moved away years ago and still love coming here every year or so when visiting family. (As well as my daughters, who do hair, but do not live near me, she is the best colorist/stylist). Carrie has always stayed current with her skills and products. I had highlights/lowlights and a great cut/blow dry styling. I was also advised on some tips to keep my thin hair looking its best/healthy with the most volume. Love the results! See you next time Carrie!

I have been going to Carrie for my high lights, low lights and haircuts for close to 20 years. She is excellent and always does a fantastic job. She is fastidious and meticulous with my cool blonde highlights. I always get compliments on my hair and I never hesitate to send new clients her way. Run, don’t walk! She is wonderful!!!!

Awful place spent thousands $6.000 she ruined my hair NO REFUND had to go back and spend even more money for her to put more great lengths extensions in because the $3,000 worth wasn’t enough hair definitely never go here for extensions

Carrie has been very accommodating for both myself and my 13 year old daughter. When my curling iron pulled out a chunk of my hair she was able to squeeze me in right away for both my extension consultation appointment and 2 days later was able to put my hair extensions in and you cannot tell that they’re in my hair. My 13 year old daughter got her hair cut recently and she was excellent with her asking exactly where she wanted her length cut to and she also fixed her curtain bangs. My daughter couldn’t be happier with her new do. Carrie is also very informative of the do’s and dont’s of what to do with your hair. We both will definitely be back for Carrie’s hair services.

I have lived in multiple cities (Boston, Philadelphia, Washington) and I have yet to find a hairdresser or salon with a better understanding of hair and coloring than Carrie. I have been visiting her for over 20 years, and am always amazed at her knowledge, creativity and ability to listen to her clients. True confessions, I have sometimes been pressed for time, and grabbed a quick haircut at chain salons, only to be reminded of the difference as soon as I get in the car and look in the mirror. In contrast, my latest visit with Carrie made it so I couldn’t stop looking in the rear view mirror at the gorgeous color job and precision haircut!

Carrie has been styling my hair for several years. We've experimented with many different styles over the years and I receive compliments regularly from total strangers. Carrie knows hair. She attends workshops regularly and her techniques & products are current. Good stylists (not hairdressers) are hard to find. If she was average, I would have moved on years ago.

I have been going to Carrie's for years until I moved about 35 min proximity to Boston. I have been to 3 hairdressers in the area and was disappointed with their work. We had a family event this past weekend and I needed my hair done. Carrie booked me at the last moment and again did an excellent job. I pondered a bit before traveling this far out of Boston, but I am glad I went back. My hair is very fine, was white-blonde as a baby and now got dark, unfortunately most hairdressers get my colors wrong. I had highlights and hair cut done by Carrie. Will likely go back despite the travel.

Came once before to take out extensions and blow dry. Few places remove bonded extensions so I overlooked the unkempt appearance of this place. Charged 75. Three months later, I'm back, and charged a surprise, $140 ! I complained and she told me that she gave me a discount last time but since I don't use her for other services, she's not going to cut me a break. She said come back for more expensive services and I'll give you a break . Completely unprofessional! It's no surprise why there is never anybody in that place. I paid, left no tip and will never return. This is the first review I've ever written. Steer clear! $140 for 90 minutes. No color, no keratin. Just extension removal and a messy, greasy blow-dry with flatiron. Anybody who knows anything about decent salon services knows this is highway robbery and shady practices. Note, there is another review indicating shady pricing at this place.

Carrie Porter knows hair! Seriously, people notice my hair and hair color almost everyday. I have been going to Carrie for a few years now and I can't believe the amount and frequency with which I receive compliments on my hair! Its crazy! The best is when people mention my hair and then tell me they are hair stylists themselves and want to know who does my hair. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair. My hair has never looked better!

After one too many DIY hair dye kits and unsuccessful trips to hairdressers in Louisiana my hair is no longer orange – thanks to Carrie! I went into the salon on a Saturday morning in June and after at least a 30-minute consultation, the process began. When I made the last minute appointment (luckily she was able to fit me in) I was planning on going dark – or back to my “nature” hair color. I had been highlighted golden blonde for many many years and Carrie was worried that the darkness of my natural color would be too drastic to my eyes and I would hate it. I didn’t need much convincing since I had been looking at orange hair for around four months! She expertly blended color to match the darkness of my roots with some golden highlights around my face and part. She knows I don’t put much time or effort into my styling so the placement was natural and something that I could update with a few foils at another salon since I live out of state. Not only is Carrie a longtime family friend, she has expertly colored and styled my mother’s hair for 12+ years! My Mom is constantly receiving praise on how gorgeous and her hair color and cut are. Carrie has years of experience but also keeps up with her education. I highly recommend Carrie and her girls – worth every penny!
