I received my first ever facial from Kalyn P this morning and I couldn’t recommend her more. She was thorough from start to finish, and left me feeling fresh and rejuvenated. Will definitely be back soon!

Just got my haircut with Kyleigh at capitol. She listened to what i wanted and gave input when i asked. She mastered the cut perfectly and I will be going back to see her before she graduates in May!

All the folks I've witnessed that work there have shown only kindness, upbeat attitudes, and listening/ good communication with the clients. A. J., my BEYOND- amazing stylist, is truly that: beyond accurate description. I'm disabled, but she (as well as all her colleagues that have assisted me in her absence) has been patient, informative/ honest, passionate, and a TRUE sunlit blessing to me every time I've been in. ***Update: I was told I would receive a phone call or email but never did. Years went by so I tried to make an appointment and was told I was confirmed. When I arrived, they said I had a block and couldn’t receive services, and apologized. Again, humiliated all over again for nothing. I am done with them. I also heard this from others** Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get my hair done. After I arrived and they realized the amount of work my hair would be(curly/kinky) they did everything to get me out of the chair. I have been going there for years and without any issues. I asked a couple of questions and next thing you know the instructor kicked me out! Even the student was shocked at his response. It was completely unprofessional and I was mortified. I left and didn’t return. I attempted to make an appt last week after over a year an apparently I’ve been flagged! When I called they put me on hold as if to check. I have emailed and called and have yet to receive a response. Update: I called and made an appointment. Then I received a phone call back stating that she had to cancel because there were notes on my account. She said she would have a manager call me back and I have yet to receive that call or any responses when I’ve emailed the email address below. I will no longer attempt to discuss the incident or return to Capitol.

The prices are not cheaper than salon prices for hair color or cuts. The services at Capitol are performed by students so the appointments take twice as long. There is no additional benefit to getting services at Capitol when you can pay the same price as you would to have an experienced professional provide the same service.

Had an appointment with the amazing Courtney P. I had a full head is nape highlights. It turned out so beautiful and it’s been about a month, and I’m still obsessed. She was able to find me a great product that helps keep my highlights looking fresh. Very talented and knowledgeable. She was super professional. I even made an appointment for eyebrow waxing and tinting which again I’m obsessed!!

I've been coming to Capitol to get my hair done for years, but I am extremely disappointed with how I was treated after my most recent service. In the past I have gotten a balayage, several hair cuts, and different highlighting treatments, and 11 days ago I got my hair colored red, and even though I have washed my hair only 3 times since that appointment with color safe shampoo and conditioner, the red in my hair is almost entirely gone. I asked my stylist for colored hair shampoo recommendations, and told her that I wash my hair about once every other day, but to preserve the color I switched to once every three days, and used the shampoo and conditioner she had recommended to me. The color is still on some of my roots, but has entirely faded out from my ends. I'm so upset because the color was supposed to last 6-8 weeks, and when I called to see what could be done I was offered a consultation with a staff member to determine what went wrong, but was told I did not qualify for a redo appointment as I was more than 7 days past my original appointment date. Anything else I wanted done to my hair would have to be booked for an additional charge, even though on the website it says that an all over color includes a color retouch and an extra application. I did bring this up to the receptionist, and she informed me those services were things I had the option to book for an additional charge, and that I could book a consultation, but other than that there was nothing else I could do. As someone who has been coming to Capitol for years, I'm really disappointed.

UPDATE: 9/9/2024 - Madison is now located at Le Blanc Salon Suites in Aksarben Village (502 Salon - Hair by Madison Boyd). I highly recommend booking with her! Madison Boyd did an outstanding job on my full head highlights, with haircut, today. From beginning to end she made me feel beautiful and spoiled. Her scalp massage was relaxing too. I highly recommend Madison Boyd!

Great place for a well-priced blowout. Sinks and stations are clean and nicely kept. Hair dressers are quite friendly unlike front desk staff. Unfortunately, they often forget about you in the waiting room for 20-30 minutes.

I had a really good experience getting a haircut by a student stylist, Bailee S. Everything from the booking process to the haircut on the day went well. Bailee was so easy to talk to and she did exactly what I asked for in terms of hair length and bangs trim. The instructor came to check on my hair twice, and I absolutely love the learning environment here. 💇‍♀️

Malayna was amazing! I was scared when I came in because I knew my hair needed a lot of work. I am so happy with how my hair turned out. She was patient and so kind. She is going to be great in the hair world! The instructors were very knowledgeable and helpful with the process
