NEVER AGAIN!! I went to this salon for the first time for a simple wash and set. Yes it super nice and the people were nice but I should’ve read the reviews of this place because a week later Im washing my hair and it smells like chemicals!! My natural curl pattern is destroyed and after washing it 7 times I still couldn’t get the smell out. Was literally crying at the damage it did my hair is so thin it’s like theres no life in it. There must be keratin mixed in with their products because flatiron doesn’t do that much from a once over and the chemical smell says all SMFH Lesson learned for real

I had an amazing first experience at Blooming Hope Dominican Hair Salon! Angela took such good care of my hair, washing it three times to ensure it was perfectly clean and refreshed. She gave me a great trim that will keep my hair healthy while maintaining the length I want. My curls came out shiny and bouncy, exactly how I hoped they would. I will definitely be back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for quality hair care. Let's support our local small businesses!

I went to this salon about a month ago and got a blow out/silk press. My hair was nice, super straight but smelled like fire for days! 3 weeks later, after a wash, my hair is so severely heat damaged it looks like I have a relaxer. I went in there with an afro, 4B hair and now my hair is permanently straight! I went back and spoke to the owner who kept asking where I sat, who blew out my hair, asking to see pictures but didn't seem too concerned. She continued to work on someone's hair as she spoke to me and told me I could come back and she would "care for" my hair but couldn't guarantee it would be back to my natural curl pattern. I should have scrolled down and read the reviews. I have been going to Dominican hair salon my entire life in NYC and this has never happened to me. I have been nurturing my natural hair for 9 years and now it's ruined! Be careful with the amount of heat they put in your hair at this place!

Went for silk press on natural hair twice. First time, the stylist talked badly about me in Spanish to another client (had concerns about her detangling technique and I didn’t hide my faces well), but did a decent job on my hair below-shoulder length hair for a good price. Was straight through a couple washes, which surprised me, and I sweat a lot at the gym but the roots stayed straight. A 10 minute blow dry on medium heat was all it took to dry after washing, and I could smell a chemical I started to believe was keratin. After about 6 weeks it curled again - it had an awful chemical the whole time, especially when wet. I let the rudeness go and went back. The second time, I got someone different. Immediate result was again decent, but it has not curled again months later despite several washes. My hair is thin from breakage despite little to no heat. Have to start my natural journey from scratch. Be careful, and trust your instincts. Gave 2 stars because these results may be silk press specific. A regular blower service may not give the same results.

I called for a same day appointment and was give one. My hair was beautifully done, wash and blow out. I couldn’t believe how soft and flowing my hair looked. I am definitely going back.

I’ve been going to Ms. Angela for years and have natural curly hair. I always ask for the heat protection when I get my roller wrap and have never had an issue with my curls bouncing right back as soon as I wash it. I’ve moved away but whenever I visit I make sure I come see her before I leave.

UNPROFESSIONAL. I have been trying to get a wash and set for 2 DAYS STRAIGHT and no one is ever available. I called ahead and they’ll tell me to come but when I get there THEY’RE ALL GONE. It’s only the barbers there and when one of them calls the lady says “she’s not coming back”

After my regular hairstylist of 15 years had to reschedule due to an emergency on my birthday, I searched for Dominican hair salons and discovered Blooming Hope Dominican Hair Salon. When I called, Angela was incredibly welcoming and reassuring. She invited me to come in same day and did an amazing job on my hair. I got a touch up, blow out and flat iron. My hair was soft, flowy and looked great. I'm thrilled to have found my new hair place.

I’m a black woman that has been wearing my hair natural (curly) for years. I decided to go to this shop back to back (twice) to get my hair straightened. While I was on vacation I decided to wash my hair and go back to my curly look and my hair would not curl up at all. I did notice a burning smell of my hair on both visits, but I figured it came from the smell of the flat irons. My theory is that it was too much heat on my hair or there is a straightener / chemical in the shampoo or conditioner. I should’ve read the reviews prior to going to this shop. Now I have to cut off all of my hair and start all over again!

I have had my hair done several times here and I will never go anywhere else. Angela is amazing she takes so much time with my challenging hair. I have 4c tight curls and her silk press lasts me 8 weeks. Highly recommend!

I will give then a 20 star if I could. Angela and her team does such an amazing job. They make you feel welcome, they are very sweet and caring. I love Angela’s personality and customer service, she cares for the health of your hair and offers a professional not rush job.

The sign on the door says 9am on Saturdays but the barber says because the stylist lives so far away that she does not come till 11 am or 12pm. Then when she gets here, she takes too long because she's bumping her guns consistently instead of working.

Awesome technique. My hair lasts. My hair has grown 2 inches cause I don't use heat or oil. Just pin up nightly, let down. Nice, work efficiently to get job done. Love Angela!

I first came back in June 2021 actually my husband call and made me a appointment from the first time there Angela was wonderful and very professional. At that time I was have by breakage’s with my hair thinning on the sides. She treated my hair and since then my sides have grown in the breakage isn’t there and my hair has grown a lot. And every time I come in I am treated more like her family not just a client. And since June 2021 I will not go anywhere but here. This is my salon. Angela you are a true stylist

I have had only the best and most amazing experience at blooming hope. The owner is so sweet and kind and willing to listen to you. Its always important that you express what exactly you want done with your hair. And every single time I've been there, they have listened and done exactly what I asked. I also took my elderly mom there and she had only good things to say. The owner and stylist who have worked on me are skilled and knowledgeable about hair. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!!

This place was awesome! I was able to walk in on a Monday and was serviced almost immediately. My hair came out so straight just the way I like it and without damage. The stylist Angela was such a sweetheart! She was working on 3 girls at once and still got me in and out in a timely manner! I will most definitely be back!
