Been going here for 3 years, and I want to compliment Zaynab because she is wonderful. She is kind, talented, listens, and makes you feel cared for. I wish I could say the same about the rest of the salon stuff that I’ve had negative experiences with, which is influencing me to take my business elsewhere. First off, the receptionist is rude. As the face of the business, she does everything she can to drive business away. Every time I try to book an appointment with Zaynab, all the receptionist does is just tell me how far out Zaynab is booked, like she just doesn’t want me to book with her at all, and I’m flexible. I’m happy to wait to get on Zaynab’s wait list, but it’s like the receptionist doesn’t want to go through the trouble of working with the client for finding an opening. I scheduled with another stylist, Stephanie, who was recommended to me by the receptionist, and I gladly accepted a booking with her for a balayage and hair cut. Stephanie did a great job. She was very pleasant to talk to as well. Since I am new to hair coloring(red hair for the first time), I asked Stephanie the aftercare for red hair after swimming in a chlorine pool, to which she said all I need to do is shower and it will be fine. I had only had my hair colored for two weeks, went swimming in a chlorine pool, showered immediately afterward, and half of my hair color that I paid nearly $400 for was gone. I texted Stephanie and asked what could be done to fix it, as I really loved the color and wanted to enjoy it longer. No reply. I called the salon, and the receptionist told me “it was my problem” and that if I wanted it color corrected, I would have to pay a lot of money. She finger pointed at me and told me I should have done my research, but I asked the stylist while she was doing my hair, and I followed her instructions. I asked the receptionist if the color could just be stripped out to return to my natural color, to which the stylist rudely replied, “Just go swimming again.” The receptionist also told me she did not handle Stephanie’s bookings, which is ironic because she initially booked my appointment with Stephanie. The receptionist told me to just reach out to Stephanie, and I told her I did, but Stephanie had not responded to my message. I just feel like as a loyal, paying customer, it would have been nice to have been given some sort of courtesy for an honest mistake. I was never rude once, nor did I blame the stylist. I simply wanted to fix my hair, and the receptionist had no interest in booking me and hung the phone up on me, leaving me to figure out what to do on my own. The stylist finally responded to me some days later and gave me at home solution, which I tried, but made no difference and did nothing. Since then, I haven’t been able to get a hold of the stylist, and whilst I understand she’s busy, it would be courteous as a paying customer to at least take a few seconds to reply to a text message about rebooking. Sadly, after three years, I am taking my business elsewhere to where someone will appreciate me.

Buyer Beware - Bait and Switch: I was looking for a place to get highlights in my hair. There is a salon close to my home. When I stopped in on a Wednesday afternoon, I was told partial highlights would be 95.00 and I made an appointment for that Saturday. When I got home I told my husband I had made an appointment. He asked if it was Bishop’s Salon. He mentioned our neighbor went there and liked the salon. I called Bishop’s and asked how much the cost was to do partial highlights. The woman I spoke with said highlights done by the associate would be $90, or an appointment with the owner would be 140.00 because of her experience. I made an appointment with the associate and I then canceled the first appointment I made with the first Salon. I arrived for my appointment at Bishop’s at 9 and Zaynab took me back right away. She did a nice job and the highlights looked good. As I was checking out, a woman named Frederica, said the total was $150.00. I let her know that when I booked the appointment they quoted me $90.00 with Zaynab or $140.00 with the owner, Mitzi. Frederica told me $90.00 was for color, not partial highlights (although I specifically requested partial highlights when I called to ask the price). I paid it since the work was done and there was no price list in the shop to refer to, only my telephone conversation. When I got home I told my husband about the change it price, we decided to go back and speak with the owner. The girl that checked me out was at the counter and I asked her to explain the $60 price difference again to the two of us. She said it was for color, not highlights. I asked to speak to the owner. When Mitzi came to the counter, I explained that I was quoted $90.00 and that I canceled the appointment with the other Salon because the prices quoted were close. She said: “No one at Bishop’s would have said that.” and asked “Don’t you I think that $140 was a fair price?” I told her she could charge whatever she wanted, but I was quoted $90.00. Mitzi said, “I don’t believe you.” At that point we left the salon, there would have been no point in further discussion since she essentially called me a liar. If they would have quoted me 140.00 for the partial highlights, I would have just kept the appointment at the first salon. Zaynab did a fine job with the highlights of my hair. My complaints are with the price charged vs what i was quoted and secondly the rude way I was treated when discussing the situation with the owner.

First time getting my hair cut here yesterday but I was incredibly impressed. They are so very welcoming and kind. The owner saw me sitting there and went out of her way to introduce herself. My hair stylist Zaynab was incredibly sweet and kind and did an amazing job on my cut. I’m pregnant and had to take a few breaks due to the “morning” sickness I have all day and she and the receptionist were so accommodating. I’ll be coming back for sure!

If I could rate Bishop’s 100 stars, I would. I got a HORRIFIC haircut at another salon. I called Bishop’s on a Saturday afternoon and they squeezed me in within a couple of hours. The owner personally fixed my hair and did an absolute PHENOMENAL job! I will never go anywhere other than Bishop’s. THANK YOU!

I scheduled for a first time appointment with Jennifer a few weeks ago. I have challenging hair. It’s curly, dry, mature & I struggle with frizz. It was even more challenging than usual because I had covid hair meaning it had been months since it had been cut. In all honesty I was anxious. As it turns out there was no need to be anxious at all. Jennifer was professional and personable & she did an awesome job with my hair. Thanks again Jennifer!

This place is amazing. Everyone who works there is super into it, and they want your hair to be nothing short of perfect. I worked with Shannon to get a perm, and it looks absolutely amazing. 10/10 would recommend you go here!!!

My mom and I have been going to see Jennifer since I was 5 years old, 18 years ago and we couldn't want anyone else! The front desk is very nice and the other stylists are always in a great mood and open for conversation!

One of the best salons in all of Tennessee with high quality work and a polite staff. Mitzi Bishop did my hair, she did such a professional and 5 star job that it made me want to come back. I got compliments from my friends all year long on the simple and natural highlights, even thought I usually don’t style my hair. Not only was the work exceptional but the atmosphere was agreeable and you could feel the how smooth everything was going.
