I came for a wax, I was probably on that table for 6 minutes and I still have to use a razor to shave after my appointment. Horrible definitely rushed and will never go back here.

I have been a client of Beauty Lab for almost 4 years and have never been happier! Lanisha is extremely knowledgeable and takes pride in her work. She is gentle and efficient. They have wonderful aftercare products as well. I highly recommend Beauty Lab for all of your waxing needs!

Lanisha did a great job! I’ve found through past experiences that good wax and an experienced specialist make a huge difference in the pain level, and quality of a Brazilian. It’s worth finding a good studio!

Came here because my person of 7 years cancelled on me. My appointment was last minute and I was nervous and I had no reason to be nervous. Christina was absolutely amazing and so easygoing that this will now be my new spot. Everything was clean and neat. I’m so impressed with this place.

I first found Beauty LAB over 4 years ago when I was passing through the MD area and only had a few days in town. I had such an amazing first experience with Lanisha that I decided immediately that I would return. Since then, I happily brave the 40-minute commute from my home to come to Beauty LAB.

Beauty Lab is clean and effective. You book, you’re seen at your time or earlier, and you see them prepping the space and cleaning as soon as they’re finishing up. All the ladies who have helped me out have been courteous and professional. They also sell products to help maintain after your wax. Lots of parking, and you can pay in multiple ways if needed. Added bonus: if you do any kind of martial art on mats (jujitsu, wrestling, Judo, etc) they also sell specific soap to help skip ringworm and other yuck post workout.

I hardly ever write reviews. I need to be EXTREMELY impressed to do so. Beauty Lab has consistently been the best wax I’ve ever gotten and trust me I’ve been to 7 other establishments from 2020 to 2024. I decided to start waxing because shaving was causing me serious problems. My very first Brazilian was with beauty lab when their location was by the Columbia mall. It was an amazing 1st experience. Wax lady was super friendly, made me feel comfortable, office was neat, clean & organized, but above all NOT ONE HAIR WAS MISSED. It was done quickly and I was left with a smooth finish. 4 years later different girl still the same amazing experience. Book with Madison, highly, highly recommend. Her waxing technique is 100/10, not one hair missed and didn’t need to triple wax. Beauty Lab will be my forever waxing place even if I move.

Hands down the best that has ever done it! I drive 40 minutes to get my waxing done here by Lanisha. So professional and kind. I always leave here feeling good! I’m the type that likes to talk during an appt and she always keeps me going. 5 stars!

I’ve been coming to Lanisha since 2017 and I wouldn’t ever go anywhere else. Lanisha, Mark, and the whole staff are so professional and polite, I’ve had nothing but great experiences from day 1! Lanisha was my very first waxer and she put all my fears and insecurities at ease from my first appointment. For a while I would only see her, but every one of the waxers are kind, considerate, warm, and put you at ease through these very intimate services. As someone that gets serviced monthly, their membership plan has saved me hundreds and is so easy to understand and renew yearly. I see that some people complain about their late policy, but I’ve always contacted them and they’ve been very gracious as long as it’s been reasonable. I completely understand and respect this policy because of the nature of their close appointments and respecting other people’s time. I’m excited to have seen them grow their business from a single suite, to having their own studio. Looking forward to see what the future holds for Beauty Lab :)

You need the punctuality of a US MARINE to come here! You need someone from the States Attorney’s office to let you out of their membership! NEWSFLASH! You’re waxing 🐱🐱🐱, not performing Root Canals, and even they have a GRACE PERIOD! I’ve waited months to write this review for fear of retaliation, that they would make it harder to cancel the membership! I’m sure their response to this will further showcase their argumentative behavior as well. If you don’t believe that this place has retaliatory practices, check out this photo of the OWNER leaving a ONE STAR rating on their former contractor’s new place of employment! Shame on you!

Horrible experience!!! DON’T GO HERE. 1.Management is so disorganized. 2. The late policy is unreasonable. You can be 2 mins late and they will turn you AWAY. I have never been treated at a wax salon the way I have been treated here and will never be back. 3.EXPENSIVE. The prices are too high! Save your money and go somewhere else. There’s much better and cheaper wax salons in the area. UPDATE: In reply… I. I have been there to get a service and your unprofessional behavior is why that was my first and last time!!! This is not a fraud review. 2. Monet is my middle name. I used my first Name for my appointment. 3. I’m free to visit any salons in the area if I choose. It is not my fault that I had I had a better experience elsewhere. 4 Now I see why SEVERAL OF YOUR EMPLOYEES HAVE LEFT OR IS LEAVING (quit). Management is HORRIBLE as I said. The way you’re treating me as a customer is unacceptable. This is how you lose business, honey. 5. You’re admitting to stalking your previous employees! What are you doing on there sites?? And writing untruthful reviews. Something is SERIOUSLY WRONG with that picture. 6. If there’s no truth to my review, THEN WHY ARE THERE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME THING I EXPERIENCED. I enjoyed going to this place for a few years but the customer service really is horrible. No one picks up the phone, some teenager runs the phone when they do answer but they never have an answer or solution is an issue! To cancel a membership is rocket science and makes no sense and the hardest thing to do. It’s like they hold on to your membership fee to keep them afloat since everyone is leaving that place. I’ve called numerous times, explained I moved, and they insist on making the process DIFFICULT! it’s tiring and I’m sure they will respond to this review with something petty. CHILDISH!

I just have to share my experience with this business because it was so amazing, First the store is so neatly organized, the staff is so kind, the products are worth every dollar and the services are the best i've ever had. I got a wax and every inch of hair was removed and there was little to no skin irritation. Definitely will be a regular customer!

I think I am well equipped to leave a fair review of the Beauty Lab. I have been going here since before they opened a location in Columbia (like literally, I was at their first shop ever when it was a tiny suite). I love to support black owned businesses, so I continued to come. My first ever wax appointment was with Lanisha at her first shop (getting waxed by Lanisha or Madison is like going to war, but I digress). 5/5 cleanliness: the shop is always clean, which is important. Front desk customer service: 1/5, no exaggeration. The front desk seems to rotate between the husband of the Lanisha and their daughter. The husband is not welcoming, nor is he particularly a personality you want to encounter before you get your wax. He doesn’t make conversation (maybe because he is focused on the bottom dollar?), and I’ve gone in there multiple times feeling uncomfortable just because of his cold energy. One time I came with a girlfriend and she echoed the statement. The daughter is lovely however. I used to own a coffee shop, so customer service is important to me. You can kind of tell how they value customer service based on their responses to low reviews. Customer service of waxers (3/5): I frequent two waxers: Arielle and Christina (i believe is her name — she has blonde hair). They are both lovely, professional, kind, quick and give the best waxes. And they are super knowledgeable about skin care and after care! They also seem to have low retention of waxers—I’m not sure why, but it is only slightly of concern. Prices 3/5: A bit overpriced, but it’s the DMV. To be expected, I suppose. Customer policy (2/5): They run the place like the first establishment of McDonald’s—you better be on time or tough luck. And yes, if you’re 5 minutes late, cross your fingers they let you in or just go home. If you’re going to be 1 minute late, call them. They say it’s because they have to stick to the time limit for each service, which I understand. But also, businesses should be a bit more realistic to accommodate clients. But that’s just my opinion. Overall, I won’t be coming here anymore, as I have moved out of the area. There are other wax places that you can patron, if you care about the points I mentioned above. To the beauty lab: please don’t respond to my review, i don’t care to read it and I don’t need to read the passive aggressive argumentative tone you will likely respond with.

I would like to say i am highly impressed with this beauty business. When i entered the salon i was excitedly greeted by a young lady named Eryn! I went in for a wax and i can say i will return next time. The workers were very patient and comforting during my waxing experience. I totally recommend you stop by, this was the best experience ever!

This place is a waste of time. Don’t even bother going here. There’s a better place in Alexandria Virginia called bare skin go there. This place wants to much of your personal information to get a wax.
